Chapter 170: Accompany (2)
They all knew that for now, the Fourth Head of the Wansu City was still the one in power. Everything would only change when the next head was appointed to sit on that seat.
And Aya was too lazy to participate in this mess.
She knew that these patriarchs, not only the patriarchs from the four big families, but also the patriarchs from the smaller families, were already dissatisfied with the Fourth Head of the Wansu City. It was only a matter of time before their patience would completely run out.
"We’re here," Silas said when they reached his family’s restaurant.
Aya nodded and walked inside.
As they walked in, they saw that the restaurant was empty. This was still morning and even nearing the time for lunch, so this situation was a bit strange.
Silas frowned and looked at the kitchen’s direction and saw a notice pasted there.
It’s written ’closed.’
’She’s not here?’
Seeing this, Silas furrowed his eyebrows even more. He remembered that when his mother got back yesterday, she seemed to be happy about something. But because he was too tired, he didn’t ask her anything and his mother also ignored him.
The two of them were still living under the same roof, but the interaction between mother and son had been very few in the past few days.
Well, in the past few weeks to be exact.
"Brother Silas..." Aya called out. She also saw that notice and guessed that Aunt Black should be going out with Rafi again. For some reasons, she wanted to call out to Silas and not let this hit him too much, that is if he cared about this.
"It’s fine." Silas shook his head and looked at Aya with a wry smile. "It seems that you can only cook the food I made. I hope you don’t mind my poor cooking."
"No, not at all. It’s still far better than mine." Aya smiled brightly.
"Good."
Silas beckoned for Aya to sit down while he walked into the kitchen. He wondered if his mother still kept some ingredients here, but based on her habit, there should be more than enough.
On the other hand, Aya sat on the chair and pursed her lips.
She took a deep breath and muttered in her heart, ’Crystal eyes.’
As mana poured into her eyes, Aya was able to see the overall situation in Wansu City in an instant. The people who were walking around and many others.
After Aya had reached rank 7, her crystal eyes were also strengthened and this was the first time she used it again. But since she only used a small amount of mana, Aya didn’t really use the full power of her crystal eyes and only used it to scan the area around the restaurant.
In just a moment, she found Aunt Black and Rafi.
The two of them were walking on the street, talking and laughing. From the way it looked like, the two of them had gotten closer in this period of time.
Aya pursed her lips and silently withdrew her crystal eyes.
The relationship between the two of them was not her business and Aya had no right to interfere with this matter. Even if she wanted to, she shouldn’t do anything to them. This was their private matters and she was nothing more than an outsider.
After Aya focused her attention back to the table, she saw Silas walk out of the kitchen with an embarrassed expression.
"Brother Silas?"
"There’s no ingredients left," Silas said helplessly. "Mother might not plan to open the restaurant for a period of time."
Usually, Silas’s mother would prepare more than enough food for several days. After all, she would be too lazy to go out and purchase a lot of ingredients every day. With magic tools, these ingredients would remain fresh for a longer period of time.
So Silas’ mother was not worried at all.
But this time, there was not even a single piece of grain left in the kitchen. Based on how clean the kitchen is, Silas could guess that his mother was planning to take a break from this business.
It was actually a good thing.
Because this meant that his mother could rest more and her situation shouldn’t aggravate.
"How about if I treat you instead, Brother Silas?" Aya asked hesitantly. She might be the little princess of the White Family, but she didn’t have much money in her hand. The moment she got money, she would use them to buy herbs and so on. It was only because she had just ’robbed’ a lot of people that she didn’t immediately buy them this time.
There was still more than enough money for her to treat Silas.
Silas saw the hesitation in Aya’s eyes and shook his head helplessly. He naturally knew that this little glutton would make Evan, Leon, and Dean pay for her meal from time to time through their sparring bet. Those three boys were also quite stupid and still fell for Aya’s little scheme.
Through that, Silas guessed that Aya might have already used up the allowance she obtained from her family.
Besides, Aya’s position in the White Family was actually also quite awkward. As the daughter of the patriarchs, she was not the one considered to be the best and the position of the next heir even fell on Evan’s head. So even if she was technically still in a higher position than Evan, many people were more respectful to Evan than her.
Aya should also know this.
The White Family would not mistreat their little princess, but they would not give her too much money either.
So Aya shouldn’t be that rich.
"How much money does a little glutton like you have?" Silas shook his head. "I’ll buy some ingredients and cook some food. Or we can go out and get some fish in the river outside."
For those who were poor, free food was always the best.
And for both Silas and Aya, fishing had become their routine in order to save money.
