Chapter 117: A Man with Thick Ghost Aura
Chapter 117: A Man with Thick Ghost Aura
Following the trails, Aya stopped and saw a man.
The man was leaning not far from the river and looked like a normal commoner. From his clothes, one would not think too much.
But Aya knew very well that the ghost aura around this person was too strong.
There were only two cases when this happened.
One was when they came into contact with ghosts for a long time.
The second one was when they sealed the ghost into their own body.
Yes, the ghost can be sealed into one’s body. It would be like those summoner magicians who have beasts fighting with them but the ghosts couldn’t be ordered. So when the ghosts were called, they would use the power of the ghosts with their own body.
There were also this move for beastmasters.
But they didn’t commonly use it because the burden on the body when they fused with the magic beast was not low.
As for fusion with a ghost?
There was no need to say.
The ghosts basically consumed their lives with every second they used the ghosts.
It was a risky move.
But the ghosts are really powerful and was hard to deal with aside from sealing. Right now, cannon fodder ghosts could only be dealt with using rank 5 or above magic and not many people could use that magic. They could only be sealed into the scroll or even be used as a contracted ghosts by the beastmasters.
But it was all temporary.
The rank 1 ghost even needed higher ranked spells.
In this way, there were not many ghosts in the city. When the patriarchs have recovered, they would help to clean up the ghosts that appeared.
Because only them could do it.
The ghosts that attacked the Fourth Head of the Wansu City were basically caught and then dealt with by the patriarchs. The city could only keep a few ghosts under the watch for the sake of research and so on.
They were also watched carefully.
But this person swaggered out and the ghost aura around him was really strong.
Who is he?
Aya was confused.
But she was not too familiar with the matter of the city either, so she couldn’t really ask directly.
She could only investigate slowly.
Cutting off her mana, Aya stopped looking in that direction and focused on cleaning the boar in front of her. He could be either the secret force under the Fourth Head or someone else from the families since the guards didn’t seem to pay attention to him.
With such a thick ghost aura around him, he was still able to walk around freely.
Perhaps it was because of his identity?
Soon, they started cooking.
"Alright, it’ll be cooked soon!" Leon’s mouth was already watering when he looked at the roasted meat in front of him.
"Mhm."
They all sat down and started eating.
Just as Aya wanted to find a reason to investigate the man, she saw the man in question walk out of the city with Silas’s mother. Her eyes widened in surprise.
This...
Well, this kind of contact would indeed deepen the ghost aura in Silas’s mother.
But Aya didn’t understand who the hell they were?
"Aya?" Evan saw Aya’s movement and followed her gaze. When he saw what she saw, his jaw also dropped and he called out, "Aunt Black?"
Huh?
Both Leon and Silas heard this and turned their heads to the back. There were only two people whom Evan could possibly call that way, which was their mother. Leon’s mother rarely went out of the house while Silas’s mother still came out occasionally.
Dean and Yun also raised their heads curiously.
"Mother?" Silas called out in confusion.
He looked at the man beside his mother and his eyes flashed slightly. He knew that his mother was lonely because his father had died and he couldn’t stay at home most of the time. But there was nothing much that Silas could do, which was why he let his mother do business as long as she was not too tired.
With the business, she would have something to do and didn’t have to think so much about this.
But looking at his mother like this, Silas felt that his mother might have a relationship that he didn’t know of and this made him feel a bit uncomfortable.
"Silas?" Silas’s mother was surprised when she saw her son here and she felt a bit embarrassed. However, she still stepped forward with the man following behind her. "Silas, this is mother’s friend. His name is Rafi and he’s a small merchant who comes to Wansu City to do his business."
Small merchant?
Both Silas and Aya had doubts in their hearts when they heard this.
Silas could see the man’s movement was definitely trained. He might look like he was careless, but he was actually paying great attention to his actions and this was the sign of someone who had fought countless life and death battles.
Even he also had some small habits to protect himself.
On the other hand, Aya has doubts because she didn’t think that an ordinary merchant would be strong enough to hold a ghost in their hand. Without sufficient physical strength and mana to maintain the seal, the ghosts could corrode it and escape on their own.
This man’s confidence and ability were not consistent with his identity.
The others didn’t have much thought. They didn’t have the ability to sense the ghost aura or to sense the man’s subtle movements.
"Hello, Uncle Rafi."
"Hello."
The children greeted him one by one, including Aya. Even if she had doubts in her heart, she didn’t show it on the surface.
"Mother, have you..."
"Silas, I know what I’m doing." Silas’s mother smiled reassuringly. "You don’t have to worry too much about me."
She had long wanted a friend to talk with her and Rafi has been a good friend for her. For this reason, Silas’s mother would believe in his words and trusted him.
Silas frowned and looked at Rafi, who was smiling kindly to him.
Even though the man seemed kind and all, Silas still felt that something was amiss.
It was just that he couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
