Chapter 514: Chapter 348: So Small (Part 2)_2

Speaking of which, Malin looked at the teleportation portal that had opened on the other side of the hall and the man who emerged from it with armored guards, "Ma’am, can you explain to me who he is?"

"White-haired Hemingway Catalia, the royal hound," the elderly lady said, retreating a few steps, "Lord Catalia, I believe there’s been a misunderstanding."

"There’s no misunderstanding; in my eyes, there’s only the murderer, the criminal. Are you ready to be judged?" the man said as he reached out and a guard handed him a two-handed sword.

Malin flicked his wrist, and Fio transformed into a branch, then together with Melo and Lorrin, they formed a two-handed warhammer.

"My lord..." a caster following Catalia recognized the weapon in Malin’s hands and attempted to stop his superior, but was pushed aside.

"I will take this sinner’s head!" the old man bellowed, his muscles swelling, causing his clothes to burst from the expansion.

Malin also went all out, with Bippo and Mana even bestowing the Blessing of Strength upon him.

The sword and hammer collided in an instant.

Then, amidst the teeth-gritting sound of shattering metal, the warhammer smashed the two-handed sword and struck the man’s face before Malin watched him fly off like a cannonball, crashing through the hall’s wall, then the courtyard wall, before plowing into the shop across the street.

Malin shrugged his shoulders, feeling stronger than he ever had before.

The guards drew their weapons, while Malin’s paper bugs prepared to pounce.

They were ready to tear their enemies apart the moment their opponents came within attacking range, or if Malin gave the order.

Then, Malin spotted the almost naked giant man emerging from the destroyed gate in the distance, taking heavy steps as he walked back.

Wait a minute, did this guy seem even stronger than before?

Realizing this, Malin glanced at the hammer in his hands... Blood Roar, I misjudged you, I’ll definitely use you next time.

"Enough, there’s no need for more fighting," the giant man declared as he walked back, looking at Malin with an extremely complex expression, "World Tree Sapling, you are Malin Gaiate."

"You’ve finally recognized me," said Malin, who was fitting Fio with armor, nodding, "Are we still fighting? This time I won’t hold back. When I used the World Tree Sapling earlier, I thought someone like you, having lived so long, must have accumulated some blood debts."

"...Speak then, what exactly is going on? Consider that I’ve just been hammered by you and have thereby been elevated a rank," the old man rolled his eyes, looking at Malin, "You’ve killed so many of my people, I thought the World Tree Saplings would abandon you."

"Ha, my heart and actions are utterly unclouded, they are all that of justice!" Malin said pointing to a gasping, dark figure on the wall, "This guy is one of your people, you ask him. He’ll tell you about the humiliation I suffered last night and this morning. The local police chief was willing to let his own child die at the edge of my axe to cover for him, had I not been a bit more cautious, you’d now be speaking to a wrathful Champion of the Gods." Malin spat out the words — that giant was truly ruthless, willing to sacrifice his and his son’s lives to drag him down.

After a quick chat between the white-haired giant and the dark figure, the giant learned of the situation, smacked the figure to the ground with a slap, then turned to Malin with a more complicated look on his face, "I’m sorry about the kid, but I heard he’s in your team now, isn’t he?"

"Yes, like I said, she is now a noble of the Sydney Union," Malin said as he pulled out a whetstone and began sharpening Blood Roar, which screamed joyously inside his head, saying mostly that it wanted to chop up the old man in front of him.

Who’s the real oldie here?

"But her very existence is a symbol; I can’t let you take her with you," the white-haired old man shook his head, "Either hand her over to me; I will ensure her safety, or you turn around and go back now."

"I think I’ll just cleave you in two," Malin responded indifferently, "I’ve promised to attend Baron Anthony’s wedding, and anybody who stands in my way will be killed. Anyone who dares use the lives of the girls by my side and those who serve me as a threat, I’ll annihilate their entire clan. Old man, I’m not a pious and virtuous man. Look at the badge on my chest; your so-called royal subordinates wouldn’t even deign to call me ’Assistant Priest, Your Excellency.’ So, let’s stop talking. Today, either you die here, or I die here."

I just don’t take any crap from you fools, every single one of you messing around!

"I think there’s another way," the old lady walked to a position diagonal from Malin and the silver-haired elder: "Malin marrying Miss Rewo would solve the problem, wouldn’t it? The nobles of the south would not choose a young man from Sydney, blessed with the double grace of the gods, as their new king, especially one who certainly seems destined to become legendary."

"You crazy old hag, have you lost your mind?!" the elder’s eyes bulged with astonishment.

"I already have six wives, please don’t deprive me of my right to rest on weekends," Malin rolled his eyes.

"Mister Malin, don’t you feel a bit of pity for Miss Rewo?" the old lady looked toward Malin.

"Did any of you ever pity me?" Malin spread his hands, then turned to the elder: "Hurry up, let’s have another fight. If I split you in two, there likely won’t be anyone else on your side brave enough to bother me."

The old man was silent for a moment: "The esteemed Red Robe Assistant Priest of the Church of the Goddess of Harvest, Mister Malin, I think this proposal is a good one."

What?

Malin glanced sideways: "Impossible!"

"I’ve thought it over, like Lady Domi said, it’s the best outcome." After saying this, the elder chuckled: "You’ll agree, Mister. Once you’re in the south, you’ll understand."

"Then I shall wait and see." Saying this, Malin flicked his wrist, and the paper worms transformed into spears, nailing the shadowy figure firmly to the ground.

"Mister Malin, you..." "He had to die, I swore an oath." Malin finished speaking, and flames engulfed the man.

"... But he was a Tier Four powerhouse."

"So he could trample on the life of an innocent child, violate my dignity, threaten my family?" Saying this, Malin sighed: "If you disagree, we can fight again."

The elder finally turned and left.

"Mister Malin, I hope you make the right decision and believe you will protect Miss Rewo." Saying this, the lady also stepped through the portal.

Malin pondered for a moment, then walked toward the main gate.

At the gate stood Clovis’s motorcycle, and the Bunny Girl glanced at the bloodstains on Malin’s body: "Faye said, next time you come over to kill, let the family know. An extra hand with a knife could settle all of this faster and better."

"I understand." Malin took a seat at the back: "Clovis, I learned something today."

"What’s that?" Clovis asked while starting the motorcycle.

"I’ve always been in Carterburg. I’ve never seen such an unreasonable person before." Malin paused, then sighed: "Clovis, let me ask you, if one day I have to go to war with the Mage Tower, whom would you help?"

"I would definitely help you, Mister Malin. You have four World Tree Saplings. If you are at war with the Mage Tower, it must be because the Mage Tower has done something wrong. You wouldn’t, everyone believes that."

"... Thank you, Clovis." Malin reached out and embraced Clovis’s waist.

Malin, do not fear, for fear is the poison of the spirit.

Remember, those who do not share your path, do not conspire with them.
