Chapter 1165: Chapter 1165: Pursuit_1

Spitting out a mouthful of blood, Peter Brown knew this was a critical moment, he could spare no more thoughts, and quickly unleashed an Invisibility Talisman, followed by unfolding the Concealing Technique.

It was only later that Peter discovered another function of the Concealing Technique. Not only could it hide his cultivation level, but it could also render all his aura completely imperceptible for a short time.

Using the Concealing Technique was now the most effective approach for Peter.

Once the Concealing Technique was deployed, even someone five layers higher couldn’t detect his movements.

It was under the cover of this technique that Peter dashed madly inward.

No matter how furiously Peter sprinted, he would not be discovered, so he simply let loose and ran unrestrained.

The pursuers weren’t particularly skilled. In their eyes, capturing a low-level cultivator like Peter was not difficult. However, what everyone hadn’t anticipated was Peter’s awesomeness; the young man had simply vanished right before their very eyes.

"Split up and chase!"

A high-level cultivator roared.

The battle outside was nearly settled, and more people chased into the mine.

At this point, the only thing Peter could do was run for his life deep into the mine tunnel, without the need to consider anything else.

Peter knew in his heart that if the enemy caught up, there would be only death for him.

Fortunately, flight was restricted inside the mine tunnel, preventing everyone from flying, or else Peter would have been caught long ago.

Even so, Peter could clearly feel that a group was getting closer and closer to him.

What to do?

When Peter used his Divine Sense to investigate, he discovered that there were three pursuers.

After looking around, Peter had already unleashed a Hidden Formation.

Although the formation had endured the bombardment of his self-explosion, it was only drained of energy and not damaged. After Peter added new Immortal Stones, the formation disk could still be used.

No sooner had the Hidden Formation been set up than the three people had already charged nearby.

"Trap!"

Peter immediately hurled out the trapping talisman.

Three trapping talismans locked all three men in place.

Peter didn’t linger, quickly retrieving the formation disk, and once more dashed towards the depths.

The three high-level cultivators truly hadn’t expected Peter to have such a tactic. As they were trapped by the talismans, all three were momentarily stunned.

However, such trapping talismans didn’t have much effect on them. They only needed to spend a little time to break free.

The three of them gathered their Immortal power and began bombarding the trapping talismans.

After a series of continuous bombardments, the trapping talismans were destroyed.

"Chase!"

Once freed from the talismans, the three were furious. They had been close to catching up and hadn’t expected their quarry to pull off such a trick.

However, when they continued the chase, they found themselves facing five diverging tunnels.

Standing at the entrance, the three were once again flabbergasted, an outcome they had not anticipated.

If there had been three tunnels, they could have split into three groups to pursue. But now, with five tunnels, they were at a loss on how to divide their forces.

Standing there in a daze for a while, the leader scrutinized the area carefully and let out a sigh, "What a cunning person!"

Clearly, Peter Brown had used the brief trapping array to distract everyone, and then slipped away through one of the paths.

"Leave one person here to guard, in case he comes back. The other two, choose a different path each and pursue!"

The leader immediately made the assignments.

Soon, the leader stayed behind while two individuals from the Immortal Realm had already set off in pursuit.

In the leader’s view, Peter was just a Post-heavenly Being and couldn’t possibly be a match for an individual of the Immortal Realm, so sending one person was more than enough.

While they were making their assignments here, Peter was desperately continuing deeper into the depths.

It was only because he already knew the layout of the place that he could employ such tactics; anyone else would have no idea what could happen in these mine tunnels.

Glancing at the positioning device he carried, Peter knew he couldn’t use such a thing anymore. Given that the Dark Mist Sect had fallen, the device must have been obtained by the enemy. If he continued to use it, he would be tracked down wherever he went.

Therefore, Peter specifically ran towards locations that were unmarked. Now, he could no longer concern himself with whether he could find his way back.

He didn’t know how long he had run, nor how many forks in the path he had entered, but Peter knew he had penetrated deep inside.

Listening carefully to the sounds from the outside world, Peter sat down with a flopped down.

This marathon had taken about two days, and he had no idea where he had ended up.

Looking around, Peter found this area devoid of human traces, probably a deserted part of the mine.

Looking at the entrance, Peter decided to block the path with a large pile of stones.

After marking his position, Peter quickly ran even deeper into the area.

However, after entering a fork in the path, he discovered there was no way to proceed.

Well, life and death are predestined. Now all he could do was to hide here and see if they could find this place!

Summoning the formation, Peter had completely entered inside it.

The energy he had spent in his flight was considerable, and it took him a good while sitting there to adjust and stabilize his breath back to normal.

It was very quiet inside the cave. Peter took out the sect leader’s ring he had found to inspect it, and then attempted to break open its Divine Sense Mark with his divine sense.

However, he couldn’t even scratch the imprint of the former owner.

After some thought, Peter realized his inadequate cultivation was to blame. Even though the sect leader was dead, his Divine Sense Mark would take some time to fade away, and the remaining impression that hadn’t dissipated was not something Peter could break through at the moment, so all he could do was wait.

Pocketing the ring, Peter knew it contained many treasures, but he was not in a rush.

Only then did Peter remember that the Mine-guarding Elder had rewarded him with three types of elixirs that could potentially upgrade his cultivation by one layer. Since there was nothing else to do right now, he might as well consume the medicine.

"The Simplified Elemental Pill, significantly enhances energy."

Looking at the elixirs, Peter swallowed one down.

Indeed, it was a powerful medicine. As he ingested the pill, he could clearly feel a substantial rise in the energy within his body.

Initiating the Immortal Power Transformation Technique, Peter closed his eyes and began cultivating.

Each cycle of the Cultivation Technique transformed into a huge amount of Inner Qi, and Peter found his cultivation was advancing rapidly. After the Energy Gathering Layer came the Peak Ascension Level, and Peter believed that after consuming all the elixirs, entering the Peak-Ascension-Level should not be difficult.

Surviving in the Immortal Realm is really tough!

Peter knew his cultivation was truly too weak.
