Chapter 60: Test?
Chapter 60: Test?
"It’s cold." Yun frowned and looked around. Her mana was the highest as she had reached the peak of rank 3 and almost reaching the standard for rank 4. It has to be known that many teachers in the academy were only at fourth rank.
And with her having a lot of mana, Yun also has higher sensitivity to her surroundings.
"Cold?" Leon was confused.
"Yeah." Yun nodded.
"I don’t feel anything." Leon was confused.
Dean heard Yun’s words and tried to sense the surroundings. He looked around once and then twice before shaking his head. "I can’t sense anything either."
"Strange..."
Evan glanced at the window and looked out. He was stunned when he saw a creature that seemed to be hanging in the air and slowly made its way in their direction.
"Hey, do you think it’s possible for ghosts to appear in the city?"
"There are already a lot of ghosts coming to the Fourth Head’s building," Dean said calmly.
"PFft."
When the other students heard this, they tried their best to repress their laugh.
The fact that there were many ghosts coming to pay a visit to the Fourth Head of the Wansu City has been known by many people. Their family members also lamented that the Fourth Head of the Wansu City might have a special physique to attract these ghosts.
But this also made the work of the magic warriors easier.
They only needed to set up traps around the Fourth Head of the Wansu City’s building. When these ghosts came, they would be trapped and then sealed by the prepared magic warriors.
Of course, only the Fourth Head of the Wansu City felt distressed by this fact.
Aya herself knew that it was not the Fourth Head of the Wansu City had a special physique but it was arranged by her. But of course, she would never admit it in front of others for the rest of her life. No way, how could she possibly tell others that the one with a special physique is here.
Moreover, leaking this out would also make them notice that Aya could see these ghosts.
And since she came from the White Family, they would have guessed that she should have the crystal eyes. Because only their eyes could see through such a large distance like that without the walls hindering their sight in the slightest bit.
If other people said that they were not jealous, they would definitely be lying.
How many people envied the White Family’s magic inheritance was simply uncountable.
There were many people who wanted to get their magic inheritance and try to learn it. Unfortunately, learning other people’s magic inheritance, especially one that was restricted by blood, was simply impossible. Even if there were some people who managed to steal the method, they couldn’t use it in the end.
"Wait, did you say a ghost is coming?" Yun asked, her tone was cold.
"Yes, out there."
With that, the children rushed to the window to take a look at the so called ghosts. Looking at the ghost floating towards them, they were stunned.
"This... what should we do?"
"First of all, those who are good at physical attack had to stay back."
Dean glanced at Aya when this was said. The two of them could be said that they focused more on physical attacks rather than magical attacks. This meant that most of their moves would not work against the ghosts.
They wouldn’t be able to play much role in the battle.
"Yun, can you detect it?" Evan turned to look at Yun.
Among the students in this classroom, Yun was the only one who felt cold. It should be because of her magic element.
Yun’s magic element was a light element mage.
It was practically the nemesis of these ghosts.
"No. I don’t major in detection."
Yun frowned. She could only sense that the temperature seemed colder than usual, which made her feel uneasy.
She didn’t like it.
"But..."
"Fire bullets!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Some impatient students immediately attacked the ghost before it could reach them.
Mages and magic warriors would usually keep their distance from their enemies. The main reason was because they didn’t have many close range attacks.
Even if there is, it was mostly a physical attack.
So against these ghosts, they were not allowed to close the distance in the slightest bit unless they wanted to die.
Ghosts are immune to physical attacks.
"Don’t immediately use high ranked magic," Evan reminded when he saw several other students were following.
Magic were naturally divided from rank 1 to rank 9. However, there was no requirement of mana for them to learn the high ranked magic. Naturally, even if they did learn it, they couldn’t cast it since they have no mana.
The mana ranks were only the ranking to determine the amount of mana they had and whether they would be able to use some magic spells.
Otherwise, it was a bit hard to gauge.
For example, if their mana reached rank 3, they would be able to use rank 3 magic with ease and still have mana left enough to cast other lower ranked spells.
After all, the mana rank did not specifically mean that they would completely exhaust their mana.
Of course, if they were rank 3 early, the leftover mana would be much fewer compared to rank 3 peak.
After all, the power of higher ranked spells are more than double the spell of one rank lower than it.
"Don’t try to order us!"
"What else are we supposed to do?"
These students were irritable.
Under the threat of possible death, they didn’t want to take the risk and tried their best to deal with the ghosts as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, the highest ranked spell they could learn from the academy was only rank 3 spell.
Those with family inheritance could learn higher ranked spells from their family. But those commoners have to work hard on their own to earn the qualifications to learn the higher ranked spells.
Dealing with these ghosts were definitely impossible if they only use rank 3 spells. Even the adults needed rank 4 spells at the very least to ensure they could damage the ghost.
But continuously using rank 4 spells or higher required a lot of mana.
And to completely kill these ghosts, a rank 5 magic spell would be needed.
At least, that was in accordance to the standard of magic in the current era, which made Aya rather speechless when she was taught. The magic that she knew had long surpassed the standards of the magic in this era but due to the limitation of mana, Aya couldn’t really perform all of them.
The higher the spell’s rank, the more mana they needed to cast it.
And Aya was not exactly someone who has unlimited mana.
These students clearly had never learned these. Some seniors might have reached rank 4 in terms of mana amount, but their situation was not very optimistic.
Because this ghost seemed to be a bit stronger.
’Is it rank 1? No, it’s close but it’s still at the cannon fodder level." Aya watched the ghosts coming towards them and stayed at the back.
She wanted to see their performance first.
Besides, the teachers taught them that these ghosts should never be touched by their physical body. The characteristic of the ghost would make them unable to break free once they were caught, which would be proven fatal.
It was just Aya was wondering now that cannon fodder that almost reached rank 1 had appeared, would there be ghosts at rank 1 appearing?
When Aya thought about this, her eyes narrowed.
If these ghosts did appear, it wouldn’t be good for them.
