Chapter 118: Aya: Why Use Me as the Shield?
"Okay, Mother." Silas made up his mind to secretly investigate this matter but he looked like he had accepted this matter.
Silas’s mother patted her son’s back and then beckoned for the man to come with her. They walked back into the city. It seemed that they only came out to take a short walk and then returned again.
"Brother Silas?" Leon could sense that Silas was not very calm.
"Well, let’s finish eating and then we’ll have training," Silas said as he forced the uneasy feeling deep in his heart. He didn’t want this matter to affect their lives.
The children looked at each other and finally nodded at Silas’s suggestions.
Anyway, they didn’t really have anything else to do.
Aya’s eyes flickered, but she didn’t say anything and continued eating. With her appetite, this one boar was simply not enough.
...
By the time they had finished eating, Evan silently calculated the food expense that Aya would need and feel speechless when he saw the number.
He was sure that if they only took this kind of missions every day, Aya would never be able to recoup her losses from eating.
"Don’t worry, I’ll figure out a way to earn money," Aya said lightly.
Her skills in formation and alchemy was more than enough to make Aya earn a lot of money. If not because she didn’t want to cause a lot of suspicions in Wansu City, Aya would have made her move from a long time ago instead of staying silent like this.
"If you say so." Evan heard Aya’s words and nodded. "Anyway, once we have accumulated enough missions, we can rank up and take more missions!"
"The premise is that we’re strong enough."
"Yes, yes, yes."
The children talked happily and also dragged Silas to their conversation. In this way, Silas would not feel as bad as he used to be because of his mother’s affairs.
After the training was over, they all dispersed.
Evan glanced at Aya. "Do you want to come back home?"
"Yeah?" Aya asked.
"Well, I want to take a look at Brother Silas’s place. Anyway, we can also eat there, right?" Evan asked with a grin.
Aya rubbed her stomach and nodded.
She wanted to see if that man was still around Silas’s mother. If Silas’s mother were to have a long contact with him, her already weak body would only grow weaker.
It seemed that while the magic warriors knew that the ghosts would affect children, they didn’t know that these ghosts would also affect adults in a similar way. Unless they were dark element magicians, their resistance towards ghosts was almost none.
Silas’s mother’s body was weak and Aya didn’t want anything to happen to her.
So it would be better to go and check on her.
The two children made their way to Silas’s mother’s restaurant. Upon their arrival, they saw Leon was already there, tip toeing in front of a window.
If one didn’t know better, they might think of him as a pervert.
Well, a pervert teenager.
Bleak!
Evan hit the back of Leon’s head. "Don’t use such a method..."
He paused when he saw the scene inside and silently dragged Leon away from the window. This was the window towards the kitchen area and not the guest area, which was usually only the place for Silas’s mother to stay.
"Ouch."
Leon crouched on the ground and held his head. He looked at Evan with an aggrieved expression. "I don’t want to bother them."
"I know. Where’s Brother Silas?"
"He hadn’t returned," Leon replied. "I guess he should pay a visit to the Fourth Head or my father first."
The people who could enter the Black Family grounds were usually only the Black Family members. Silas’s mother’s store was right outside their family’s territory and there were many people from the Black Family here.
For that man to be able to get close to Silas’s mother, the Black Family Patriarch should have known about this.
So Leon guessed this way.
"What’s inside, Evan?" Aya asked.
"That..." Evan’s face blushed and beside him, Leon also blushed.
Seeing their expression, Aya could guess and her lips twitched. It seemed that this would be too early of education for the two boys.
Wait... how did the two of them even know about it?
Aya looked at the two of them and silently looked away. It seemed that these two people had secretly looked at things they shouldn’t see at this age.
Aya shook her head and didn’t ask anything more.
She looked at the restaurant and pointed to the front door. The other two nodded and then walked inside.
"Aunt Black! Are you still open?" Leon asked loudly, pretending that he hadn’t seen anything just now. In any case, it was not his business.
Prang!
Something was broken in the kitchen and the three of them stood still. They looked at the kitchen as Silas’s mother came out. She coughed when she saw the three of them and smiled. "Do you come here to eat, children?"
"Yes, the meal is not enough," Aya replied with a bright smile.
The others’ lips twitched. They silently held their stomach and thought that if they had to eat again, their stomach wouldn’t be able to take it.
The meat from the wild boar they hunted not long ago was already a bit too much for them.
"I’m here to accompany Aya, Aunt," Evan quickly replied.
"I... I’m also here to accompany Aya." Leon could only say this and looked at Aya pitifully. He didn’t have any other response he could use.
Aya who was being used as a shield: "..."
She looked at these two people speechlessly, but she didn’t mind. She looked at Silas’s mother and then asked, "Aunt, is there any food left?"
"Don’t worry, there is still enough food." Silas’s mother had long known about Aya’s bottomless stomach. It could be said that Aya was famous in several restaurants and whoever received her had to be prepared to have their arms numb.
Because the amount of food that Aya could eat was simply too much.
