Chapter 1341: Chapter 1341: More Gains_1
The rural family had never expected the outcome, and they all gathered around in surprise as the young man came to.
"That’s it, he’s completely out of danger now. Just rest for a few days and he will recover. You can go get him checked," Peter Brown said indifferently. For a cultivator, this sort of poisoning was really a trivial matter. If it weren’t for the fact that he was currently low on inner strength, he would have directly used it to force the poison out.
"Benefactor!"
The old farmer suddenly knelt in front of Peter Brown.
Peter Brown helped him up and said, "No need to thank me, we are engaged in an exchange."
The old man handed the furnace to Peter Brown and said, "This furnace has been passed down through many generations in my family and has always been of no use to us. Divine Doctor, since you like it, please take it."
Peter did not stand on ceremony; he accepted it and said, "This furnace is for alchemy, but truly, it is of no use to your family."
The old farmer nodded emphatically and said, "Yes, we didn’t know what to do with it. There was a box of stuff left with it, and now it’s all considered scrap."
"Oh, there’s more stuff?"
The old woman said, "Yes, it’s all stored under this bed here, not much use."
After the old farmer pulled out a wooden box and opened it, Peter Brown saw at a glance that it contained talisman-making tools. His eyes lit up as he said, "That settles it, I won’t take advantage of your family. I will give you one hundred thousand dollars for the furnace and what’s in this box. That way, your son will have some starting capital for his future."
"What did you say?" Both elders were stunned at that moment. They couldn’t believe that these worthless items could sell for one hundred thousand dollars. The amount had them a little dizzy.
The young man, now regaining his strength, thanked Peter from the bed, "Divine Doctor, we’ve studied those things. They’re the sort of things only a Daoist priest could use. They’re of no use to our family. They might be worth some money, but certainly not one hundred thousand dollars."
Peter Brown glanced at the young man, his favorable impression growing as he said, "Not bad. If you were to auction such items, this box might be worth two to three hundred thousand dollars. However, its value depends on who is interested. To me, they are worth millions. Think it over. If you agree, I’ll buy them. If not, let’s forget it."
"Take them; we don’t want the money. Nothing is more important than saving a life," the young man said earnestly.
Peter Brown looked at the young man and nodded slightly, "Okay, one hundred thousand then. I’ll also give you an opportunity. I’ll teach you a set of cultivation techniques. If you persist in your practice, living a few hundred years will not be a problem. The three people in your family can all practice it, but don’t pass it on to outsiders."
As he spoke, Peter Brown took a pen from the table and wrote down a cultivation technique on a piece of paper for the young man. Then, he asked the young man to give him his bank card details.
Peter Brown, who now had several million dollars on him, wasn’t short of that amount of money and directly transferred the funds.
Having finished this, Peter Brown left with his items.
The rural family watched Peter Brown leave, their hearts still shaking with the revelation that these items were truly worth one hundred thousand dollars!
With this one hundred thousand, their family was as good as transformed.
As for whether those items were actually more valuable, they didn’t dwell on it. Being simple folks, they felt immensely fortunate with the one hundred thousand and having their lives saved.
Peter Brown didn’t consider their thoughts at that moment, feeling quite pleased himself. He had originally planned to see if he could obtain some talisman-making materials, and now that wasn’t necessary, which saved him the trouble.
These items were indeed not valued by ordinary people, and they could be bought for just twenty to thirty thousand dollars. But that furnace was a treasure.
Peter parked the car on the side of the road, took the furnace, and after inspecting it, pressed a certain spot. Instantly, the outer layer of the entire furnace was peeled back.
With the exterior unveiled, a delicate and ancient pill refining furnace appeared before Peter Brown.
It really was remarkable. This object was much more valuable to a cultivator – worth ten million dollars.
With this refining furnace, Peter Brown’s next step in alchemy would be much easier.
When he returned to his residence, Peter saw the door was closed. Upon entering, he found nothing had changed inside.
Without doing anything else, Peter Brown took out all the talisman-making tools, laid the talisman paper on the table, and after carefully grinding the ink, he began drawing talismans.
Normally, making jade talismans would be better, but Peter lacked the necessary conditions and immortal power at the moment, so he had to make do with what he had. Creating some personal protection items would be safer.
Drawing talismans was really easy for Peter Brown. Each stroke flowed like clouds and water, and as the final stroke was completed, a strong glow emanated from the paper, which then flickered and died.
"Not bad, this is a Freezing Talisman. As long as it’s activated, it can freeze a person in place!"
In the following time, Peter spent his time drawing various defensive and attack talismans.
After securing the talismans on his person, Peter Brown’s sense of security was significantly enhanced.
Shaking his head, Peter could only sigh at the thought of the examination, which had forced someone as accomplished as himself to start from scratch.
But, when considering the benefits that passing the examination would bring, Peter could only grit his teeth and proceed.
What Peter Brown didn’t know was that the Lees were now truly cornered. Their actions had sparked widespread criticism, and now people had taken their many misdeeds to the internet. Particularly, after Harry Lee’s acts of bullying and extortion were revealed, it triggered an even greater public backlash, followed by more exposés, ultimately implicating Lucas Collins as well.
The Lees had never expected such a turn of events.
When they returned home and were thinking about how to resolve the situation, they found it was already too late.
As Lucas Collins was seething with anger, a phone call came in from Kingston. It was from his former superior, who simply said over the phone, "Lucas, step down."
After dropping that single line, the caller hung up.
How could this happen?
Lucas Collins was stunned.
"Dad, that damn Peter Brown is too cocky. I won’t let him get away with this!" Harry Lee, unaware of the phone call his father had just received, was still cursing furiously.
Looking at his son, Lucas Collins realized he was truly ruined by his own child.
He never imagined that after working hard all his life, he would fall because of his son. He always saw media stories about people bringing ruin to their own families, but only now understood how lethal such a predicament could be.
