He Zhilan was unwrapping the package while guessing what could be inside and who it was from. However, she could never have imagined that inside would be a piece of clothing.

At this moment, He Zhilan was truly baffled. In S Province, who could send her a dress so mysteriously out of the blue?

After guessing for a while, He Zhilan couldn’t figure out who it could be. With a laugh, she took the folded dress out of the cardboard box, gave it a shake, and then saw something black fall under the bed.

Glancing at the white long-sleeve dress, He Zhilan placed the dress on the bed and bent down to pick up the object from under the bed. But when her hand touched the black object, she froze.

The black object underneath the bed turned out to be a small handgun!

After she took the handgun out from beneath the bed, He Zhilan weighed it in the palm of her hand. She checked the gun, confirmed it was a real firearm, not a toy replica, and that there were even two bullets remaining in the magazine.

A handgun delivered by someone unknown, alongside a snow-white dress—He Zhilan was utterly confused.

What could the handgun and the dress signify? Was someone playing a prank? Or was it an attempt to intimidate her?

But handguns are not things that just any ordinary person can obtain easily—someone would need money, connections, and channels to acquire one.

The first person He Zhilan thought of was Lan Song from Lanteng Company, someone who might be playing tricks on her behind the scenes. But, remembering Lan Song’s temperament and intelligence, He Zhilan doubted he could pull off something like this.

He Zhilan believed the saying "the ship will straighten itself when it reaches the bridge," so without any clue as to why this had happened, she carefully folded the dress back into the box, replaced the handgun, looked around the room, and casually placed the cardboard box on a small round table, paying no further attention to it.

Afterward, He Zhilan calmly gathered her belongings and left her residence. Initially, she had planned to find Xing Ye, but then she remembered that he had travelled out of town for a couple of days, so she went to the Lanteng Plantation instead.

He Zhilan decided to set up the Perfume Development Base at the plantation in S Province. It would only require expanding an office and a factory. As everything would be centralized, it would make her management easier and also facilitate the work and access for Jennifer and her team.

By the time she left the plantation, it was already dark. After dining out in the city with Jennifer and Nuoyin, the latter two decided to spend some time at a small bar, while He Zhilan, worried about encountering Niu Rang, chose not to join them. The three separated on a street near the bar; while Jennifer and Nuoyin headed to the bar, He Zhilan stood on the sidewalk waiting for a taxi.

They had only been apart for a short while when it suddenly began to pour. Perhaps it was because of this that it became incredibly hard to hail a taxi. As He Zhilan held her umbrella and watched the large raindrops fall from the sky, she inwardly rejoiced that He Teng had previously tucked a foldable umbrella into her bag before she left for S Province, saving her from getting drenched.

It doesn’t snow in the winter of S Province, but as He Teng had said, although there is no snow here, when it rains, it’s all up to the whim of the heavens.

Standing in the rain, umbrella in hand, He Zhilan waited nearly half an hour before she finally got a taxi.
