Chapter 1156: Chapter 1156: Land of the Vein_1

"I am your Master Uncle Clayton Armstrong," said the expert from the Celestial Tier, emanating a powerful aura as he looked towards the gathered group of prospective and official disciples.

By then, Peter Brown had also figured out some of the situation. This time they were heading to a mining site thousands of billions of miles away from the sect, a place known for producing a kind of mixed ore useful in refining artifacts. The guard shifts changed yearly, and it was now Peter and his group’s turn to relieve the current guardians.

Of course, Peter knew that the true guardians of the mine were high-level experts, and they were essentially just supervisors within the mine.

Their Flying Magical Artifact was a large ship; everyone boarded, and the ship quickly set sail forward.

In the two days of travel, Peter didn’t make much preparation beyond restocking three types of elixirs that could enhance cultivation, as well as a few Immortal Talismans and formations. The trip was a big deal for Peter, and despite having made so much money, he could only spend it all at once on life-saving items in exchange for immortal coins.

Over a hundred people were headed for the mission, including more than thirty official disciples with the rest being prospective ones.

"Find a place for yourself to cultivate; our ship will need some time before we reach our destination," spoke Clayton Armstrong before closing his eyes and sitting cross-legged.

Everyone exchanged glances; the official disciples went to the core area while the prospective once to the peripheries. Each person was provided a room, which they then entered.

The products of refining artifacts were indeed remarkable!

Observing the Flying Magical Artifact, Peter nodded to himself, thinking that he should acquire one for his own use next.

After sitting cross-legged, Peter took out the items he had prepared. The Hidden Formation was his favorite type of formation. Upon discovering its availability, he immediately decided to buy one. This Hidden Formation was capable of concealment even under the scrutiny of a Golden Immortal-level expert, which was very likely to encounter. Although it cost him one hundred and fifty thousand to acquire the formation, Peter did not feel any regret. Having this formation meant he had additional means of protecting his life.

This wasn’t just any concealment technique; even a Golden Immortal-level expert couldn’t break it; however, it consumed Immortal Stones. Peter had to spend fifty thousand immortal coins to procure some, necessitating frugal usage.

After completing the refining of the formation, Peter stored the Hidden Formation away and checked the Immortal Talismans he brought. This time, he didn’t bring Heavenly Thunder Talismans, but rather a type of silent, explosive Ice and Snow Talisman, which could completely encase someone in ice.

Looking at these Immortal Talismans, Peter’s face broke into a smile. Though they lacked the explosive power of Heavenly Thunder Talismans, once cast, they could completely freeze someone from the Immortal Realm, leaving him free to handle them as he wished. Unfortunately, the talismans that could threaten someone from the Celestial Tier were too expensive, with each costing at least 50,000 immortal coins, which Peter currently could not afford.

After storing the Immortal Talismans, three Jade Bottles appeared in Peter’s hand, each containing elixirs that could substantially boost energy levels, even for someone at the Energy Gathering Layer. Regrettably, the quantities were not large enough to fill his energy reserves to capacity.

Upon consuming an elixir, Peter began to cultivate there.

He set aside the affairs of the outside world for the moment; all that mattered to him now was to improve his cultivation as much as possible.

The Flying Magical Artifact continued its journey, with Peter and the others deeply immersed in their cultivation.

"We’ve arrived; everyone come out," Clayton Armstrong’s voice called out.

"Master Sun Clayton, you’re leading the team personally this time!"

A Celestial Tier expert came forward with a smile on his face.

"Sonny Damian, is everything going well?" Clayton Armstrong asked with a smile as he looked towards the approaching man.

"So it turns out Master Uncle Damian Kui Long was leading the defense here!"

"Master Xing is really awesome, he once killed two beings at the Celestial Tier with his great saber, his combat power is unquestionable," said one disciple quietly discussing the impressively aura-ed man approaching.

"Master Xing is definitely going to advance in rank this time, I believe after he returns, he’ll receive a mass of rewards, and entering the Golden Immortal Layer will be no issue at all."

A few disciples from the Immortal Realm were having a muted discussion about the man with the strong aura coming their way.

Peter Brown also took a careful look, and indeed noticed that the man’s aura was even stronger than Clayton Armstrong’s.

"So, Master Xing, you are about to advance in rank!"

A look of envy flashed in Clayton Armstrong’s eyes.

With a hearty laugh, Xing Kuilong said, "Brother Armstrong, if you guard here, I believe your advancement would be even faster."

"What situation?" asked Clayton Armstrong, his expression suddenly changing.

Xing Kuilong pulled Clayton Armstrong aside, and the two whispered to each other for a few moments.

Upon hearing Xing Kuilong’s explanation, Clayton Armstrong’s face grew complex, and he gave a wry smile, "I thought it was a good task, I didn’t expect such a variable."

"Brother Armstrong, there’s no need to worry too much about this matter, there are Golden Immortal Level Masters guarding it, if it really doesn’t work out, we can just ask them to come," he reassured.

Clayton Armstrong nodded and said, "That’s the only way."

"Alright then, let’s hand over the procedures, I’ve been out for a year now, it’s time to return to the Immortal Sect."

As the two were exchanging responsibilities, Peter Brown’s face changed. It was possible that the two were trying to prevent the disciples from the Immortal Realm from overhearing their conversation, hence the sound-blocking method they employed could only shield against general Divine Sense probing. However, Peter’s Divine Sense was extremely powerful, and he directly heard their conversation.

There were a large number of Demon Beasts inside the mine!

This was the content Peter Brown heard.

The deeper one went into the mine, the more Ore Demons there were; some of them were even unbeatable by someone with Xing Kuilong’s cultivation level. There were quite a few disciples and provisional disciples who had been injured or killed here.

Trouble indeed!

Peter knew that they, the provisional disciples, were essentially miners who came to mine; of course, compared to those captive miners, they were more like overseers, their conditions were much better. But even so, once they got inside, their safety was still hardly guaranteed,

Luckily, he had the Hidden Formation and some Immortal Talismans; otherwise, coming here would be a death sentence.

Looking past Master Xing, Peter saw the relieved joy of the junior brothers, clearly, they had longed to leave this place.

Turning to the newcomers, he saw everyone’s excited faces.

Peter could only sigh quietly to himself, no wonder the reward for this task was a large amount of Elixirs, everyone must be thinking about advancing a level after taking them post-completion.
