Chapter 1553: Chapter 1552: Reid Nelson Lays Her Cards on the Table_1
Looking at Reid Nelson, Peter Brown also had to admit that this woman was an extremely charming beauty; no wonder Vincent Clinton insisted on pursuing her.
"Since you decided to be with Vincent Clinton today, why did you call me?" Peter still asked a question he couldn’t understand himself.
Reid Nelson looked at Peter and said, "Actually, deep down, I really don’t want to be Vincent Clinton’s woman, but I felt so helpless. When you said you had something to discuss with me today, I thought I would use this situation to ask Heaven whether I really had to do this."
"If I hadn’t come, would you have let him have his way?"
Reid Nelson nodded firmly and said, "Yes, that’s exactly what I thought."
Peter was somewhat taken aback; he had not expected this woman to adopt such a method in a situation of helplessness, which left him speechless. The manipulations in this city were truly deep!
Unable to make sense of Reid Nelson’s thoughts, Peter did not continue to dwell on the matter.
Sitting there, both of them looked at the scenery.
After a while, Reid Nelson said, "Do you know? If Henry Ford falls, not only will I lose my position and possibly get kicked out of the company, but you won’t have good days ahead either. After all, even if you’re reluctant, you’ve been marked as one of Henry Ford’s people."
"I know."
Peter nodded.
Reid Nelson said, "What we can do now is to hope that Henry Ford does not step down."
Peter didn’t tell Reid Nelson about his own actions. Even though she confided in him, Peter still kept his guard up, considering the numerous manipulations he had learned from the multitude of books he had read.
"Reid, what should we do now? It’s obvious that Vincent Clinton won’t give up easily."
With a sigh, Emily Wilson said, "He won’t give up, then so be it. Since you truly showed up, I’ll just follow Heaven’s plan. After all, Vincent Clinton is just a manager. He doesn’t have the power to cover the sky. Moreover, even if Henry Ford falls, the successor would definitely be Christian Greenhill. You don’t know, but Christian has a very good relationship with Vivian Johnson. To my knowledge, Vivian is not simple. I feel she plays a key role in the whole affair, it’s just that for now I can’t figure out who exactly is behind her. Henry Ford’s troubles are definitely their doing behind the scenes."
"You haven’t told Edward Ford?" Peter asked.
Shaking her head, Reid Nelson said with a bitter smile, "Do you think Henry Ford is a good man? Men are all the same. You look at me with the same lustful eyes. If it weren’t for his former leader’s relationship, he would have pressured me long ago. He has come too close several times while dancing."
So there was that too!
Reid Nelson was now telling Peter everything.
Thinking this over, Peter looked at Reid Nelson and asked, "You’ve told me everything today, what do you want me to do?"
Reid Nelson’s eyes brightened, and she looked at Peter saying, "It seems you’re not so dumb after all."
As she spoke, Reid Nelson began to smile.
This woman!
Under the light, seeing Reid Nelson smile like that, with her ample bosom bouncing, Peter couldn’t help but feel his blood heat up.
Composing herself, Reid Nelson said, "Clearly, we are in the same situation now. If Henry Ford falls, both of us will be purged, so we should join forces to at least keep our current positions."
Peter agreed with this, nodding and saying, "That’s for sure."
"That’s good. Let me tell you, even if Henry Ford falls, we can’t let either Christian Greenhill or Vincent Clinton take the position. The best scenario is for someone unrelated to them to come from the outside. Only then can we secure our positions."
Peter had never really thought about this before; upon reflecting, it seemed even further than what he had considered. He was only focused on ensuring that Henry Ford remained in power, yet this woman had even considered the possibility of Ford’s downfall.
However, upon serious thought, Peter believed that Henry Ford remaining in power was more beneficial to him than his fall.
Reid Nelson looked at Peter and said, "As long as you ally with me, we can find dirt on these two men. If we expose them, both will fall."
"You’re not trying to climb the ladder yourself, are you?" Peter suddenly realized, after going around in circles, the woman had such intentions.
Reid Nelson looked at Peter with a complex expression and praised him again, "I didn’t expect your mind to be so sharp. What do you think about my seniority in this company?"
Peter spoke honestly, "I’ve only just arrived and don’t know the situation."
Reid Nelson laughed and said, "If Henry Ford gets in trouble and falls, would the people behind him feel comfortable?"
"Of course not."
"That’s right. I know Henry Ford’s character. If he finds out that those two are conspiring against him, he will definitely retaliate. If we hand over their dirt to Henry Ford, he’d be overjoyed. Based on my relationship with him, he would prefer me to step up to some degree. Even if I can’t be promoted to the top position, a deputy position is possible. If I put in some effort in this regard, I believe things could take a turn."
Saying this and looking at Peter, she added, "If we don’t try, how will we know whether it’s possible or not?"
"Do you already have some leverage over them?"
Peter now fully understood that Reid Nelson wanted him to do something for her.
"In Vincent Clinton’s office, there are some things in his safe. If we got them, taking him down wouldn’t be a problem," Reid Nelson said, as she looked at Peter.
"So you flirted with Vincent Clinton to get the upper hand?" Peter was surprised to discover that this woman, who usually seemed quiet in the office, had already made her move in secret.
"Henry Ford has a kept woman, where he stores some incriminating things. Christian Greenhill and his group are targeting that woman."
Shocked!
Peter was truly shocked, as he had never expected this quietly sitting office woman to have seen everything.
"You could’ve told Edward Ford all of this. I believe he would’ve been grateful to you."
Shaking her head, Reid Nelson said, "Henry Ford is not a good man, as I’ve told you. Dealing with him will lead to trouble eventually. Besides, if I get too close, I’ll be nothing more than his woman."
So that was her thought process!
Now Peter felt that he still had much to learn. There were many things he had only seen on the surface without understanding the essence. Compared to this woman, he certainly fell short. Previously, he had only known confrontation; now, he was realizing that the intrigue in these silent battles was equally lethal.
"What do you say? Are you willing to help me?" Reid Nelson looked at Peter expectantly.
