"She went to her maternal grandparents’ house half a month ago and probably won’t be back until school starts." Kang Xing said and then his eyes fell on He Dongxue, "Is this our platoon leader’s other sister?"

Kang Xing, while speaking, just stood foolishly in front of He Zhilan and He Dongxue. His gaze lingered on He Dongxue’s face for a few seconds, then slowly moved away, his face suddenly turned beet red.

"Yes, her name is Dongxue." He Teng answered Kang Xing without paying much attention and just continued to walk forward.

"Dongxue... Little sister~" Kang Xing called out, then suddenly hung his head low, the entire atmosphere around him becoming odd.

He Zhilan glanced at Kang Xing, then at He Dongxue, hearing He Dongxue whisper to her about how strange Kang Xing was acting.

"Kang Xing, are you coming with us to the guesthouse?" He Zhilan called out to the utterly still Kang Xing, "Why are you blushing? Is it really that hot out?"

As He Zhilan was speaking, He Dongxue covered her mouth and chuckled quietly.

"Oh~" Kang Xing responded belatedly, perhaps noticing that He Dongxue was laughing at him. raising his head to look at He Dongxue, he made a face at her. It looked like a smile and not quite a smile, like a monkey baring its teeth, amusing He Dongxue to laughter once more.

But the moment Kang Xing took a step forward, the people in front almost laughed till they fell over.

"Oh, for goodness sake!" Niu Rang cursed under his breath, and gave Kang Xing a smack on the forehead, "What are you doing? How do you walk? Left hand with left foot? Same foot and hand?"

"I...I...I’m nervous!" Kang Xing admitted while scratching his head.

"Nervous about what?" He Teng turned his head and shot a glance at Kang Xing, "It’s not a parade drill, what’s there to be nervous about?"

Kang Xing instinctively glanced at He Dongxue, then quickly looked away and shook his head vigorously, his face becoming increasingly red.

Upon arriving at the guesthouse, He Teng took them straight to the room that had been prepared beforehand. Since the commissar’s wife was not present, he didn’t bother anyone else, it was he and a few others, including Kang Xing, who had tidied up the room.

"You guys will stay in this room for the next couple of days. It’s cooler in this room." While He Teng was speaking, his gaze slid from He Dongxue’s face and ended up on He Zhilan’s. Just as he was about to speak, he was interrupted by He Zhilan.

"I know I know!" He Zhilan quickly raised her hand to interrupt He Teng’s gaze, "When I change my clothes, I will follow you out for training!"

"If sister-in-law goes to train with us this afternoon, then Dongxue will be left alone, right?" Kang Xing softly muttered to himself.

"Dongxue can come with us!" He Zhilan turned to He Teng, "What are you guys training this afternoon, is it strength or technique?"

"We’re going to target practice this afternoon!" Niu Rang said quickly, "Sister-in-law, you like shooting targets, right?"

At first, He Dongxue was planning to say that she didn’t want to be under the hot sun, but then she reconsidered. After all, she was visiting a military base to see such things. Feeling afraid of the sun would defeat the purpose of her visit, so she agreed after hearing that He Zhilan liked shooting.

He Teng didn’t object, but he didn’t plan on really training He Dongxue either. After setting a time, he left the guesthouse with Kang Xing and Niu Rang.
