Chapter 1800: Chapter 1798: Pressing the Attack After Victory
Watching their overwhelming victory and the defeat of a strong force like the Flying Star Army, the soldiers of the Purpolia Kingdom felt as if they were in a dream.
Was this the formidable Flying Star Army of the Blue Star Kingdom?
Everyone gazed at the fallen corpses, struggling to believe this was truly happening.
Had they really won?
Even Caleb Henderson and other Seven Star experts could hardly imagine such a result.
Especially when they saw that most were unscathed, and the battle had resulted in so few casualties, many eyes turned to Peter Brown.
"Congratulations, Your Highness, on your great victory!"
Caleb Henderson said, with tears streaming down his face.
"Congratulations, Your Highness, on your great victory!"
One soldier after another knelt before Peter Brown.
They all understood that this victory was entirely due to Peter Brown. Without Peter, there would have been no rescue, and without him, they would never have been able to defeat the Flying Star Army.
"Everyone, rise. This is just the beginning!"
Although Peter appeared calm on the surface, only he knew what this battle meant to him. Had he lost, he wasn’t sure what he would have done next.
Thankfully, it was all behind him now, and he was on the winning side.
"Has the casualty report come in? How is Our Army?"
Peter knew that every death or injury to his army was a significant loss.
"Reporting in, Our Army has lost one thousand one hundred and twelve soldiers, with over two thousand three hundred injured. However, the injured can recover after some rest. With the loss of slightly over a thousand men, Our Army has completely annihilated the Flying Star Army, leaving no survivors."
Caleb Henderson turned to Peter and said, "Your Highness, we have used special means to extract information from the enemy’s souls. According to the investigation, they have a large prisoner of war camp on Lake Ridge Star, holding over fifty thousand of Our Army’s prisoners of war."
Hearing this, Peter understood their intentions. Rescuing those fifty thousand would mean recovering half of his strength, which would undoubtedly benefit the next phase of development.
"Give me details," Peter said to Caleb after learning of their thoughts.
Caleb continued, "Your Highness, from what we’ve gathered, Lake Ridge Star is a desolate planet. The Blue Star Kingdom has turned it into one of their POW facilities and a hub for prisoner traffic. Over fifty thousand of our prisoners are held there, guarded by two armies, the Flying Star Army and the Giant Bear Army."
Had Peter been Prince Harvey, he certainly would have known about the Giant Bear Army, but since he was not, and it would be improper to ask, he simply nodded and said, "Share your thoughts."
Peter knew Caleb was a perceptive man with considerable command expertise, so he wanted to hear his ideas first.
Sure enough, Caleb said, "We are aware of the Flying Star Army’s fate, now wiped out by us. Fortunately, we have contained this news, so no outsiders know of their demise, giving us an opportunity."
Dennis Brown chimed in, "Your Highness, while the Giant Bear Army has over twenty thousand soldiers, they are not as strong as the Flying Star Army. If we attack now, our chances of taking Lake Ridge Star are very high."
"Why did they have only thirty thousand guarding the place?" Peter asked.
Caleb smiled, "Thirty thousand, plus the Flying Star Army, was deemed enough. Facing such an army, even in our prime, we wouldn’t dare provoke them lightly."
Peter then realized this situation and slightly nodded.
A Seven Star Peak expert named Frank said, "Your Highness, this is indeed an opportunity. The guarding force comprises the strength of the Flying Star Army. Without them, the enemy’s strength is certainly not as great. My subordinate knows Your Highness needs a large number of Divine Stones for the Energy Bombs. Lake Ridge Star is an important resupply point for the Blue Star Kingdom, so they must have a substantial amount of Divine Stones there."
"How likely are we to succeed?" Peter asked.
At this point, Peter had pretty much decided to attack Lake Ridge Star.
Caleb responded, "If it were ten thousand against ten thousand, we would have stood no chance before, but now the situation is different. We have enough confidence to destroy the enemy’s army."
"What about the enemy’s high-level cultivators?"
"Their highest cultivation now is only Seven Stars; there won’t be any eight-star person."
Peter nodded and said, "After the last battle, Our Army was scattered. It seems they have now divided their forces, and no single location will be too strong."
"Exactly, and now that’s the situation on Lake Ridge Star. After splitting up, they thought it unlikely to have an assembled army of over ten thousand, which is why they felt so secure about Lake Ridge Star. If we quickly rush there, our fighting power will be enough to easily annihilate those twenty thousand."
"Your Highness, our losses this time were not great—we still have over nine thousand men, with eight thousand combat-ready. The consumption of Energy Bombs wasn’t substantial, so a concentrated attack with Great Power should be enough to obliterate their Giant Bear Army."
"Please issue your command, Your Highness!"
"Very well, I command!"
Peter was decisive. Knowing the enemy’s situation, he could not let those fifty thousand prisoners go. They would become part of his army. If the attack succeeded, his strength would surely see a significant boost.
As they heard Peter was about to give an order, everyone immediately became serious.
"The lightly and heavily wounded will stay to clean the battlefield, and the eight thousand with me will set out!"
"As you command!"
No one showed any sign of fear; each of them surged with a fierce fighting spirit.
Seeing their motivation, Peter knew a strong army was emerging, a development he was pleased to witness.
"Caleb, you will still command this battle," Peter said, knowing there would be no eight-star person among their enemies, he wasn’t too worried.
Caleb declared with solemnity, "Rest assured, Your Highness, this battle will be won!"
"Rest assured, Your Highness, we will prevail!" echoed the eight thousand generals and soldiers, their morale sky-high.
Following Peter’s order, scouts were dispatched first, then without dispatching any vanguard forces, they quickly moved towards Lake Ridge Star.
Watching the fighting spirit expressed by his troops, Peter felt incredibly gratified.
