Chapter 1594: Chapter 1593: Building Momentum_1
Tobia Armstrong asked in detail about Peter Brown’s situation and was also somewhat surprised; he never expected Peter to have such capabilities.
"It seems that listing Peter Brown as one of the company’s talents was the correct decision. Report all of this information to us, and give the families the preferential treatment they deserve."
After ending the call, Henry Ford’s face already showed a smile, and then he dialed Matthew Gardiner’s number and said, "Mr. Gardiner, another incident has occurred."
Matthew Gardiner laughed and said, "I’m in the middle of negotiating something, what’s the rush?"
"It’s not that issue; there’s no need for the publicity anymore. The whole situation has taken a turn."
"No need for publicity?"
"Yes, it’s unnecessary, a big event has happened. Do you remember Uriel Smith from the head office I told you about last time?"
"Yeah, but it’s a shame I can’t help you much."
"Haha, no need for your help now, Uriel Smith has fallen from power!"
"What did you say?"
Henry Ford then recounted the entire situation to Matthew Gardiner.
After listening to Henry’s explanation, Matthew Gardiner was speechless for a long time, then expressed his amazement, "Really?"
"Couldn’t be truer."
"Hadley, since Comrade Peter Brown is proficient in three foreign languages, keeping him in your company is a waste of his talent. My suggestion is to second him to our city; we also need such talent here."
"Mr. Gardiner, this won’t work; our Group’s chairman also knows about his abilities; definitely, we can’t let him go."
Matthew Gardiner thought for a moment and then said, "How about this, I’ll also give you a hand. Let’s make this a bigger deal. I’ll have the leaders from the Investment Promotion Office come to your company for assistance, to borrow Peter for a few days. What do you think?"
"A temporary transfer?"
"Right, just borrowing him for a few days. This time the province is holding a business promotion event, and we are desperately short of interpreters. How about asking him to help out for a few days?"
"He’s not really going to leave?" At this moment, Henry Ford saw Peter as a lifeline and was unwilling to let him go at all costs.
Matthew Gardiner then laughed and said, "I know what you’re thinking; rest assured, it’s just a loan for a few days. It won’t affect your operations. Besides, this situation is not bad for you. If people from the city are coming to borrow someone, any doubts about him not being a talent will be dispelled, right?"
After thinking it over for a while, Henry Ford said, "Fine, send someone over today, and we’ll put on a show."
The two chatted for a while longer before finally hanging up.
After the call, Henry pondered for a moment and then dialed Tobia Armstrong’s number to inform him about the city wanting to borrow Peter Brown temporarily.
At this moment, Tobia Armstrong’s mind became active; he thought to himself that if this young man really had connections with The Higher-Ups, letting him go might not be a good thing.
With that in mind, he said seriously, "If he is a talent, we should try to keep him as much as possible. Our company needs to develop and expand overseas, and we need talent in this area."
"Please rest assured, leader, I will handle this matter well."
Excitement surged in Henry’s heart, knowing that as long as he maintained a good relationship with Peter, The Higher-Ups would have to reconsider before making any moves against him.
Sure enough, as people at the branch office were privately discussing Uriel Smith’s plight, another shocking piece of news came through.
The city officials came to the branch office asking to borrow Peter Brown, who spoke three foreign languages.
"Peter Brown knows three foreign languages?"
"Him? A Farmer!"
"It must be fake, right? Has Hadley run out of options to make up such a ridiculous story?"
While everyone had not yet finished their discussion, another piece of news came through; reportedly, the City Investment Bureau had specifically sent three people who spoke the three foreign languages to the site to test Peter.
"Everyone, come and see. I want to see for myself if this person Hadley calls a talent really speaks three foreign languages."
The branch office staff all rushed towards the sports field and soon a crowd gathered.
There, they indeed saw city officials conversing with Peter Brown.
Henry had microphones and other equipment set up in the office that day, so everyone could hear the content of the conversation directly.
Those standing around listened to the city officials speaking loudly in foreign languages, while Peter responded fluently in conversation.
Actually, most could not understand, but hearing Peter’s smooth, unhesitating dialogue, they all felt it was quite impressive.
"Damn, he really does know his stuff!"
"Although I don’t understand it, it sounds even more fluent than the city officials!"
"I knew Peter was awesome, I just didn’t know how awesome he was!"
"Look, each of the three city officials is speaking a different language, and Peter, just one person, is speaking all three without getting mixed up. That’s really badass!"
"Who says Peter is not a talent? Try having a conversation in a foreign language yourself if you can."
"He’s really a Farmer?"
All sorts of discussions spread, and now no one dared to say Peter wasn’t up to the task.
At this point, Peter had no choice; Henry invited everyone to test him in front of a crowd, so he had to respond accordingly.
To be honest, the few people from the city who had come over were much better than those from the county, but after conversing with them, Peter realized that he was not inferior to them, and for the first time, he understood his level was really good.
Facing so many workers in conversation made Peter somewhat uncomfortable, but he managed to get through it and wiped the sweat from his forehead, thinking this hurdle was finally behind him.
Henry’s eyes were filled with smiles, and he said to the onlookers, "I know ever since I suggested giving Peter housing benefits, there have been various private discussions, with people thinking I am unfair, blaming me for all sorts of strange things. Today, you all have seen Peter’s capabilities. I don’t even need to mention three foreign languages; if any of you can fluently speak one, I, Henry Ford, will acknowledge you as a talent. Is there anyone?"
Everyone looked at each other and gave a bitter smile. There were indeed those who spoke English, but to converse as fluently as Peter, that really was not possible.
Henry continued, "You may think that our company doesn’t need such talent, but you’d be wrong if you thought so. The Group has a development strategy; our next step is to go international. We also need to step out into the world. With abilities like Peter’s, in my opinion, he is underutilized in our company. He is a talented man. See, even the City Investment Bureau came to test him; they want to recruit Peter to help for a few days. Talent is sought after wherever it goes. Peter might not even consider staying with us for long. I, Henry Ford, have spoken. If you’re talented, I will definitely use you. As long as you’re talented, there’s room for you to develop in our company. What I fear is that you’re not talented!"
