Chapter 1007
Chapter 1007: 1007
After several teleportations, Peter Brown had moved far away from the area where Qin River City was located. He did not want to bring disaster upon Qin River City, as the Tribulation Association was clearly a powerful existence.
This was a city named Phantom Feather, where Peter Brown was already sitting in an inn.
In fact, Peter had some regrets about attending the Crossing Tribulation viewing; he should have disguised himself. If he had, he wouldn’t be in such a passive situation now.
However, that was just a fleeting thought. At the time, Peter couldn’t be sure whether a Mahayana stage cultivator would detect his disguise, so he didn’t dare take the risk.
Oh well, if they found out, they found out. It’s not a big deal.
Thinking of his subordinates in Qin River City, thinking of Will Hanson and the others, Peter could only wish them luck.
"Waiter, what’s the news lately?" Peter saw the waiter pouring tea and casually asked.
"You just came out of closed-door cultivation, didn’t you?"
The waiter knew that many who emerged from closed-door cultivation would be out of touch, so he wasn’t surprised.
"Yes, I’ve been in closed-door cultivation for quite some time now. I want to catch up on what’s been happening outside."
"Fellow Daoist might not know, but a major event has occurred."
"Oh?"
Peter threw a few cultivation coins and said, "Tell me about it."
The waiter glanced at the shopkeeper, who nodded his approval, and then smiled, "Alright, there aren’t many guests today, so I’ll tell you about it."
While in the cave, Peter examined his situation and reflected on many things. He had intended to return to Earth immediately but had teleported several times since then, and many days had passed. He really had no idea what had happened in the External World.
Peter gestured for the waiter to sit down and poured a cup of tea for him.
Seeing Peter’s kindness, the waiter’s face brightened even more as he said enthusiastically, "You have no idea, something big has happened. The Tribulation Association has had a major event that shook the entire Cultivation World."
It was indeed about that matter!
"What happened?"
"You don’t know? This time the Tribulation Association had a Tribulation Period expert face the Mahayana Tribulation there, and as a result..."
It was unclear where the waiter had heard the news, but what he was saying seemed to match up.
After discussing the event, the waiter said, "You may not know, but the Tribulation Association’s losses were huge. They lost fifteen Mahayana masters all at once, not to mention the numerous Nascent Soul and above masters. Such losses really hit them hard; even the Tribulation Association can’t bear it."
Peter was curious, "The Tribulation Association actually lost so many Mahayana masters. How many do they have?" This was a point of curiosity for Peter all along.
The waiter replied, "Nobody knows for sure, but one thing is known: for over a thousand years, no Mahayana master from the Tribulation Association has succeeded in ascending. Many of them have died due to reaching the end of their lifespan while still within the association. Even so, the accumulated number of Mahayana masters is no small figure."
At this point, the shopkeeper joined the conversation, saying, "Everyone has a guess—Great Ascenders have a hundred years to ascend. If they don’t ascend within a hundred years, their lifespan reaches its limit. Therefore, from various indications, the Tribulation Association is thought to have some Mahayana masters who have existed from a hundred years ago to the present."
Peter nodded inwardly; this guess was accurate. The lifespan of their Great Ascenders was at most a hundred years, meaning that becoming a Great Ascender was only possible within these hundred years, so the number couldn’t be too high.
"Shopkeeper, please, have a seat and let’s chat."
Peter invited the shopkeeper to sit down as well.
Seeing this, the waiter excused himself and went off to attend to his duties.
"Shopkeeper, how many Mahayana masters do you think the Tribulation Association has now?"
"Ah, this matter! Actually, the Cultivation World also finds it strange that every five years, the Tribulation Association reveals a new Mahayana master. If this is the case, they must have at least about twenty Mahayana masters."
Peter speculated, "There might be more in hiding."
The shopkeeper nodded, "Exactly. I also think there could be hidden masters. However, the general consensus is that even if they are hiding some, at most they’ve hidden five. Together, that would be about twenty-five or so. Now, with fifteen Mahayana stage masters dying all at once, it really is a huge blow to the Tribulation Association. It’s as if the majority of their masters have been wiped out, not to mention the backup forces of the Tribulation Period. The loss of these individuals is a major blow to the Tribulation Association, as it loses its driving force for future progression."
"Why did they send so many experts this time?" Peter asked.
"It’s said that they suspected sabotage, so they gathered the masters to go and eliminate the troublemakers. Of course, it was also meant to show off their strength, but they did not anticipate such an event."
"In the end, did the Heavenly Gate open?"
"Yes, the Heavenly Gate’s opening could be seen from afar, but what’s puzzling is that although the Heavenly Gate opened, not a single person achieved immortality!"
"Did they use the Power of Reversal to watch?"
"Yes, they used the Power of Reversal for a replay, and there was a shocking discovery. There truly was someone causing sabotage, but it was impossible to see the saboteur’s appearance. It’s said that the saboteur was enveloped in Seven-colored Glowing Light, and even the Power of Reversal couldn’t reveal them."
Upon hearing this, Peter let out a sigh of relief; the Seven-colored Glowing Light was indeed powerful.
"The Power of Reversal showed that they didn’t achieve immortality?" Peter continued to inquire.
"Yes, it’s said that when the Heavenly Gate opened, a powerful beam of light emerged, and anyone who touched the light vanished into nothingness. Everyone present died, leaving no skeletal remains!"
The shopkeeper shook his head as he said this.
"What’s the Tribulation Association’s stance now?"
"What else could their stance be? They’ve issued a Kill Order to the entire Cultivation World to hunt down the person protected by the Seven-colored Light. The Prize Money is very high, and anyone providing information will be trained to become a Mahayana master. Now the entire Cultivation World is in a frenzy, all searching for that person."
"That person should have remained on their Star Planet, they should have an Identity Card, making them easier to discover."
"It’s not that easy; many people have died, and no one knows who the person is. However, there’s a rumor that a man named Jackson is a prime suspect; he teleported during that time frame."
Upon hearing this, Peter realized it was the identity he had counterfeited. He hadn’t expected them to have already traced it to that identity.
