Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time -
Chapter 72: Rising Talents
Chapter 72: Rising Talents
"Green! Another green!"
"The heavens have blessed our sect!"
The disciples were practically glowing with pride.
But a moment later, their smiles stiffened.
HUALA!
A wave of aura spread from the tablet, as a fifth color appeared.
"BLUE!"
"It’s a blue-ranked talent!"
Even Elder Nie Jing raised a brow—a historic show of emotion. A rare smile crept across his face, as if someone had finally brought him the perfect cup of tea.
Somewhere in the back, Han Yu perked up.
’Alright, maybe it’s not that unrealistic after all,’ he thought. ’Son of a divine emperor, here I come.’
Now, becoming a Blue Ranked talent didn’t seem as rare to Han Yu as it did before.
"Jui Miao, Blue Ranked talent! You pass!" Elder Nie Jing said with joy.
The boy managed to keep his cool, which was different from all the other children.
"I thank the elder for providing this opportunity," Jui Miao said with gratitude and bowed his head.
’The children of clans certainly aren’t the same,’ Elder Nie Jing thought.
Jui Miao was one of the recruits that had been brought in from a cultivation clan, and as such his talent was already expected to be better than others. And he wasn’t the only case.
So far, every recruit that had come from a cultivation clan had at least yellow-ranked talent.
And now Jui Miao had exceeded them all.
He walked off to receive his reward, which was 700 spirit stones and ten Spirit Qi restoration pills. But that wasn’t the extent of his rewards.
"As a bonus for having good results in the combat assessment and your talent, you will be rewarded a weapon of your choosing," the junior elder stated.
"Great." The boy had a smile on his face now.
All those that had heard that couldn’t help but feel envious. Even the outer court disciples were feeling the same.
"Man, a spirit weapon just like that. I still don’t have one after being here for a decade," one of the outer court disciples lamented.
"I know right, I’ve been saving spirit stones for nearly three years now."
"Forget that, I’ve been doing three jobs now," another one spoke.
"Now that I think of it, didn’t I see you cleaning out the chimneys in the Alchemy Pavilions?"
"Yeah, he’s the new chimney boy."
"Hey! Don’t call me that!" the man protested.
"Yeah, don’t call him that. He also cleans the Spirit Savannah horse dung," someone added from the back.
"Man, fuck you."
After the blue-ranked talent was discovered, the excitement of the children had risen another notch.
The same was the case for the disciples and the elders watching from the distance.
To them, even a green-ranked talent was great. Most of the elders in the sect had green-ranked talents as well, which showed that one had the potential to reach the Nascent Soul realm!
And blue-ranked talent was above that, showing that one could possibly reach the Dao Shell realm!
Even in the entire Twin Leaf Peak Sect, there were less than ten such experts, and they were all old elders who had been in the sect for at least a thousand years.
Having such a new talent meant that they would have another seat being filled. It was a matter of pride for everyone in the sect.
Many elders already had their eyes on Jui Miao, having chosen him as a disciple that they needed to have under them. One could only imagine the competition the elders would be having secretly.
’Isn’t this the boy who faced off against Murong Xie?’ Han Yu also remembered the recruit.
Jui Miao had lost quite early on actually, being stopped at the third round. Which, compared to his talent, seemed rather lacking.
But in reality, it was simply because he had faced off against someone much stronger than him and had been unlucky. Perhaps if he had faced off against another opponent, he might have even reached the top four.
Another hour passed by and the number of disciples reduced. No more stunning talents appeared after that, with just a single yellow-ranked talent showing up.
Soon though, only fifty recruits were left.
"Hoho... I’m getting excited," Han Yu said as he bit his lips in anticipation.
One by one the recruits walked up to the dais until finally the last ten were left. These were all children who had shown great results and were being watched by the elders even before.
"Fan Lian, approach!" Elder Nie Jing announced.
The children grew silent as they looked at the well-dressed boy walk up. Even Han Yu was rather silent, as he wondered what the result would be like.
SHUA
The boy pricked his finger and soon the lights glowed on the tablet, changing three times before the final light appeared.
"Green! Another green-ranked talent!"
"Haha, just as I expected." Fan Lian was satisfied.
"You will have a bright future here. Look forward to the elders you will be meeting," Elder Nie Jing said, giving out some rare advice.
"I shall keep that in mind, Elder," Fan Lian said as he walked off.
"Next... Gao Ren!" Elder Nie Jing called out as a rather tall ’man’ walked out of the children.
He looked like a giraffe standing among goats and looked rather comical right now, having half his body wrapped up in bandages.
Though these bandages were just for the superficial wounds, as the true injury was hidden between his legs.
No one knew how the disciples had managed to wake him up from his trauma, but the boy was able to walk on his own for now. Though his legs still seemed to tremble with every step.
SHUA
The boy finally pricked his finger without saying a single word, and the tablet changed.
SHUA SHUA SHUA SHUA
Then in a single go, the tablet flickered through the colors.
"Blue?!" The light shone.
"No wait..." but that was not the end yet.
Another light appeared—a darker shade of blue.
"INDIGO! HAHAHA!" Elder Nie Jing laughed out loud.
