Chapter 1121: Chapter 1121: Immortal Sect Selects Disciples_1
When Peter Brown arrived at the examination site, he immediately noticed a certain tension in the air, with complicated emotions etched on many people’s faces.
What happened?
Looking around in confusion, Peter really didn’t know what had been going on outside as he had been focused solely on revising.
"Peter, fortune is coming our way!"
Harlan Swift appeared out of nowhere, his face radiating excitement.
"What’s the situation?"
"You don’t know? The Dark Mist Sect is here to select disciples!"
Seeing Peter still clueless, Harlan Swift let out a wry smile and said, "You should get to know this world a bit better, how can you be so out of the loop? Let me tell you, in this Immortal Realm, people’s greatest dream is to achieve immortality, and the most important part of that is cultivation, right?"
"Yes, everyone knows that," Peter nodded in agreement.
"Do you know the situation of our country?"
Peter responded with some confusion, "What situation?"
"Well, to put it bluntly, where we are is basically the Mortal Society of the Cultivation World, and in such a place, no matter how hard you try, there is little hope of becoming an Immortal."
"Aren’t we bodies of Immortals? We should be considered Immortals, right?"
"Sigh, you don’t know anything. Our Immortal bodies are actually just a type of Void Immortals. If we were True Immortals, only then, by becoming True Immortals, could we live eternally!"
Peter began to understand, asking, "So, what you’re saying is, what we need is to join a Sect and truly enter the Immortal Cultivation Realm?"
"Exactly, that’s the deal. The Immortal Cultivation Realm is where our real goal lies. A lot of people are striving towards it, but entering a cultivation Sect is not so easy. They conduct strict selection when recruiting disciples. Being accepted into a Sect is like stepping on the true path of becoming an Immortal. Who would pass up such an opportunity?"
"What does this have to do with our exam?"
"Who says it’s unrelated? Let me tell you, the Dark Mist Sect is selecting disciples from among us who are taking the exam, and they have changed all the questions to their own."
Peter exclaimed in astonishment, "If the questions are set by them, what do we do about the topics we haven’t reviewed?"
"It’s not the kind of question-setting you’re thinking of; they’re just testing everyone. The first is about one’s root bone, which most people don’t have a problem with. Second is a physical test, and if you have Immortal Power, you can mostly pass this step. Thirdly, they test your Divine Sense, and a strong Divine Sense also gives you a chance to pass."
Peter’s eyes lit up, none of this was an issue for him.
Could it be that starting from now, he would begin his journey into the Immortal Sect?
After so many years of cultivation, Peter thought he had already embarked on the path to immortality, only to find out it was not so straightforward. However, regardless of the hardships, Peter was undeterred.
"Peter, we definitely have a chance this time, thanks to you," Harlan Swift beamed with excitement, also filled with hope about entering the Immortal Sect.
"Have they not arrived yet?"
"Just wait, they are from the Immortal Sect, and everything they do is based on their own methods; they wouldn’t use Mortal Technology at all. To be honest, in their eyes, technology is just trivial. Remember, the Sects don’t allow the use of technological items. Everything must be transformed using Immortal Power, meaning, you must use the means of cultivation to produce something that they will recognize, or else you will be expelled from the Sect. This is one thing you must not do. By the way, while they have not arrived yet, you should quickly check out their requirements on the AI so as not to do anything irrelevant to them."
Peter obviously hoped to enter the Immortal Sect, so he quickly turned on the AI and started examining the information related to it.
With Peter’s Divine Sense, he firmly memorized various types of knowledge that were present there.
Looking over at the others, quite a few people were hurriedly checking the AI for information. Clearly, today’s event had caught many off guard, and they were trying to cram at the last minute.
After viewing for a while, Peter gained a deeper understanding of the Immortal Sects, recognizing them as lofty figures, whose Mortal subordinates were just a part of a world full of unknowns.
Upon further research, Peter realized that the Mortal world actually occupied only a small space on this Star Planet, and the larger, more expansive world was only accessible to cultivators.
His previous perspective was too narrow!
Reading the introduction to the Immortal Cultivation Realm, Peter felt ashamed for only aspiring to a Mortal position, realizing that true cultivation required entry into a Sect, where both Cultivation Techniques and resources were incomparable to those in the Mortal Realm.
"Look, the number of last-minute exam entrants has suddenly increased, the competition is too intense!" Harlan Swift said worriedly.
Peter looked and indeed saw that many people had crowded in.
"How many do they usually recruit?"
"There’s no limit really, as long as one passes their examination, they will be allowed to enter."
"Then worry not, just do your best."
"I heard that the Dark Mist Sect has millions of disciples. What kind of situation will it be like inside the Sect?"
"Millions of disciples in a Sect!"
Peter was astonished at the sheer size of the Sect.
A bystander sighed and said, "There are many disciples, but not many become Immortals. In truth, it’s about competing for resources. I heard that many spend their lives acquiring little in the way of resources. Entering a Sect is good and offers hope, but many fade away within the Sect’s confines."
Harlan Swift apparently knew the person and said, "You’re always such a downer. If we get the chance to enter, we have to take it, can’t spend a lifetime in the Land of Secularity."
Peter asked, "With so many people here, do those with powerful connections have an advantage over ordinary people?"
Shaking his head, the person beside them said, "You don’t have to worry about that; many Sects come to recruit disciples. If they had met the conditions, they would have already entered a Sect."
Harlan Swift said, "Actually, this kind of recruitment is mostly aimed at Cultivators. Sometimes a Cultivator emerges who is different from the rest, and such Talent is what the Sects value."
As everyone discussed, Peter quickly skimmed through the AI’s introduction to the Sects, attempting to understand all the dos and don’ts.
By now, Peter was no longer unfamiliar with the Immortal Sects.
"Look, they’re coming!"
Someone exclaimed, and everyone’s gaze turned towards the Horizon Sky.
