"Cherish" was not sufficient to describe He Zhilan’s current mood. She was almost cautiously preserving the harmony with He Teng, not daring to take a single misstep.

The two stayed in the library until lunchtime, and then He Teng took He Zhilan to the military school’s cafeteria for lunch. With He Teng around, He Zhilan’s appetite doubled. After lunch, thoughtful of He Teng’s need for a noon nap to recover, He Zhilan returned to Capital University alone.

The entire weekend, He Zhilan went to the military school early with Jiang Biyun. Then, they split up, with He Zhilan accompanying He Teng, and Jiang Biyun seeking out Lin Deng. Then, He Zhilan and He Teng would spend half a day in the library, eat together, take a nap in the afternoon, then return to He Teng until she headed back to her school at eight o’clock at night. Jiang Biyun, on the other hand, was taken by Lin Deng to Capital University’s gate each night.

He Zhilan did not ask Jiang Biyun what she had done with Lin Deng over the weekend. However, judging from appearances it seemed Lin Deng had taken Jiang Biyun to a lot of places to have fun. Every day, Jiang Biyun came back dead tired but immensely happy. However, the happier Jiang Biyun seemed, the more worried He Zhilan and Chen Xiting became.

Fortunately, throughout the weekend, Gu En did not appear in the dormitory.

After washing up, it was already past nine in the evening. Jiang Biyun went straight to He Zhilan’s bunk with a delighted smile on her face. But, glancing at the bunk below, she sighed, "Did you notice Gu En’s gaze that day at the military school? It was quite frightening. Now, I really don’t want to see Gu En. But she hasn’t come to school for several days, and it’s Monday tomorrow, so she should probably show up."

"Has Gu En not sought out Lin Deng after that?" He Zhilan casually asked.

Jiang Biyun shook her head, "No, Lin Deng spent the whole day with me until night! Lin Deng said he called Gu En once, but she didn’t pick up. He heard from Lan Li that Gu En hadn’t gone home for several days, and nobody knows where she went."

"She’s probably hanging out with her friends." He Zhilan responded coldly, "Let’s not bother. If she does come, we’ll just ignore her and prevent her from causing us any trouble."

Jiang Biyun nodded her head, then hugged He Zhilan’s arm and was pleased for quite a while, but she didn’t say a word about how she got along with Lin Deng, "Lin Deng is really a great guy! He’s funny, courteous!"

"You’re smitten, there’s no hope for you." Chen Xiting chimed in from across the room.

Jiang Biyun chuckled a couple of times, then got down from He Zhilan’s bunk bed and prepared to return to her own. But as soon as her foot hit the ground, the dorm phone rang. She grumbled about who could be calling at this hour, then went to pick it up.

"Zhilan, it’s for you, a male caller." Jiang Biyun called out to He Zhilan and didn’t immediately go back to her own bunk, but leaned to the side waiting for He Zhilan to come and answer the phone.

"Didn’t he say who it was?" He Zhilan mumbled, thinking it could be Lin Chan, before picking up the phone and saying hello, but when she heard Lan Song’s voice on the other end, she wanted to hang up immediately!

"He Zhilan, how is your health? I heard you’ve been out of the hospital for a few days. It’s been a busy few days, so I haven’t been able to see you." Lan Song’s light-hearted voice sounded like an old friend’s greeting, "But you must be okay since you’re out of the hospital. That night you drank so much before I even noticed, I assumed you were just being modest when you said you couldn’t drink. If I had known you really couldn’t handle your liquor, I would never have gotten you into that predicament."
