Chapter 1776: Chapter 174 Enlistment

Peter Brown really hadn’t anticipated that he would enlist in the army at such a place.

What was even more unexpected to Peter was that he was assigned a task immediately upon enlisting, with no time for elaborate discussion; everyone was called together to assemble.

"I am your Squadron_Captain, and from now on, you are under my command," said a middle-aged man standing on the Stage, shouting at Peter and the others.

Squadron_Captain?

Peter didn’t know what rank that was but seeing everyone else standing and listening, he listened as well.

Of course, he took a general look at the people here, and they seemed to be newly gathered, about a thousand in number.

A squadron has a thousand people?

Peter had no idea about the situation here.

"Listen up, we don’t have time for comprehensive training. The frontline requires us to join the battle. Train well on the journey. If you can’t pass the test, you will be executed according to military law!"

What?

Upon hearing this, the crowd started to get restless.

"Listen, don’t get any ideas. Deserters will be beheaded! Of course, if you’re captured by the enemy, then congratulations, you will henceforth be a slave!"

Peter looked towards the Squadron_Captain with an indescribable sense of bewilderment. Everyone says that to achieve immortality is wonderful, now he was even more Awesome than becoming an Immortal, but arriving here, he found this place was far more backward than any other he had been to. What was going on?

This extreme contrast made it difficult for Peter to adapt.

However, even if he couldn’t adapt, Peter had to accept this reality. He truly found himself in a place he couldn’t understand.

"Now, those with Three-star fate step forward," called the middle-aged man.

Following his words, some individuals with a Three-star fate stepped out.

Looking towards them, the Squadron_Captain said, "Good, from now on, you are Junior Captains, each commanding a hundred Soldiers. However, there are too many of you. Fight amongst yourselves and decide on ten Squadron_Captains and ten deputy Squadron_Captains."

It seemed those people were already accustomed to the Divine Race’s method of organization, they immediately began to fight amongst themselves. Soon, ten Squadron_Captains and ten deputy Squadron_Captains had emerged.

"Those not selected will automatically become team leaders. Choose the rest of the positions from amongst yourselves," he announced.

Peter began to understand the basic structure of the Army.

Soon, the team leaders were also chosen.

As a person of one-star fate, Peter naturally couldn’t hold any position and was assigned to one of the small teams.

Peter noted that most of the ten people in his small team were also of one-star fate, and they even looked somewhat weaker than the rest.

"I am your team leader; my name is Giovanni Walker," said the team leader before falling silent.

Afterwards, it was time to distribute various Weapons.

Since nobody had storage items, all the distributed items had to be carried on their person.

At this time, Peter also received a Jade Slip, which contained Blood Slaying Three Moves, a cultivation technique that was required learning for soldiers. Surprisingly, this Blood Slaying Three Moves was identical to the one Peter had learned previously.

As things developed to this point, Peter had more speculations about receiving this particular technique.

Indeed, it was just a sword and shield, with the addition of a Great Bow.

Seeing the Army’s equipment, Peter truly felt he had entered a very primitive era.

"Ten minutes to organize your teams; we set out after Ten minutes," the middle-aged man ordered firmly.

After his command, all the small teams quickly assembled.

"Continue studying the contents of the Jade Slip as we march," said the middle-aged Squadron_Captain before leading the army to set off.

Peter felt dazed; he couldn’t believe they were setting off just like that.

Soon they arrived at a much larger teleportation formation.

After being Teleport, Peter guessed they had arrived at the Provincial Government House.

But the place was entirely closed off; it was impossible to see what the surroundings were like.

Once there, Peter finally saw more Army troops gathered before joining a ten-thousand-strong Army led by a General, departing once again through the teleportation formation.

During their journey, Peter and the others did not speak; even amongst themselves, there was no communication, and he even noticed that everyone wore the same expressions—no one was inquiring into others’ matters.

Such a strange place!

Since this was within the Army, Peter understood that Generals often made examples of disobedient people to warn others. He certainly wouldn’t stand out and quietly studied the Cultivation Technique like everyone else.

The more he studied, the more Peter realized it was exactly the same as the three moves he had learned.

This was a strange affair. It seemed that much of what he had learned in that Captive Person area was actually applicable here.

Peter now simply referred to this place as the Divine Realm.

After another teleportation, the group arrived at what appeared to be a vast wilderness, but through Peter’s eyes, this was actually a star system.

This was entirely different from the Solar System where he was from. The sky here wasn’t a sea but a stretch of land that couldn’t be seen to its end.

After a day’s march, they settled into a camp.

As they set up camp, they began to cook and prepare meals.

Following the others, Peter went about his tasks, feeling even more bewildered by everything here. From Peter’s perspective, this place was indeed backward, akin to the slave societies of Earth’s Elegant Nation.

Such a strange Divine Realm!

Peter really couldn’t say for sure whether this was truly the Divine Realm, as everything here was so astonishing.

Once settled, Peter’s small team was Dividing into two groups, led by two Sergeant_Majors, and their group settled into a tent.

"Get to know me; my name is Davey Williams, of two-star fate," one introduced.

"Hallie Miller, one-star," said another.

"Albert Morrison, one-star," added a third.

"Oakley Peterson, one-star," asserted yet another.

Seeing that everyone was introducing themselves, Peter said, "Peter Brown, from the Lower Realm, one-star."

"Lower Realm?"

Everyone’s gaze suddenly turned to Peter.

Peter intentionally revealed his origin to see what their attitudes towards him would be.

"Are you a Captive Person who came from the Lower Realm?" Hallie asked, looking at Peter in shock.

"Is there a problem?" Peter asked in return.

"No problem, but as far as I know, it has been many years since anyone came from the Lower Realm. It’s said that those who come from there are all Strong Persons with incredible abilities. You must be quite remarkable," Hallie responded.

Seeing that there was no discrimination against him, Peter’s mind eased somewhat.
