Chapter 61: Conflict
"The only way to deal with these ghosts is through sealing," Evan replied, somewhat impatient. He didn’t have the best relationship with his classmates and at this moment, he could see that they were unwilling to listen to him.
Even if the five of them were basically at the top of the ranking... well, not all ranking, but some students were not convinced.
They didn’t want to listen to their words.
"We can seal it!" These students were stubborn.
Their leader was also a student at the same age as them. His name was Josh and he was also the nephew of the Fourth Head of the Wansu City. His uncle’s status made him arrogant and some people from the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s family also listened to him.
Oh right, the third head was from the Green Family while the second head was from the Red Family. As for the first head, he was also someone from the Green Family.
The fourth head was the first one that came from smaller families that were not the four biggest founding families of Wansu City. But since he was the one appointed by the third head, no one dared to raise their objection at that time.
Now, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s influence was no longer as big as it used to be.
His disappointing performance during the war between Wansu City and Xunsu City had made many people feel heartbroken.
They were unwilling to listen to the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s words.
On the surface, they still acted respectful to the Fourth Head of the Wansu City, but in private, they were no longer as loyal as they used to be. It could be guessed that given the chance, there would be some people who would let the Fourth Head of the Wansu City die.
Aya didn’t care about them.
She only felt that Josh was ridiculous for acting so arrogant simply because of his uncle’s position. Dean, who was the descendants of the former second head and Yun, who was related to the third head, never acted arrogant in front of others.
The glory of their grandfather or great uncle might be glorious but it has nothing to do with them.
They have to work hard to earn their own qualification to become arrogant.
"Continue attacking!" Josh said. "I’ll deal with the ghost before it reaches us. My father told me that higher ranked magic spells can defeat the ghosts!"
Evan was speechless and didn’t want to talk with Josh anymore.
Leon was more direct and said, "It’s stupid."
"What did you say, b*stard?"
"Can your third rank spell defeat a ghost that make trouble for many adults?" Leon asked, his tone was still mocking openly to these people.
His father had also told him that higher ranked spells could defeat these ghosts, but how could they learn any high ranked spells?
The highest ranked spells they could learn was only at rank 3.
Or it was more like, the highest ranked spells they could cast was only rank 3.
Their mana was insufficient to cast more.
"Forget about them." Dean was too lazy to pay attention to this and turned to Yun. "Set up the light sealing spells."
"Yes."
Since sealing came from formation, there were also different magic elements for different seals. The best seal was naturally the light element but considering that there were not many other light element mage aside from those from the Green Family, it was not commonly used.
In this classroom alone, only Yun was of light element.
So she was the most suitable one to prepare the seal.
With that, Yun started to make the seal on the ground. She only needed to get the ghost reach the formation and then seal it.
These children hadn’t learned the complicated seals that could instantly seal the ghosts. Even if they were taught that, their mana and mana control was not enough to use that kind of technique.
It would only be taught after their sixth year.
Or if they graduated early, it could be taught by their teacher who would guide them for a short period of time.
"Tsk." Josh clicked his tongue and then looked at the ghost that had come very close to them. "Metal spears!"
Swish! Swish! Swish!
The magic attacks were not very effective as it almost dealt no damage to the ghost. Even if they did deal some damage, it was too small for them to find out.
They had to use higher ranked spells.
Aya looked at their performance and glanced at Dean, who was itching to fight. If not because ghosts were immune to physical attack, it was estimated that Dean would have long flown towards these ghosts to fight head on.
She silently took out her handkerchiefs and wrapped her hand on it.
They couldn’t touch the ghosts with their own hand, but there was no restriction from using another method to fight against the ghost. One of them was naturally through covering their bodies with clothing or other methods so that they would not touch the ghost directly.
’Thought, powerful dark element mage can touch these ghosts without the need to be afraid.’ The corner of Aya’s lips curled up slightly.
Perhaps, those of the dark and light elements were simply the most suitable candidates to fight against these ghosts.
And Aya coincidentally had both.
But she never showed it.
On the surface, Aya only showed the water and wind element, which was the most common magic elements for the members of the White Family. She had already mastered the wind element, so she often asked for water element magic to study.
Her father might be disappointed in her, but he still allowed her to take a look at those magic scrolls.
This allowed her to study more.
As for the light element, Aya simply studied what Yun had studied so far. The White Family didn’t have much record for the light element and Aya could only go to the Green Family with Yun to covertly study the light magic.
So far, the result was pretty good.
Aya just didn’t dare to use these magics openly because she was sure that Yun would definitely recognize them. She could only practice in secret when she had mastered a technique and then slowly made it more proficient.
of course, if she was too lazy, she would simply vacate a spot from her lazy... *cough* automatic training system.
This allowed her to practice without anyone could ever finding out.
Unless they could enter her inner world.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
While Aya was thinking, the other students along with Josh were still bombarding the ghosts without any care for the world. It seemed that they were not willing to give up and even if it meant exhausting their mana, they would want to break down this ghost.
Aya knew very well that this ghost was being controlled to attack them.
Besides, even if the ghost itself was not very strong, it was still far more than what these students could bear.
They had to admit that these ghosts couldn’t be dealt with only by their pitiful strength.
"The ghosts are not injured!"
"What?!"
