Chapter 1096: Section 686: Let’s List It (2)

Mr. Sneaky wept his heart out, and Malin dared to be sure that this was the first time the young man cried so miserably.

You see, the child of Duke Mundo, even if he couldn’t inherit the title of duke like his brother, was at least born a baron. After being born, the young man probably never felt as aggrieved as he did today.

In Malin’s domain, he spoke freely and exhaustively. For instance, how shells are more precious than human lives; he was the first to bring this up at the general staff’s banquet, and only then did the Carmen family’s kid and the staff members utilize their intelligence.

Some think human lives are cheap, others think the finances don’t support it, and there are those like the Carmen family’s kid who finds floating the most interesting small program among the nobles.

Supposedly, large float might harm the body, but small floats are always thought to nurture the mood.

Unfortunately, they encountered someone like Malin, who was completely unreasonable.

May the Lord have mercy; oh, right, their Lord had just been slain by Malin in his own Divine Realm, and they... had no idea that their faith had reached its end.

"After all, he is the offspring of Duke Mundo." Crown Prince Daniel remarked with maturity and seriousness, making Malin quite pleased — you see, this young man truly is an understanding child. Killing one kid is just killing one, but this kid is different; after all, he’s the child of a duke with real power in the country.

This isn’t like the stray dogs on the roadside.

Thinking of this, Malin snapped his fingers, and a teleportation channel opened instantly, into which Malin poked his head.

On the other side of the channel, Duke Mundo happened to be dining, a very robust middle-aged man with the bloodline of the northern barbarians and Frost Giants, which puzzled Malin — because that Duke Mundo’s child didn’t look like his offspring at all.

However, considering the strong resemblance in their features, Malin decided not to stress this duke: "Duke Mundo, long time no see."

"Uh, is it, is it Lord Malin? Do you have any business?" Duke Mundo’s face paled upon seeing the teleportation channel; the noble mage beside him looked even worse, but when they saw the head emerging belonged to Malin, Duke Mundo immediately put on a mature and steady smile, while the noble mage greeted Malin obsequiously with a mage salute.

The former was curious about how a legendary figure like Lord Malin opened a teleportation channel right in his face from afar, while the latter displayed pure admiration — breaking through a seal set by a noble mage poses no challenge for a legendary mage like Lord Malin.

Face? What face does a six-ring mage have before a legendary figure?

"It’s about your child; could you come over for a moment?" Malin asked — speaking kindly, all because during Malin’s previous chat with Hagelberry, this man was also present. Since they weren’t strangers, Malin gave him some face.

Of course, if he insisted on protecting his child, then Malin wouldn’t give Old Hagelberry any face.

Duke Mundo looked astonished — evidently still unclear which of his little bastards had angered Malin, the tragedy of having too many kids; in Malin’s original world, no doubt Duke Mundo would either be already kneeling to beg for his cub’s life or counting down his own life on his knees.

And so, he could only follow Malin out of the teleportation channel.

Kneeling there, the kid screamed upon seeing his father — "Father! Save me!"

Daniel smacked his own face.

Sudel and Halsan exchanged looks and retreated to the sides.

Carmen, with no change in expression, loaded his shotgun with hollow point bullets.

Duke Mundo looked at Malin, continuing his astonished expression: "Lord Malin, what has happened here."

"Your child has erred." After saying this, Malin clapped his hands.

Duke Mundo’s child immediately began recounting his crimes, and the more he spoke, the more apparent Duke Mundo’s astonishment became.

Finally, when this kid described how he interfered in military affairs and incited Daniel to confront Chaos on the Swoopsk Plains with a line without dependents, ultimately resulting in a total defeat, Duke Mundo’s face showed a hint of reluctance.

When he spoke of the young man stepping forward to shoulder what could be a head-dropping responsibility to protect him, Duke Mundo finally roared in anger; striding up to his little cub, he hammered him to the ground with one punch.

"What can I use to save you! You foolish child!"

Then he turned to Malin: "Lord, what price must I pay to save this useless child of mine... please consider my other child who died in Swoopsk."

He wasn’t lying.

Malin could clearly see the sadness in the duke’s heart when he said this, but at the same time, Malin also sensed the cold indifference of a large family; dead children could always create some value for their brothers.

Thinking of this, Malin sighed: "Duke Mundo, may your faith soothe the pain brought by the loss of your child, but too many peers have died because of your child; every person in this world is born with value, and your child loses his value because he has committed too many mistakes. I am very sorry."
