Chapter 1610: Chapter 1609: The Feelings of the Carter Clan Siblings
Rylan Williams’s elder sister also sighed at this moment and said, "Peter, you’re really considerate. Someone like you should be properly nurtured."
"Definitely, definitely, Mr. Williams, I’ll head back to work then. I’ll report any situation to you," Peter said.
"Take care, Peter," Rylan Williams replied.
Rylan Williams never expected that the person who came to visit him at the branch would be the one he was planning to deal with; this filled him with profound guilt towards Peter Brown, thinking that this youngster was really not bad. If utilized properly, he could prove to be an asset. With this in mind, promoting him to the director position was also possible. As for Ivy Cooper?
When he thought of Ivy Cooper, Rylan Williams became somewhat distracted; that woman really was beautiful.
A few hours later, Rylan’s elder sister brought Peter back and then looked at him and said, "Peter, when you’re at your new unit, you should also cultivate some talent. Regardless of what you think, the fact that someone thought to visit you at such a time shows their attitude. You can’t let them lose heart; otherwise, how will you lead people in the future?"
"Sister, I really didn’t expect him to come and see me. I know a bit about his situation, and it’s true he doesn’t have any significant backing. I was originally thinking about asserting my authority by making an example of him. I never expected that he would be fluent in three foreign languages and be no less skilled in computer knowledge than me. How can a farmer be so capable?"
"He’s that capable?"
Wendy Collins was also surprised as she looked at her brother.
Rylan Williams chuckled wryly and said, "I even suspected he might have used the network to create those sounds in my room. Only after the network experts from the province inspected everything and found no issues did I let go of that suspicion."
Laughing, Wendy Collins said, "You thought too highly of him. Even the most capable person can’t do that. Besides, the network experts were specially called in by your brother-in-law. If someone as capable as that had operated anything, there certainly would have been traces. They didn’t find any issues, so this really has nothing to do with Peter Brown."
Rylan Williams nodded vigorously and said, "You’re right, when I think about it, my target for asserting my authority was chosen incorrectly!"
Wendy Collins said, "Since he’s so capable, why is he still at your lousy company?"
Rylan Williams laughed and said, "Now that I think about it, I realize that we overestimated him. He’s fundamentally a farmer by origin. I reckon even he does not fully comprehend his own capabilities."
"Are you saying he doesn’t know his own worth?"
Rylan laughed and said, "That really might be the case. He hardly ever left the County Town. Coming to visit me this time, I suppose he mustered up the courage. It’s not easy at all!"
Wendy Collins chuckled and said, "Since that’s the case, his abilities definitely have promising prospects. Our Carter family also needs such talented individuals. Let’s cultivate him first and see. If he really turns out to be good, then later you can recommend him to the family."
"I got it. To speak honestly, I don’t have any actual conflict with him. If used right, he certainly can be an asset. Besides, the branch office does need someone like him to help with passing information and such," Rylan Williams mused.
"It’s good that you understand. As for that matter with Ivy Cooper, I suggest you not associate too much with her. The old master is very unhappy about this, and if you entangle yourself with that woman, be careful lest the old master deals with you."
"Understood. That woman can’t work for now anyway, it’s alright to just hang her name in the office and let her stay at home on leave."
"You’re doing the right thing. You’re not expected to achieve anything in the branch office; it’s just to avoid the scrutiny. After the storm passes, the old master will give you a new position; don’t end up in a situation where he stops looking after you."
The two discussed Peter’s matter, while at this time, Peter himself was busy making a phone call.
Reid Nelson was surprised upon receiving Peter’s call. Hearing that he had arrived in the provincial city, she hurriedly offered to pick up Peter, but he asked her for the location and took a taxi over.
At the entrance of the High-tech Park in the provincial city, Reid Nelson, dressed in professional attire, stood waiting and waved at Peter as soon as she saw him arrive.
"This place is nice!"
Peter had been observing all along the way and felt a sense of grandeur, especially when seeing young men and women bustling about, which was just like scenes from the movies. He agreed with Reid Nelson’s decision to start a business in such a place.
"This is the high-tech park that the province is specifically supporting. Many tech companies have set up here. The main point is to turn this into a demonstration base. The provincial policies allow any company with a technology focus to use the premises for free for one year, so we can save a significant amount of money," Reid Nelson said while walking beside Peter, explaining the place to him.
"Let’s take a look then," replied Peter.
Guided by Reid Nelson, Peter arrived at a sizable office space where at a glance, several young people were busily at work.
Once inside Reid Nelson’s office, Peter chuckled, "This place is really nice."
"It’s nice alright, but in a year, they’ll charge us rent. Although there’s a considerable discount, the location we’ve chosen is not small, so there’s significant pressure," she said.
Peter chuckled, "Is 500,000 enough?"
"If we save on rent and other expenses, and with three years of tax exemption, we should be able to spare the funds. If we budget carefully, it should be enough," Reid Nelson said.
"Speaking of which," she continued, "the company is nearly set up, and as the chairman, you need to deal with your paperwork. Since you’re here today, let’s get some of the urgent formalities sorted out."
"I have to return today," Peter said, troubled.
"No worries, this is a priority support area for the province, and everything is streamlined. All procedures can be dealt with in one stop here. Let’s go take care of it now," urged Reid Nelson.
Reid Nelson was a woman of action, pulling Peter along with the documents and heading out the door.
It was indeed quick; a few hours later, all paperwork was completed, and a new tech company called Star Network Technology, with a registered capital of a million dollars, was born. There were two shareholders, with Peter holding 90% of the shares and Reid Nelson holding the remaining 10%.
After some thought, Peter added another 500,000 in funding. Having more money made things easier to manage, and besides, he was full of confidence in his brand-new mobile game.
Peter wasn’t the type to just leave everything in Reid Nelson’s hands; he monitored through his cell phone and even, while she was out, inserted the small program he had created into the system.
