Chapter 1823: Chapter 1821: The Expanding Sect
Peter Brown was galloping on a beast horse when suddenly, a commotion arose ahead, and he saw a large number of people rushing over.
What’s happening?
Peter looked ahead in confusion, only to find that a group of people dressed in sect clothing had arrived by his side.
Upon closer inspection, Peter’s expression changed; the cultivation levels of the newcomers were incomprehensible to him.
Above ten stars!
Realizing who these sect personnel might be, Peter understood that he might have encountered members of a sect.
Before Peter could figure out what was happening, he saw everyone being herded together.
Everyone stood in the open space, looking toward the unfriendly faces of the masters surrounding them.
At this moment, people stopped talking; many were trembling, completely unaware of what might happen next.
Peter also dismounted from his beast horse, looking at these people with a sense of astonishment.
As Peter anxiously waited, a master floated up to stand before them.
It was Peter’s first time seeing such a figure in the Land of the Divine Realm, and he was somewhat surprised, having no idea what they intended to do.
"Don’t panic, everyone, we are from the Star Sect."
The Star Universe Sect?
Peter had no clue about such a sect and couldn’t recall where it had sprung up from.
Seeing everyone’s puzzled expressions, the floating master said proudly, "You surely don’t know our Star Sect. Let me tell you, we are a major sect from the Purple River Star Region, of course not something your little place would know."
Upon the mention of the Purple River Star Region, Peter noticed many people showing shock.
"Now you know," the master continued, "Our sect is expanding into this star domain. Thus, there will be a significant change here; we will rule this universe."
Peter then remembered something he’d read about; the Purple River Star Region was far away, with many Major Powers that far exceeded the sects here, incomparable to the Three Great God Orders. It was surprising to encounter such a sect.
The floating person looked over the crowd and said solemnly, "This is an opportunity for you all. After the Star Sect’s arrival here, we need a lot of menial workers. Anyone above five stars will be recruited as menial workers. Stand here, and we will select those above five stars to take with us."
Hearing this, Peter’s face changed; he hadn’t expected such a situation. He was precisely at five stars, and if his method of concealing his cultivation worked against those under ten stars, it was useless against someone above that, especially this floating person.
What should I do?
While Peter looked around and gave a wry smile, he knew there was no escaping with his current level of cultivation.
Should I go or not?
As he was contemplating, the floating man pointed at him and said, "You, come here."
No choice but to follow.
Peter knew that in the Land of the Divine Realm, especially against those who disregarded the law, he could only go with them.
Thinking it over, Peter felt leaving this way might not be so bad. He was looking for the Body Refining Art anyway, and a sect was much mightier than a Divine Nation. He might be able to find what he needed within the sect.
But how did he end up a menial worker?
Peter was speechless.
"Indeed a desolate land; so few above five stars!" After the selection, which included Peter, only nine people were picked, and the floating man shook his head.
After the other Divine Race people left, the floating middle-aged man said to Peter and the others, "I don’t care what you did before; from now on, you are the Star Sect’s menial workers."
"Are menial workers disciples?" a young person asked timidly.
The question evoked laughter from the Sect Disciples.
The lead middle-aged man smiled and said, "While you may be called disciples, menial workers are menial workers, basically servants. Of course, you also have opportunities. When you reach the ten-star level, you’ll be taken as regular students and cultivated by the sect. If you meet the standards within a certain time, you’ll graduate. Only those who’ve graduated and completed the sect’s curriculum truly count as disciples. So, you’re far from being real disciples."
This was news to Peter!
He now had some understanding of the growth mechanics within a sect; it seemed not to be an easy place to thrive.
"Alright, our sect now indeed needs a lot of menial service workers. Don’t get any ideas; you can’t escape. We will brand you, and if you run, we can capture you. I advise you to work hard, and maybe when your opportunity comes, you’ll be able to advance," the floating person told them.
"Will our items be taken?" a middle-aged man asked.
Sneering slightly, the floating man proudly said, "What good things can you have in this star domain? Just some Divine Stones and the like. Don’t worry, we won’t take your possessions; keep them yourselves."
Upon hearing this, Peter saw everyone breathe a sigh of relief.
Peter thought about the items in his Ring, realizing that while they said this, there might still be strife within the sect. He should find an opportunity to hide his Divine Stones and other items.
Of course, right now Peter had no choice; he just had to accept it.
"Alright, we will take you to a Divine Field. As menial workers, your primary job will be to farm Divine Grain for our Star Sect. Those who perform well will receive substantial rewards."
Farm Divine Grain?
Peter stared in astonishment at the middle-aged man, really not expecting that he would still be unable to escape the farming life, turning into a cultivator of divine fields again in the Land of the Divine Realm.
However, it seemed this sect was strong, and it might be possible to seek refuge within the Star Sect.
Unlike the others, Peter, with his vast array of experiences, displayed a demeanor of going with the flow, showing no significant emotional fluctuation.
