Chapter 1801: Chapter 1799: Eight-Star Beast

The troops were headed towards Lake Ridge Star, and at their pace, it would take at least two days.

It was only now that Peter Brown truly saw the situation in the Divine Realm for what it was. The stars were actually places one could stay, with star domains lying between them. However, this star domain was totally unlike that of the Lower Realm; the divine beings who were of the Divine Race walked through this star domain as if it were flat ground.

With every step they took, the pathways of the star domain sparkled with flowing light.

"Report!"

While they were marching, the scout team that had been sent out returned with a few people from the Blue Star Kingdom.

"What’s the situation?" Peter asked.

"Your Highness, Our Army encountered a troop of soldiers from Lake Ridge Star who came to investigate the situation. We eliminated them using a formation, leaving only these two individuals whom we captured and brought back. From what we understand, the defenses on Lake Ridge Star are currently weak. Moreover, an army of five thousand from Lake Ridge is heading our way."

Five thousand troops from Lake Ridge Star are coming?

"Your Highness, it is clear that the Flying Star Army hasn’t been in touch with them. They are likely trying to get a grasp of the situation, or it’s possible they are sending reinforcements. This is a good opportunity; we can completely consume these five thousand," one of the scouts suggested.

Peter thought for a moment and then looked towards Dennis Brown. "I remember there’s an ancient road ahead, correct?"

Dennis Brown replied, "Indeed, there are some Eight-Star Beasts on that ancient road. Everyone has intentionally avoided it."

"Gentlemen, I have an idea. Given our strength, even if we encounter Eight-Star Beasts, it should pose no problem. So, why don’t we take the ancient road to bypass them and strike directly at Lake Ridge Star? Rescuing the prisoners of war is the key."

Caleb Henderson slapped his thigh and said, "Brilliant! If we were to clash with the approaching five thousand from the Giant Bear Army, we would surely reveal our position, and attacking Lake Ridge Star would become more difficult. However, if we bypass them and suddenly appear before the fifteen thousand troops of the Giant Bear Army, our chances of victory would be even greater."

Peter spoke gravely, "Below, I order that someone go back and command the severely wounded soldiers to move and avoid the approaching five thousand from the Giant Bear Army. Our Army will march at full speed towards the ancient road, directly to Lake Ridge Star!"

No one doubted Peter Brown’s command, and upon its issuance, the unit immediately set off towards the ancient road.

This time, ten Seven-Star experts led the way, ready to confront any Eight-Star Beasts.

Indeed, it was the starry ancient road!

Only upon traversing the ancient road did Peter realize that the path was completely different from the one they had previously traveled. If the previous path had been akin to a high-level highway, this was now a rural trail, with parts of the starry sky collapsing here and there, and even powerful beams of energy erupting intermittently.

Various dangers Peter had never seen before kept emerging.

Thankfully, the ten Seven-Star experts at the front were experienced; they showed no particular change in expression when faced with such an environment. With their pathfinding, the journey became smoother.

Half a day had passed when suddenly, Peter distinctly felt a powerful presence ahead.

"Be on guard!"

Caleb Henderson and others ahead shouted a warning.

Upon their alert, the army immediately halted.

"Form the formation!"

Peter knew that an Eight-Star Beast must have appeared.

As the formation took shape, he saw the light ahead morph, and a thirty-foot tall Eight-Star Beast emerged.

At a glance, Peter realized it was in the shape of a mouse.

"Star Devouring Rat!"

Most of the men recognized the name of the beast.

Upon closer examination, Peter could tell from the aura emanating from the mouse that it had to be Eight-Star Ranked.

He hadn’t expected to actually encounter an Eight-Star Ranked mouse!

"Do these beasts appear in groups? Are there more Eight-Star Ranked beasts of this kind?" Peter felt his scalp tingle at the thought.

"Your Highness, this Star Devouring Rat is probably rare. In this star domain, it is the top predator and there should be no other beasts of its kind around," Weston Hendricks explained from the side.

Not in groups?

Peter breathed a sigh of relief. He had been associating the creature with the rats on Earth, but it seemed that the mice here were different.

Though this mouse-like beast was quite large, Caleb Henderson and the others did not hold back. They quickly formed the Ten Absolute Array, surrounding it.

They had some know-how in facing Eight-Star Beasts. In the formation, there was no desperation. Instead, each of them launched an Energy Bomb.

After ten loud blasts, when everyone looked at the beast again, they couldn’t help but laugh. The formidable creature seemed strong, but now it was trembling on the ground.

What astonished Peter even more was that the mouse’s soul was revealed above its head.

"Your Highness, this Star Devouring Rat has surrendered. It has offered its soul. If we make a pact, we can tame it," Caleb Henderson excitedly looked at Peter.

"Caleb Henderson, you collect it," Peter said.

He was not going to claim such a mouse. Just looking at it made him uncomfortable.

Caleb Henderson couldn’t believe that Peter had passed this opportunity to him, and he gratefully exclaimed, "Thank you for your grace, Your Highness!"

As he spoke, he placed a drop of blood on the soul, and after a flash of light, the Star Devouring Rat’s body shrank down to the size of a man.

Seeing everyone’s envious looks, Caleb Henderson was delighted and again turned to Peter, "I, Caleb Henderson, pledge my loyalty to Your Highness and will never betray you."

"Rise, let’s continue our journey."

Upon Peter’s command, the troops advanced once more.

The other nine people kept watch all around, truly hoping for another Eight-Star Beast to appear. However, as they moved on, they encountered no more such creatures.

"Your Highness, Lake Ridge Star is straight ahead," Dennis Brown pointed and reported to Peter.

"Caleb Henderson, you take command. How we attack is up to you."

Caleb Henderson laughed heartily, "Your Highness, it will be even more convenient this time. I order the Star Devouring Rat to sneak beneath them and break their defenses. Our Army will directly breach their lines! We are assured victory in this battle!"
