Chapter 1007: Section 650: Journey to the Caucasus (Part 1)_3
At least humans wouldn’t eat them, nor would they enslave them. The conflict between both sides is purely about survival rights—whoever loses gets out of the way. There’s no need for endless pursuit and killing.
As for Chaos... haha.
"By the way, what do you think about those tribes going to war with humans?" Malin brought up the Living Dead Tribes he had encountered earlier to the chief.
"They are blinded by anger and hatred. The Sage told us that we are merely different-looking forms of life; we are all natives of this planet. Chaos, however, comes from the Outer Domain—they are the enemy of all of us. As for my fellow tribespeople... one day, they will inevitably fall into the realm of darkness." The chief sighed deeply as he finished speaking.
Malin looked at the chief. When the chief mentioned the Union tribes’ fight against Chaos, Malin had already decided to help them. After hearing his perspective on the Living Dead Tribes who were warring with humans, that decision grew even firmer—giving them guns was not an option, nor would guns be any use to them since they didn’t know how to use firearms anyway. Instead, he decided to provide cold weapons: "If your tribe has enough nimble craftspeople, I can dedicate a few months to training your artisans."
"Is that really possible?" The chief’s face was full of astonishment as he replied: "The Thanan people only pay us with metal ingots or weapons, and they suppress the price of our metal ores. Would your friends really agree to let you teach us?"
"They are them, and I am me. I am willing to arm any lifeform willing to fight against Chaos, no matter who they are. I can negotiate with them and make sure they align with me on pricing. Rest assured, as long as you stand with us against Chaos, we will be friends." Malin finished speaking and extended his hand with a smile.
The slender chief hesitated but eventually also extended his hand. It was likely the first time a human hand had shaken hands with that of a Living Dead.
"We are friends now, honorable Mr. Malin," the chief said.
"Yes. By the way, I still don’t know your name," Malin asked for his name.
"The Sage gave me a name... Wanda. That’s my name," the chief replied with a smile.
"Wonderful, Chief Wanda. This is the union of five fingers and four fingers," Malin said solemnly.
......
After leaving the Central Tower where the chief resided, Matilda expressed her concern: "Arming the Living Dead... it doesn’t sound like a good idea to me."
"Why not? They can help us eliminate Chaos more effectively," Malin asked with a smile.
"If there comes a day when Chaos is defeated, perhaps the war between us will reignite," Matilda said, voicing her concerns.
"There’s no need to worry about that, Matilda. You should think of it this way: our conflict with Chaos is the most straightforward life-or-death struggle. In fighting Chaos, we need to unite with anyone who can be united, whether or not they were once our enemies." As he spoke, Malin reached out and embraced his lover: "We need to have faith in our descendants, faith in our civilization. Humanity is, and will always be, the true master of this world."
Matilda finally freed herself from her mental shadows. Smiling, she nodded firmly.
"Yes, we have faith."
Saying this, the bushy-tailed fox wrapped her arms tightly around Malin’s neck.
"More importantly, I have faith in you," she said joyously.
