Chapter 707: Chapter 707: A Lost Kiss 6_1
For He Zhilan, her journey with He Teng so far seemed worth it. His reaction last night was enough to strengthen her resolve to hold on to him no matter what. As long as he showed the slightest hint of affection for her, she would do her utmost to preserve that glimmer of liking.
She didn’t need He Teng to do much. It didn’t matter as she, He Zhilan, could take strides towards him step by step on the rest of their journey together.
Since He Dongxue was a freshman, she had to register in advance. After spending three days at the military camp, He Zhilan and He Dongxue left. Lin Chan, the dedicated and responsible driver, was again there to pick them up from the capital’s train station. As freshmen were already allowed to report to their university, Lin Chan drove the two to the First Military Medical University. Once they had registered, He Dongxue stayed behind in her dormitory.
While He Zhilan was helping He Dongxue settle into her dorm, Lin Chan made a round of the school offices, showing his face and requesting the school’s leaders keep an extra eye on He Dongxue. Only then did he return to the dormitory to wait for He Zhilan.
Once He Dongxue was settled, Lin Chan took He Zhilan away from the campus. He drove towards the restaurant, remembering something Lihua had told him to do, "Zhilan, Lihua asked me the other day to take you to see her when you had the time. She has something for you and wanted to give it to you personally, for fear that I won’t do it justice."
"Lihua? She didn’t go back to her country?" asked He Zhilan, "I thought she left after finishing her work here!"
"She did, but she had a long vacation after finishing her work, so she came to the capital to find John," Lin Chan explained, then proposed, "Why don’t we stay at my place tonight? My parents will be home for dinner. The more, the merrier!"
"Sure!" He Zhilan agreed with a smile.
Returning to the restaurant evoked a sense of nostalgia for He Zhilan. She was warmly greeted by familiar old customers, many of whom were curious about how she was doing. Some even remembered to ask about the scar from her burn injury.
"Zhilan, come upstairs to John’s office. Lin Chan, you come up too!" Lihua called out from the second floor, waving at the two people downstairs.
"Sister Lihua, you’re even more beautiful than the last time I saw you ~" Lin Chan greeted her warmly with a hug and complimenting her looks as soon as he got upstairs. Women naturally love hearing such sweet words, and Lihua couldn’t stop smiling at his flattery.
Once they entered the office, Lihua closed the door. She gently pushed Lin Chan to make tea with John and took He Zhilan aside. As they walked towards John’s desk, Lihua said, "I saw your injury when I was in C Province last time. You had a serious burn scar on your hand. I was worried that you, as a girl, would be marked by such scars, so I asked a friend of mine to give you something to try when I returned home."
"What’s that?" He Zhilan felt warm inside knowing that Lihua had been thinking about her burn injury while she was abroad. Seeing Lihua take out three small dark vials, she became curious.
"These are essential oils made by my friend. They can help to fade the scars on your body. You can try mixing them on your own when you get home." After putting the vials in front of He Zhilan, Lihua went to another corner of the room and brought back a large bottle of liquid that looked like mineral water. "This is Bulgarian Rose Hydrosol, also made by my friend. You can mix it with pure water to use. This is a very good organic cosmetic product, and it’s hard to find it in many places at the moment."
