Chapter 516: Chapter 349: So Small (Part 3)_2
"So how do you implement your dream?" Jessica asked, "From ancient times to the present, this world has always had kings and nobles. Without kings and nobles, who would rule the common people?"
"Us," Malin pointed to himself, and then he pointed to the girls.
Clovis shook her head, "Mr. Malin, this joke isn’t funny. You are you, and we are us; we are women. The world has had queens, but there has never been a female emperor, and there will never be a female king."
"Women and men are the same; everyone comes to this world not to be someone but to become someone," Malin looked at Clovis. "Clovis, have you ever thought about another path in life, a path you’ve never envisioned before?"
"Yes, I always thought that I would end up living alone in misery, eventually losing my sanity amid the mutations, and then being Purified... But then I met you, Mr. Malin, and my life changed from that point on." When mentioning her fate, Clovis’s face was full of excited happiness as she looked at Malin and said, "I understand what you mean, Mr. Malin. You mean to say that there will come a day in our world when a farmer’s child could become a mayor, a noble’s child could pursue the art they love, and even a mercenary’s child could become a poet."
"But how could all this be possible? The farmer’s child is illiterate, the noble’s child is adept at ruling and leading people, and the mercenary’s child likes to wield weapons. They don’t have the ability to become the new identities that Clovis imagined," Faye finished and walked up to Malin, "Malin, what are you going to do?"
"I thought you would make fun of me, Faye." Malin smiled and reached out his hand, taking the hand of his beloved in front of him and making her sit beside him.
"Why would I make fun of you, Malin? I understand your feelings because I am first an elf, and then the daughter of my human father. We are both half-bloods, both with keen souls. All along the way, I have never seen a desire for power in your eyes. If one day, you were to go to war against my father and brothers, it would not be because you want to be king, but because you think they have done something wrong."
Listening to what Faye said, Malin laughed somewhat sheepishly, "I’m a bit embarrassed, Faye; you make me sound too good."
"No, this is the viewpoint of us sisters; we have seen everything that Mr. Malin has done," Lillim said, "Mr. Malin, please tell us how you will enable everyone to have the power to change their own fate."
"My method is very simple, in fact, you all have it," Malin said.
The girls’ curiosity was aroused by Malin; they all gathered around him, some sitting, some standing in front of Malin.
Speaking on behalf of everyone, Faye asked the ultimate question, "What is it?"
"It is knowledge, knowledge is power," Malin told the girls.
Clovis’s eyes widened, "Knowledge is the power of Chaos, Mr. Malin; that is the realm of the Mimicking Bird."
"No, it is the realm of Mortals; we arm ourselves with knowledge, educate ourselves with knowledge, and temper ourselves with knowledge," Malin told the girls in front of him. "We want every child to understand that they are not born into this world to repeat the harsh roads of their parents, not to let Chaos strip their souls, not to let evil enslave their bodies. Everyone is born different, but the knowledge they receive is the same. How much they can understand is not for us to adjust; what we can do is to teach them knowledge unreservedly."
"I understand what you mean, Mr. Malin," Clovis, as a Mage, was the first to grasp Malin’s idea. "You want to teach knowledge unreservedly to the children, letting every one of them possess the knowledge only a Sage would have, making them understand how Chaos beguiles the mind, how evil manipulates the heart."
"Yes, I want to teach the children with knowledge, to let them understand what they must resist and shatter, such as Chaos and evil. I will teach them knowledge unreservedly, so that each one of them has the ability to become a mayor, a poet, or a warrior," Malin looked at the girls in front of him. "I won’t force them to do the work they dislike; I won’t ask them to pay any price for this knowledge. Knowledge may have a price at the Mage Tower or other places, but here with me, it is priceless."
"They are priceless..." Matilda slowly revealed joy and amazement, "Knowledge is priceless because it’s worth nothing; and because it is a treasure beyond price."
"Yes, Matilda, knowledge is just like that to me. It is worthless in my hands, but when it is imparted to the children, it becomes the most precious wealth in their hearts," Malin said, nodding at the delight and surprise in the girls’ eyes. "I know my thoughts are still incomplete, and I haven’t accounted for the changes in people’s hearts, but I believe, letting everyone understand the significance of their existence in this world, to understand what kind of person they want to become, to discern who will be the gravediggers of this world and who will be the comrades they can trust with their lives after... So, can you help me?"
Malin extended his hand.
Matilda’s hand was the first to rest in Malin’s, and having won over Maya and Faye, she smiled happily: "To be able to help Mr. Malin like this is surely the greatest compliment bestowed upon me by my Lord. I will definitely help Mr. Malin, a Heavenly Kingdom on earth, it’s like a dreamlike beauty."
Faye’s hand also came to rest on theirs: "Such beautiful things make one wary upon hearing them, so I will watch over you, my Malin. If one day you lose your original intention, or are tempted by power, I will surely behead you..." She said, then kissed Malin’s face, "Until then, please let me stay by your side, and let us strive together for the same goal."
"I’m happy to be able to help my brother, and though I don’t quite understand everything you’ve said, I will help you, to create a world where every child can be fed is amazing," Maya said while happily lifting her tail.
"I think... it’s great, even though I don’t fully grasp how all this can be done, but really, it’s wonderful. So, count me in, Mr. Malin," Jessica added, placing her hand on top of the others’.
The girls’ attention turned to Lillim.
The little lamb wiped her hands clean, then laid her hand on top of the rest: "The thought of my child becoming a mayor through his own knowledge excites me beyond words."
"Thank you all, I will use all my power to accomplish all this, we may have adversaries," Malin said, looking at the girls.
"Then let’s defeat them," they responded with high spirits.
"And we may even have enemies."
"Then let’s annihilate them," the girls said in unison.
"Perhaps, even our loved ones might become our enemies," Malin said, looking at the girls, afraid that they would make different choices.
"I am your wife, your enemies are my enemies," Faye declared first.
"If my family thinks you are wrong... losing them would be painful, but I would have no regrets, for the Mr. Malin I follow will be the greatest man in the world," Jessica declared.
And her words gained the unanimous agreement of the girls.
"Then let us, together... change this world."
