Chapter 1603: Chapter 1602: Making Money

Sitting in front of the computer and thinking for a while, Peter Brown simply stopped pondering and opened the futures trading website.

Recently, after learning about economics, Peter had delved into online silver and crude oil futures and had unexpectedly discovered some situations. There were indeed legitimate companies, but many companies were engaged in deceitful tactics. After Peter used a program to access their networks, the more he saw, the more shocked he felt, prompting him to take action against these futures companies.

The companies Peter targeted were those that engaged in delayed transactions. When the prices rose or fell, they would jam the network, preventing customers from conducting normal transactions.

The accounts of the customers would be frozen so they could no longer trade. After freezing, the operators would manipulate the market prices causing the customers to incur losses. This was one of the website’s favorite tactics.

After investigating the website, Peter covertly set up an account, then hacked into the site’s settings using his technical skills to manipulate trades.

Ironically, after giving one hundred thousand dollars to his uncle and spending 300,000 on buying a house, he was left with less than 200,000. Yet, through covert operations, Peter had already made 700,000. After giving 500,000 to Reid Nelson, he still had 200,000 left and now planned to double it once more.

Initially, Peter adhered to the rules and used normal operations. However, after secretly observing through the program, righteous anger surged in him. The website was truly unscrupulous, not only in delaying transactions but also in manipulating trades against clients who had substantial funds, quickly swallowing up their money entirely.

Seeing this, Peter stopped playing by the rules. He hacked into the system, then simulated a winning process, directly transferring the money to an account. After several detours, even a computer expert arriving later would not be able to trace that Peter had taken the money.

Picking up the teacup, Peter took a sip and smiled. He had just illegitimately earned another 200,000, and since Reid Nelson’s departure, his finances had once again reached 500,000.

After finishing these activities, Peter’s script booted up, directly starting to monitor the company’s internal operations.

At that time, in a room at the China Futures Exchange, technical staff and company leaders were all seriously watching the computers.

"What’s happening?" the overweight leader frowned and turned to the technical director who was operating the system.

With a bitter smile, the technical director said, "We’ve lost the trace. We absolutely can’t lock onto him. The account is destroyed again; it happens every time. He takes tens of thousands and leaves when we are unprepared."

Stamping his foot, the fat man said sternly, "Search, at all costs find him, he dares to rob from me!"

"Mr. Barker, I’ve tried my best. I even brought in a friend to help track him, but to no avail. With his skills, even if he hacks our account, he can completely get away with it."

Mr. Barker was stunned, he quickly asked, "Really?"

The technical director nodded forcefully and said, "He might as well come and go as he pleases in our system. He can wipe all traces clean. If it were someone else, they would have transferred all our money by now. It’s probably just for fun. But if we provoke him, the consequences are unimaginable!"

Mr. Barker’s sweat began to drip, he asked loudly, "What should we do?"

The room looked at one another. The technical director said, "Mr. Barker, to be honest, I’m completely out of ideas, unless we leave this industry altogether. Otherwise, he can take whatever amount he wants from us."

The people in the room were at a loss, staring at each other.

"How can we contact him, would paying him off work?" Mr. Barker didn’t want to continue discussing exposing him; just thinking about this mysterious person occasionally hacking in to take some money was too much for him to bear.

A deputy manager of the company suggested, "Let’s call the police."

The technical director said, "Unless the police are extremely skilled and can find and catch him, otherwise, offending such an expert, if he sets his sights on us, there’s nothing we can do. I’m also worried about one more thing; he might be from some agency, and he may have collected our illegal operation data as well. If it gets into the wrong hands, the consequences are unimaginable!"

"Damn it!"

Once again, everyone was at a loss for words.

At that moment, Peter was sipping his tea and watching these people through the camera, listening to their conversation, and smiling. In front of his computer knowledge, they had no power to retaliate.

Listening to their discussions, Mr. Barker said helplessly, "This isn’t just one issue!"

The technical director said, "He has already broken through all our settings, Mr. Barker, what I fear the most is that one day he will decide to just take all our money, and then we would have nowhere to cry."

Peter was also moved at that moment. Such a company was completely about cheating and stealing money, keeping them running was a disaster - best to just bring them down.

Thinking this, Peter quickly started typing on the computer.

After a session of typing, Peter realized there was only a million dollars left in the account, much of the money had already been transferred away.

Seeing the a million dollars, Peter thought it was still money, and using his technical methods, he transferred the money out, almost traveling around the world before it reached one of his accounts.

After completing the transaction, Peter looked back at the room through their computers.

Looking at the accounts, the people in the room were aghast.

"Shut down the company!"

Mr. Barker yelled out loud, truly terrified. Faced with such an expert, he had no power to resist. As for calling the police, Mr. Barker didn’t even consider it. His company was fraudulent to begin with, unregistered, a type that scams one deal at a time. If a serious inquiry was initiated, it would only make matters worse.

Soon, the futures company had disappeared, with Mr. Barker also leaving in his car.

Shutting down the computer, Peter shook his head. Now, his account had once again reached 1.5 million dollars; he wondered how much more Reid Nelson and the others might need.

At that moment, Peter further realized that making money was really a simple matter for him. Even if he did nothing, just by diverting the income from those illegal companies, he believed no one would dare call the police, and perhaps the income from corrupt officials could also be acquired using this method.

Thinking this, Peter almost couldn’t resist taking action, but he took several deep breaths and eventually dismissed the idea.
