Chapter 1422: Chapter 1422: Peter Brown Sells Shares_1
"Peter, this project is excellent. The wine we’ve tested on the market is selling like hotcakes. If it continues like this, we only need one month to recoup all our investments,"
With the efforts of all parties, the Fruitful Winery was built at remarkable speed, and the first batch of wine had already started to sell.
Reynard Johnson had gained the Johnson Family’s attention because of this project, and now, as he saw a great development on the horizon, he called Peter over and began to speak excitedly.
Peter said, "That’s right, if we continue at this pace, we should break even in one month, then every month we’ll see a profit of several hundred million."
"Your 10% of non-dilutable shares sure have made many people jealous!"
Reynard Johnson said this with significant meaning.
Peter was aware that the Johnson Family was also concerned about his allegiance. If he were to side with another party, the Johnson Family might not be able to maintain their influence in the company.
Considering this, and the current domestic and international situation, he too felt a sense of urgency.
"Secretary Johnson, if the price is right, I wouldn’t mind selling some shares."
"What did you say?"
Reynard Johnson stood up suddenly.
The Johnson Family, of course, wanted to buy the shares from Peter. The shares were clearly profitable, and now that Peter was considering selling, Reynard was naturally very tempted.
"You’re saying you want to sell your shares?"
"If the price is right, I could sell 5% of my shares; after all, I don’t have much money."
Reynard Johnson looked at Peter and asked, "Are you serious?"
"Yes."
"Sell them to me then. However much you sell, I’ll buy!"
At this point, Reynard added, "Additionally, I’ll help you get the position of Town Chief!"
The offer was laid out.
Peter looked at Reynard Johnson and said, "I’m not too interested in becoming the Town Chief, really. I just want to exchange some shares for money to buy some land."
"How much do you want?"
"Secretary Johnson, both large groups have invested one billion each, that’s two billion. The village has contributed land, and with my technology, the Fruitful Group should be worth three billion, right?"
Reynard Johnson nodded, knowing that the valuation was compressed by using influence; it was indeed worth that price.
Peter continued, "My 10% is worth around three hundred million. If I sell 5%, that would be 150 million. Of course, we can’t just go by that. Considering how well our wine is selling domestically, and the even bigger potential in international markets, we could say, conservatively, 500 million in profit a month. Do you agree?"
Reynard Johnson replied, "Yes, that’s what everyone can see."
"Ten billion. If you can come up with ten billion for me, I’ll sell you the 5% of shares."
Reynard calculated and genuinely thought that Peter’s asking price was not high; in fact, it was quite low. He couldn’t understand why Peter would do this and looked at him repeatedly, saying, "You could wait a bit longer, it might go higher."
Peter laughed and said, "I want to do some things on my own. If I became an official, sure, I could do things for the ordinary people, but that would be too limiting for me. My idea is to start my own business without being restricted by others."
Reynard Johnson understood this as well; everyone dreams of starting their own business. He asked, "Do you have any good projects in mind?"
"Not at the moment. I want to buy a piece of land first, preferably develop near the sea, and see if I can make it successful."
"We will discuss this matter. Wait for my news, and don’t sell to others. As long as you sell to us, we will take care of you in the future!"
By now, Reynard Johnson and Peter had become quite familiar with each other, and many words were spoken directly.
After a moment of hesitation, Reynard Johnson added, "There’s something I feel I should remind you of. In these tumultuous times, it’s not enough to have properties without the ability to protect them. Are you prepared for that?"
Peter replied, "After I get the ten billion, I will start investing in that area."
Although Reynard was unaware of the exact means Peter possessed, he quickly got moving. Ten billion was not a small amount, and he needed to raise the funds. This time, he planned to buy the 5% shares himself. Having an additional 5% would grant him significant influence in the company.
Peter left Reynard Johnson’s office with thoughts whirling in his head. As he turned a corner, he felt a body fall into his arms.
Because his balance was off, he toppled over.
Fortunately, as a cultivator, Peter saw at once that it was a girl, and realizing they were on the stairs, he knew a fall could severely injure her. With no other option, Peter decided to cushion her fall, letting her land on top of him.
In a split second, the girl felt her lips touch someone else’s.
Her mind went blank as she looked at Peter, completely dazed.
With a pop, Peter’s lip split slightly; although the fall as a cushion didn’t harm him, the girl had bitten him.
As they looked at each other, Peter’s eyes widened; he recognized the situation of the woman as Lorelei Fox, the Deputy County Chief of the county.
She was the county’s beautiful Chief, the subject of many a gaze during meetings, a sight for sore eyes just by being there.
Even though Peter had been with many women, he internally praised Lorelei Fox’s beauty.
And now, he had accidentally kissed this beautiful County Chief!
Then, Peter couldn’t help but let his hand glide across her waist.
As he felt her chest, he thought to himself that the beauty indeed had substance.
Lorelei Fox quickly became aware of Peter’s movements on her waist and even noticed his hand traveling down towards her bottom.
Blushing, Lorelei Fox glared fiercely at Peter, jumped up without a word, huffed, and walked away.
Peter laughed at this, finding the incident quite amusing.
After descending the stairs, Peter continued to consider his options. Not selling the shares would certainly be profitable, but he couldn’t wait for annual dividends. For him, time was of utmost importance now.
With each passing day, he received news that the domestic situation had completely changed, with potential civil unrest always on the horizon, and foreign threats preparing as well.
The situation in Huxing Kingdom was different from that in Hua Nation; the state of the country resembled that of the Republic era. If this continued, Peter knew a great war was about to break out, and he needed to get ready.
