Chapter 1410: Drive Up the Price_1

Chapter 1410: Chapter 1410: Drive Up the Price_1

Looking at those bottles of wine, Peter Brown started to ponder here. If he just handed it over to Reynard Johnson’s people to sell, he estimated the price wouldn’t be high. Taking advantage of the fact that it wasn’t highly valued yet, he should find a way to drive up the price himself.

He went over his network of relationships in his mind, of course, it was the network of relationships of his own in this time and space.

Peter immediately thought of his college classmate, Lillian Walker. Her family was very wealthy in the provincial city, and they even owned a large restaurant.

With this in mind, Peter took out Lillian’s number and called her.

"I say, old classmate, it’s rare for you to remember to call me!"

Lillian was also curious when she saw that it was Peter who called and joked.

"Old classmate, as expected, I only call you when I need something!"

"Tell me, what do you need my help with?"

Although their relationship wasn’t exactly close, it wasn’t bad either.

"I’m working in the township now and have some wine that I want to bring over to your place for a tasting. I don’t know if that would be possible?"

"Do you have a qualification certificate and other documents?"

"Yes, I have all kinds of certifications."

Reynard Johnson had many connections and helped with getting these documents sorted out.

"You know that if it’s not up to par, it won’t be sold at our place. Also, it’s just for a tasting, I can’t guarantee how much will be sold."

"I’ll come to the provincial city immediately, and you can decide after seeing it."

"Okay."

Lillian was very accommodating and didn’t refuse.

"Alexis White, pack up a few cases for me right away. I’m going to take them to the provincial city for promotion."

Peter had already had the cardboard boxes prepared and quickly packed them. Then the villagers carried them and followed Peter to the township.

After arriving at the township, Peter bought a train ticket and headed towards the provincial city with the wine.

It had been a long time since he’d taken such a journey. After rocking for a few hours, Peter finally arrived at the provincial city.

When he made the call, Lillian was actually the one who drove to pick him up herself.

After giving Peter a look, Lillian laughed and said, "So what’s up with you, township official? If it doesn’t work out, just come to the provincial city. Our house is in need of a high-level executive. Shall I arrange something for you?"

Then she laughed.

Lillian was beautiful, with a particular charisma of the merchant elite that attracted many men. However, Peter, who had seen many beautiful women, was not affected and simply smiled, "Being a township official is quite good, I’m very content now. I’ll come to you if there’s ever a day when I can’t make things work."

Lillian’s eyes brightened. She didn’t see that look of attraction in Peter’s eyes and thought to herself that this guy was quite special.

After the car arrived at the restaurant, Lillian had people help carry the few cases of wine inside.

Once seated, Lillian asked, "What are you thinking?"

"This is health wine we’ve created with a secret recipe, and the number one in our county values it highly."

"I know about Reynard Johnson from your county; he has connections with the higher-ups. If he values it, that means this stuff must be somewhat effective." Lillian actually knew some things about Reynard Johnson!

Peter said, "He will arrange someone to discuss the wine’s price, and I’m worried about undercutting the ordinary people. So, I came here to establish some reputation first, see what kind of pricing would be suitable."

Lillian looked at Peter and took the initiative to take out a wine bottle herself.

"Ah!"

She was quite surprised when she saw the wine bottle, which was very beautiful and liked at first glance.

"Where did you buy these lovely wine bottles?" she exclaimed.

"It’s made using our secret recipe, and we will use these bottles for this type of wine in the future."

"I say, no matter how nice the bottle is, if the wine inside isn’t good, the price won’t be high."

"Old classmate, don’t worry, the wine is definitely good. ’Nourishing yin and bolstering yang’ is not an empty boast. You’re a woman, and after you drink it, your menstrual pain will immediately improve."

Lillian had been suffering from menstrual pain these few days, something she hadn’t told anyone, and Peter’s words suddenly made her blush, and she retorted with feigned annoyance, "What are you saying!"

"If you don’t believe it, have a sip. The wine will ensure the sickness is relieved!"

"Really?"

Lillian was indeed struggling and looked towards Peter.

"Try it, what could go wrong in your office?"

Lillian laughed, "I didn’t think you would be so bold now! Alright, I’ll take a sip and see."

As the wine bottle was opened, a fragrance wafted out that entranced Lillian, who immediately praised it.

With a sip of wine, Lillian felt a warmth that surged directly down, her body heating up, and the pain she was feeling significantly lessened. Moreover, her work fatigue also remarkably improved.

"Good wine!"

Unable to resist, Lillian took another sip.

As she drank, Lillian felt her whole body relax.

Her eyes shining brightly at Peter, Lillian said, "It’s really good wine. Okay, I’ll push this wine for a few days, get some people to review it, and then have everyone help you set a price. How does that sound?"

"That would be great, thank you so much, old classmate."

"I have to say though, if this wine hits the market, my place must become a sales point."

"Agreed."

Peter was not someone to dilly-dally, and after settling matters, he took his leave.

Watching Peter’s determined departure, Lillian’s eyes sparkled, realizing for the first time a man had not lingered over her beauty.

Could it be this classmate was indeed that special?

Pushing these thoughts aside, Lillian’s strong-willed personality emerged, and she started instructing her staff to invite some people from the provincial liquor association for a wine tasting.

Peter didn’t leave, as the wine was key for him. He knew that once Reynard Johnson’s people arrived, they would likely treat it as a regular wine when ordering, which would be a serious loss for the villagers. While others might not know, Peter was aware of the wine’s many benefits; it was truly a good wine. Hence, he could afford some loss on the price, but not too much.

As it was rare for Peter to visit the provincial city, the place he most wanted to go was, of course, the Antique Trading Market and similar areas. After speaking to the cab driver, Peter headed towards the Antique Market.

Upon arriving, Peter looked around and saw that indeed, there was plenty of vintage goods for sale. As he walked along, Peter shook his head inwardly; there truly was no sign of cultivation here, and nothing he saw was of any use to him.

Could it be that this place really had none of these types of items?
