Chapter 359: Chapter 359 Discretion Advised 9_1
"Go on, go on~ These two siblings are really bookworms~ The library at the Capital Military School is no smaller than that of our Capital University. Read to your heart’s content!" Jiang Biyun waved at He Zhilan with a beaming smile, secretly giving a thumbs-up to He Zhilan, praising that He Zhilan, as her best friend, could understand her meaning with just a glance.
He Zhilan shook her head, had to follow He Teng and continue forward, but unexpectedly, as she turned around, she saw Gu En, who had appeared like a ghost a few meters behind them without them realising.
Everyone noticed He Zhilan’s expression, and looked back in confusion along her line of sight.
"Gu En." Lin Deng called out, but before he could catch up, Gu En had already ran off with big strides. The look in his eyes when he left, however, was somewhat alarming.
"It’s over, it’s over, Gu En is definitely angry!" Lin Deng slapped his forehead, "It’s going to take a long time to calm him down! Gu En is the hardest to appease when he’s angry! That’s my biggest headache!"
"He’s eighteen, not eight, does he need to be appeased? Moreover, he is a person who has done wrong and doesn’t know to repent." Jiang Biyun muttered a sentence on the side.
"Brother, let’s go, to the library." He Zhilan didn’t respond, but followed He Teng towards the library. She and Gu En had already broken up. She was not afraid of offending Gu En any further, so her reaction could be described as somewhat cold.
As Jiang Biyun said, the library of the Military School was indeed no smaller than that of Capital University, especially with regards to military books, which were much more abundant than at Capital University. He Teng became interested when he saw these books, while He Zhilan still preferred some foreign classics more.
Both of them picked a book and sat down side by side. The library was very quiet, it was still early, and there were not many people. Only the occasional sounds of footsteps and flipping pages could be heard by their side.
After only a short while of reading, He Zhilan’s mind began to wander. She closed the book and simply rested her head on her hands, watching He Teng next to her. He Teng didn’t read much, but reading books and newspapers was one of his few hobbies. It was just that the books he liked had to be associated with military and national affairs.
He Teng read attentively, his eyebrows frowning slightly due to some content in the book that left him dissatisfied. He Zhilan didn’t realize that He Teng could be so attractive outside the training ground.
A man who is dedicated to doing something always involuntarily attracts the attention of others.
Just like her brother, He Teng, whether he was training with sweat dripping down his face, or sitting quietly next to her reading, she loved it enormously.
"Brother." He Zhilan suddenly tugged on He Teng’s sleeve and called out to him. When He Teng turned his head to look at her, she merely smiled at him sweetly but didn’t say anything. Then she carried on turning the pages of her book and resuming her reading.
He Teng was baffled by He Zhilan’s smile, but as long as He Zhilan was smiling, he took it to mean that she was in a good mood, and thus didn’t think about it any further. He simply continued reading the book in his hand.
As for He Zhilan, at this moment, she was overjoyed.
When He Teng lectured people, she felt scared. His criticism in the hospital that day had nearly made her feel utterly humiliated. So now, being able to sit with He Teng and read books, even without talking, made He Zhilan very happy.
He Teng still dotes on her, right? Otherwise, despite the outrageous things she had done, he would still choose to forgive her this time. And not ruthlessly send her back to the countryside.
