Chapter 1425: Chapter 1425 Pirates Arrive_1

The Huxing Empire’s territorial waters were rife with pirates, and with the empire’s power in decline, there was no one to deal with them. The coastal areas suffered greatly from their harassment, deterring many from taking official posts there, yet unexpectedly, Peter Brown chose to come here and develop an island.

Reynard Johnson couldn’t understand Peter Brown’s thinking and watched closely to see how Peter would manage his island.

Peter Brown wasn’t concerned about what others thought. Now that he had the island, the possibilities for what he could do were vast.

However, Peter Brown had a severe shortage of people.

Naturally, Peter Brown turned his attention to the pirates.

Although these pirates weren’t particularly capable, they could fight, and with them, Peter Brown had the manpower he needed.

Sitting cross-legged on the balcony, Peter Brown gazed toward the village, waiting for the fishermen to bring the pirates to him.

The next day at noon, a fleet of ships arrived, accompanied by a group of workers. Their main task was to help Peter Brown construct a factory.

Luckily, it was all prefabricated housing which could be constructed quickly. After leveling the land and laying the floor tiles, the machinery and equipment were set up.

There was no electricity here, only diesel generators.

Worried about the arrival of pirates, the construction team rushed to complete the installation and hastily departed.

Looking at the installed machinery and equipment, Peter Brown finally showed a smile on his face. With this equipment, he was not worried about how many enemies would come.

Afterwards, the villagers didn’t see Peter Brown leave the workshop. When eating, the Cook would deliver his meals to the door, knock, and then Peter would take away his bowls and utensils after eating.

Two days later, Peter Brown finally created a small box-like device using the equipment.

Carrying the box out, Peter Brown installed it on the roof of his villa.

Now, the next step was to wait for the pirates to come.

The weapon that Peter Brown had created was not a conventional one, but a kind of sonic device that could affect anyone within a three-kilometer radius.

As night fell, a suddenly awakened Peter Brown heard an alert and sat up abruptly.

He went inside the house and turned on a screen, only to see two large ships appearing on the sea ahead and many people disembarking from smaller boats, each armed and heading in his direction.

Looking again, he saw that some villagers were also hiding by the sea, probably waiting to greet these newcomers.

They were indeed coming!

Seeing this, Peter Brown knew that the pirates he had been waiting for had arrived.

If it were someone else seeing the hundreds of pirates arriving, armed with all sorts of heavy weapons, they would probably be terrified, but Peter Brown felt no fear at all, his heart filling with excitement. These pirates were, he estimated, about to become his first batch of subordinates.

Over the past few days, Peter had not had time to do anything special in the house. He had mainly been working on a sonic attack device, but to him, that was enough.

As Peter Brown watched the pirates approach, their leader Dave Hill was also observing the situation on the island. Having received inside information from the island, they knew that a new Town Chief had arrived who appeared to be wealthy and had brought a lot of machinery and equipment. To them, the island had long been an important supply base. There was fresh water and food on the island, and most importantly, many of their members were from the local fishermen. Peter Brown’s display of strength annoyed them, and naturally, they wanted to put him in his place.

Dave Hill didn’t initially want to send so many men over but remembering he hadn’t slept with one of his women on the island for quite some time, he led his team there himself.

Seeing the small boats heading to the island without any reaction from Peter Brown, Dave Hill smiled. Peter was just one man—no matter how good a fighter he was, there would be no issue. With so many weapons in hand, they could easily overpower him.

"Leave a few to watch the boats. The rest of you come ashore and let’s have some fun," Dave Hill said, gesturing confidently after ascertaining there was no danger.

Their main caution had not been about the island itself but about the county police forces on land. Now that they had confirmed no one was coming from land, subduing Peter Brown and making him listen to them seemed quite straightforward.

The boats reached the shore smoothly, and Dave Hill asked the villagers who came to meet them, "There’s been no trouble, right?"

"No issues. The guy’s sleeping like a log; he doesn’t know we’re here."

"Good. After we deal with him, we’ll have a feast in his villa!" The pirates all laughed heartily. If Peter Brown had any remarkable skills, they didn’t matter now. If obedient, he could become a subordinate; if not, they’d kill him and appoint a compliant chief in his place.

Dave Hill remarked, "I haven’t stayed at that villa for quite some time."

A subordinate suggested, "Why not just take the place for ourselves?"

"That’s definitely not an option. Then the police from the mainland would come after us, and we’re a bit short on manpower for that."

They continued talking and approached the villa with big strides, confident that even if Peter Brown had heavy weapons, they would be of no use against them.

Amidst the falling darkness, they even lit their torches.

The butler quickly went to Peter Brown’s room and knocked on the door.

Peter Brown opened the door and saw the butler’s anxious face. "Master, bad news, a large number of pirates have arrived."

Looking at the butler, Peter Brown revealed a smile of satisfaction, "Very good!"

The butler couldn’t understand why Peter Brown was so calm under the circumstances and said, "There are so many pirates this time, Master. What shall we do?"

Peter Brown replied, "No worries, I can handle them. Go back to sleep."

Unable to sleep and increasingly worried, the butler nevertheless saw Peter Brown’s composed demeanor and left reluctantly.

Peter Brown thought for a moment about the butler who wasn’t part of the pirates; it was still necessary to earn his loyalty.

Peter Brown walked over and switched on the sonic device.

At that moment, Peter Brown was wearing special earmuffs, so he himself was unaffected.
