Chapter 1570: Chapter 1569: 1.5 million_1

I don’t know what’s going on today, but my stomach is really killing me. Although my mind is preoccupied with the price negotiation, Peter Brown simply can’t get up and has no choice but to squat down and wait patiently.

While Peter squats unable to rise, the executives at Divine Domain Corporation are getting anxious, their eyes never leaving the screen.

"Alas, we bid too low, it seems he’s not satisfied!"

"Our game has been really dazzling these past two months, he must be aware of our situation. Offering one hundred thousand, in his eyes, must seem like a slap in the face!"

"I hope we can still salvage this. If he releases that plug-in, our game will collapse instantly."

With gritted teeth, Matthew Lee said, "Hang a million and see what happens."

This time, no one objected. Everyone could do the math. Although it was a sudden million dollars, it wasn’t much of an issue for the group, since they had already spent more.

But even though Edward Nelson made a bid of a million dollars, the other party still did not show any signs of life.

"Damn it, how much money does this kid want!"

Matthew Lee turned to Edward Nelson and asked, "Can your friends patch our vulnerabilities, make his program unworkable?"

Edward Nelson gave a bitter smile and said, "I’ve tried that already and even put out a bounty, but sadly no one has been able to crack his code, let alone patch the vulnerabilities."

"Damn it, we’ve got so many technical staff yet can’t hold a candle to just one person!"

While they were worrying, Peter finally solved his problem and returned to his office rubbing his stomach.

"One hundred thousand is good, might as well sell it to them," Peter mumbled to himself. The sum of 100,000 yuan was indeed satisfying to him deep down.

After sitting down, Peter’s eyes widened as he saw the message on QQ, and he felt somewhat dazed.

"How much?"

His vision seemed to blur for a moment; he blinked and looked again at QQ to confirm that it indeed was a million dollars.

Must be a typo, right?

Peter quickly sent a message back.

"A million dollars..."

Peter was exclaiming at how high the offer was, trying to vent the shock he felt.

As Divine Domain’s team was tensely waiting, Edward Nelson suddenly exclaimed, "He replied!"

Everyone’s gaze locked onto the computer immediately.

Seeing the line typed by Peter, everyone’s heart was suspended again.

"What does he mean by this?" someone asked, puzzled.

"It looks like he’s still not satisfied with us!"

"Yes, I feel the same. So many ellipses, and he took so long to reply, it feels like he’s mocking us!"

"Right, it must be because he thinks we’re being stingy!"

"Mr. Lee, what should we do?" Edward Nelson looked to Matthew Lee for direction.

Now, Matthew Lee was in a bind. He couldn’t quite grasp what Peter meant and stood there clenching his fists, unsure of what to say.

After a while, Matthew Lee finally said, "Ask for his opinion, see how much he demands?"

"If you think it’s not appropriate, speak up," Edward Nelson replied swiftly.

Peter had calmed down somewhat by this point and had reviewed the previous messages to realize that they were raising the offer.

Strange, they seem to value the program quite a bit. Could it be that I’ve been undervaluing my own plug-in?

Seeing the new message from Edward Nelson, Peter hesitated. He clearly saw their urgency, but he was still satisfied with the price. To sell for a million dollars would be striking it rich.

"One million," Peter typed decisively, with not a single punctuation mark.

"One million?"

Seeing the reply from Peter, everyone murmured again.

With no extra words, just those three, what was he thinking!

Matthew Lee said to the people around, "We all know how crucial the game is for our company, I won’t elaborate. No matter the cost, we can’t let the game fail. We have to raise the price or we won’t be able to smooth this over. After all, a computer genius would surely be aware of some things online."

"Mr. Lee is right, we shouldn’t sacrifice the big for the small. As long as the game continues, we’ll make more money, and everyone will get their fair share. I think we should just add another fifty thousand. We’re spending so much on game rights anyway, might as well consider it a fee to avoid disaster," a vice president suggested.

After Matthew Lee looked around at everyone, he instructed Edward Nelson, "Tell him, 1.5 million dollars, take it or leave it, that’s our final offer!"

Edward Nelson typed the message quickly, making their stance clear.

"Let’s be friends. 1.5 million dollars, final offer. Sell it to us and it won’t appear online again. Do we have a deal? This is our last bid."

At this, Peter couldn’t help but laugh; he had never expected them to add another fifty thousand.

1.5 million dollars!

"Okay," Peter said.

Everyone at Divine Domain finally saw this word and a sense of relief spread across their faces, some even letting out a long sigh of relief.

With a decisive gesture, Matthew Lee said to Edward Nelson, "Finalize the terms with him, we absolutely can’t afford to have the program reappear after paying."

Edward Nelson quickly typed out the company’s demands on the computer.

Peter then provided an account number, indicating that they could transfer the money, and he wouldn’t trouble their company anymore.

To show his sincerity, Peter even sent them a package with many of the game’s vulnerabilities.

Noticing the content Peter sent, Edward Nelson’s eyelid twitched furiously; he was seeing the game he had created for the first time in all its unflattering detail.

The leaders were also inspecting the content, and being mostly experts themselves, after a while, each one’s face showed a bitter expression; the game was riddled with holes through Peter’s eyes.

At that moment, Edward Nelson breathed a sigh of relief and said, "The other party is definitely a top-notch expert. Experts have their pride; once they have the money, they won’t cause trouble. Go ahead and transfer the money."

"Transfer the money!"

Matthew Lee waved his hand; they had come this far and couldn’t hesitate anymore. The other party had shown goodwill; it would be unreasonable to hold back on the payment, right?

"Can we trace his account address?" a vice president still held out hope.

By now, Edward Nelson had been trying to track it and after a while sighed, "It’s passed through countless places, even several countries. There’s no way to start."

Everyone heaved a sigh.
