Chapter 1755: Chapter 1753: Confrontation of Power
"The approaching forces are disorganized, they don’t have many weapons, everyone don’t be afraid,"
a voice roared, belonging to a man in armor and wielding a great sword at the peak of the Martial Master Level.
It was evident from his face that he was excited.
Peter Brown glanced his way and understood, this must be the Count Captain, who was only a step away from reaching the General Level, yet he hadn’t made the breakthrough, lacking in some unknown aspect.
Peter guessed that this man was similar to him, having fulfilled two aspects but lacking only the Heavenly Reward.
However, it didn’t look that easy.
Was he seeking to upgrade his cultivation by organizing this siege defense?
Upon his arrival, everyone was invigorated, all eyes turning towards the outside of the city walls.
"Listen to my command, draw the bows!"
The Count Captain bellowed.
Peter also picked up his Great Bow, then notched an arrow; he was no stranger to archery, in fact, he was a master archer.
"Fire!"
Following the Count Captain’s command, everyone released their arrows.
But Peter saw clearly that although everyone was shooting, many seemed scared, their arrows appearing feeble.
Instead, Peter’s own arrow flew directly towards someone who looked like a leader.
At a glance, Peter’s arrow pierced the man’s neck, and the leader instantly fell down.
One man down!
At that moment, Peter distinctly noticed a stream of energy emanating from the fallen man’s body, moving towards him.
It was a particular kind of energy that, once inside Peter’s body, merged with his Dragon Power, and then Peter realized that his Strength of Ten Dragons was becoming somewhat extraordinary, still the Strength of Ten Dragons, but the power of the dragons was completely different, as if the distinction between a young dragon and an adult dragon was forming.
Without time to think more, Peter notched another arrow, again aiming at a leader-like figure.
This time, Peter distinctly felt his strength was significantly greater, his arrow carrying a forceful wind as it shot forward.
Watching from afar, Peter saw another leader fall down.
The same situation occurred, another wave of energy arrived.
Just then, arrows rained down towards Peter and their side, a massive number of arrows like blocking insects in the sky with an astonishing sound, flying over everyone’s heads with more hitting the city wall.
This time, the scream of agony rose in volume, many of Peter’s nearby companions fell.
Such a powerful rain of arrows!
"Quick, use shields!"
The Count Captain roared.
Peter had no shield, so all he could do was watch the shield-wielding soldiers raise their shields.
"Archers, shoot!"
The Count Captain roared again.
This time, Peter heard the sound of a powerful attack coming from the city wall, various strikes hitting the wall, Martial Artists at a higher level striking continuously with their great swords.
Caring for nothing else, Peter, relying on his instincts, stood up and began shooting arrows down below the city wall.
With the protection of shields, Peter’s arrows managed to kill one person each.
"Use swords!"
The Count Captain roared.
Peter also knew that by now, the enemies had reached right below the walls, everyone started scaling the wall, archery was clearly ineffective, they could only use great swords.
No logs or such were used for attacks from above; everyone was chopping downward with the force of their great swords.
This kind of battle was something Peter Brown had never seen before.
"Those above the Martial Artist level, use your great swords to chop down. Warriors, shoot with your bows, and use the crossbows to shoot as well," the Count Captain shouted loudly.
Now, all Peter could do was continually shoot out arrows.
Since the battle began, in a very short time, Peter had killed at least fifteen people, a count he had not kept himself.
Glancing around, Peter spotted a General wielding a great sword, charging forward.
Realizing that this person possessed the cultivation of a Martial Master, Peter felt a stir in his heart and quietly took out a special arrow.
This was an arrow that Peter had specifically designed, containing a crystal core. Upon hitting the target, it would automatically activate its awesome power, somewhat similar to a Crystal Core Gun.
This arrow looked nearly the same as the others Peter was using, but the power of its crystal core attack was just too great.
After aiming at the General, Peter immediately shot the arrow.
The charging General, though armored, had some unprotected areas on his neck during movement, and he didn’t expect someone to target him, shouting loudly to command his personnel to push forward.
When Peter’s arrow reached him, he didn’t take the arrow seriously and casually attempted to block it with his great sword.
However, the unexpected happened at that moment. The seemingly powerless arrow suddenly exploded, and then it accelerated enormously in speed.
He couldn’t block it!
His great sword swung at empty air.
At this, the General’s complexion changed. He rallied all his strength in an attempt to block the arrow, but then another unexpected thing occurred—the arrow exploded again.
With the explosion, the arrow shaft shattered, and then the arrowhead sped up even more.
Thud!
A sound that even the General could hear emitted.
Following this sound, a large amount of blood sprayed from the General’s neck.
Clutching at his neck, the General, baffled, fell down.
The battlefield, amidst fierce fighting, didn’t expect that a General, rushing from the rear, would fall.
Only Peter distinctly felt gaining a lot more power, his ten dragons had all turned into adult dragons.
"The General is dead!"
Someone cried out loudly.
Following this cry, everyone then realized that indeed, the General lay there.
The advancing crowd panicked, retreating like a tidal wave.
Repelled?
The city defenders were all somewhat stunned; no one had expected the battle to end this way.
At that moment, the Count Captain also questioned in confusion, "Who killed that General?"
Several people’s eyes then turned towards Peter.
"Was it you who killed him?" the Count Captain, completely surprised that someone at the Warrior Level could kill a peak Martial Master, looked at Peter incredulously.
"Just a chance shot, I didn’t expect it to hit his neck right on," Peter replied, feigning embarrassment.
A chance shot, indeed!
People’s gazes towards Peter were filled with complex emotions.
