Everyone sat down after shaking hands.

Henry Carter looked around at everyone seated, then said, "The main content of today’s meeting is about competing for projects. As we all know, although we are responsible for the current project, it is obviously nearing its end. If we cannot secure new projects, we’ll have nothing to do."

Peter Brown knew that from that moment on, he was entangled with the reservoir project.

Although he realized this, Peter Brown didn’t show it on his face and sat there with an indifferent demeanor.

The meeting ended quickly, and Peter Brown then went to the operations department.

"Get me all the materials on the Riverwater Valley Reservoir in the county. I need to study them."

Everyone in the company knows this, and the project is basically hopeless for the branch office. The major competitor wasn’t a governmental entity but a private company that used a bidding ring strategy with borrowed qualifications, and notably, they have established strong relations. I suspect they have already made arrangements with the relevant personnel, and once the bidding starts, it’ll likely go to them."

Only then did Peter Brown learn of these circumstances. He asked, "What kind of person is this?"

"A boss in the city, named Huxley Taylor, who has some connections. If there’s expansion and increased budget, I suspect they might be manipulating it from behind. Henry Carter should be well aware of this; the fact that he’s handed the task to you clearly means to put you in a difficult spot."

With a clearer picture, Peter Brown was actually less worried. He inquired further about the mobile game company, and Reid Nelson, full of confidence, reported many of her tasks.

After hanging up, Peter Brown sat there and began contemplating seriously. He figured this was a hurdle he needed to overcome. If he could clear this challenge, there might be benefits for him as well.
