Chapter 1582: Chapter 1581 Investment_1

Last night, Peter Brown didn’t know how much wine he had drunk; he had no idea how he got back to his place and woke up the next day with a headache.

"Director Wang, good morning." Walking down the street, Peter Brown noticed that people’s attitudes toward him had changed a bit, showing a kind of warmth.

At first, Peter Brown felt a bit uncomfortable with everyone calling him "Director Wang," but gradually, seeing that everyone called him that, Peter Brown could only accept it. Of course, he felt a bit of excitement in his heart. From now on, he would be part of the middle management of the subsidiary. Although this management position didn’t have much power, it was still a step up.

The most important thing was that he had passed this test and, when he reflected on the fusion situation, Peter Brown distinctly felt the fusion accelerating.

When he entered the office, Reid Nelson had already arrived and, smiling, said to Peter Brown, "You were pretty heavy on the booze last night. We had to help you back, you know? You even vomited all over Captain Cook’s car."

Peter Brown said awkwardly, "Everyone insisted on toasts so much. I really drank too much. My head still hurts now."

Reid Nelson smiled and said, "You’re the person who’s climbed the ladder fastest in our subsidiary."

Peter Brown wasn’t sure what Reid Nelson was thinking and didn’t offer any explanation, since he was now in a leadership position anyway.

After cleaning the office a bit, the two sat down.

That’s when Peter Brown realized Ivy Cooper hadn’t arrived yet.

"Where’s Ivy Cooper?"

Reid Nelson glanced at Ivy Cooper’s seat and said, "She fought for the deputy director position for a long time, and just when she seemed about to get it, she didn’t make it. Don’t you think she might be upset?"

Peter Brown gave a bitter smile; that was indeed a difficult question to answer.

Reid Nelson said, "She also drank a lot last night, got drunk before you did."

Peter Brown said, "To be honest, even though I’ve been promoted, who knows how long it will last."

Reid Nelson knew what Peter Brown was thinking and fell silent as well, clearly worried about the same thing.

The whole morning passed without seeing any of the leaders come to work, as if they had all suddenly disappeared.

Peter Brown perked up and took out the study materials he had to review, one by one. Even with his strong memory, there were things that needed to be understood, and Peter Brown knew that enriching himself was the key.

When it was time to leave for lunch, Peter Brown went to his uncle’s house.

Archie Williams had been waiting for Peter Brown’s arrival, and as soon as Peter Brown walked in, Archie Williams scrutinized him from head to toe, then laughed and said, "You’ve climbed the ranks pretty fast, young man!"

Peter Brown sat down and replied, "It’s all thanks to Uncle’s connections."

Archie Williams shook his head, "Don’t lay the blame on me. I know Henry Ford far better than you do. He’s a man who won’t lift a finger unless there’s profit to be had. Even for getting you a position at the branch office, it cost me a great deal of effort. Securing you that job was his way of repaying me, but the idea of him promoting you for my sake is something I would be the first to doubt. I have always been curious about what exactly you did for him that made him promote you so quickly as if you were his right-hand man."

As he spoke, Archie Williams’s gaze rested on Peter Brown.

Indeed, Uncle truly sees things clearly!

When Peter heard his uncle speak in this manner, he couldn’t help but inwardly praise him, and his confidence in helping his uncle grew stronger.

Seeing his uncle’s eager expression, Peter smiled and said, "There are some things I’d rather not tell you, but I can tell you this much—I provided him with some crucial information during their struggle."

A look of ’I knew it’ flashed in Archie Williams’s eyes, and he nodded slightly, "I feel like Henry Ford was a bit hasty in promoting a group of his trusted followers this time. It indicates that something is going to happen. You need to be extra vigilant on your own."

It’s truly a waste that uncle doesn’t mix in the world of officialdom!

Peter thought for a moment and said, "Uncle, since you’re aware of this situation, let me share my thoughts with you to see if they make sense."

"Go ahead."

"You’re right, uncle. From various indications, I have a premonition that Henry Ford might either be in trouble or could be transferred. If he leaves, it won’t be easy for you to continue working here. Have you considered what you’ll do next?"

Archie Williams sighed, lighting a cigarette and taking a drag.

"Peter, I’ve thought about what you’re considering. The biggest problem for me right now is the lack of funds. When I heard you wanted to make an investment, I started thinking about this project that I’ve always wanted to do but haven’t been able to," he said.

"Uncle, tell me, what kind of project is it?" Peter was genuinely surprised to find his uncle had his own ideas and felt instantly happier.

"Our county is situated in a great environment and is developing quickly. There is also a significant demand for stone material. It just so happens that I’ve done some undercover investigation, and there are stone resources in Clear Water Village that can be mined. The place isn’t far from the city and is easily accessible. If we set up a stone factory, there’s no worry about sales. Moreover, the quality of the stone in that area is very high. If handled well, making a fortune is a certainty."

Looking at his uncle, Peter’s face broke into a smile, "It seems uncle has thought things through."

Archie Williams said, "I know you have 1.5 million dollars, but we don’t need that much. An investment of a million dollars should be enough to sort everything out. We can develop by rolling funds. Regarding the company, I think since you’re contributing the capital, you should run the operations, and I’ll just offer a helping hand with management."

"Uncle, since we have such a good project, here’s what I’m thinking. We register and establish a stone material company with me holding 51% of the shares and you holding 49%. I generally won’t interfere with the management, and you’ll handle all the company’s operational matters. How does that sound?" Peter suggested.

Archie Williams hastily waved his hands, "How could I take so many shares? That’s too much, too much. I can’t accept that."

Peter insisted earnestly, "I know that many times friends cooperate well at the start, but once a bit of money is involved, they turn into enemies. It happens a lot, and I don’t want such a thing to happen in our family. You must take the shares. When we operate formally and distribute profits based on shares, only then can we develop sustainably. When you’re the General Manager and have the whole company in your hands, that’s when I’ll be at ease. If my dad wants to get involved, we can just arrange a middle management position for him—he doesn’t have the ability to control the whole situation."

Having said all this, Archie Williams thought for a moment and then said, "Let’s do it this way then. You’ll hold 70% of the shares of the stone factory, and I’ll take 30%. If you don’t agree, forget about the whole thing."

Seeing that Archie Williams had made up his mind, Peter nodded, "Alright, I’ll hold 60%, you take 30%, and we’ll give 10% to my dad. I’ll transfer a million dollars to your account, and if that’s not enough, you can ask me for more. Anyway, we’ll use up to 1.5 million dollars for the operation."
