Chapter 3621: Talk
Chapter 3621: Talk
The battle between Lu Yin and Emperor Wu had let everyone witness the power of the highest level in the megaverse. Those two existed at a level where even the Seven Seraphs most likely could not do anything to them.
People finally understood why Lu Yin had been so brazen and arrogant this whole time, why he had been able to confiscate their resources and even barge into the High Seraph’s Apex Palace; it was all because Lu Yin had the confidence to do so.
The Grandverse Manor’s Third Boss was truly an invincible expert in the Spirit Nidus.
The battle at the source of the Fu River had rewritten the history of combat for the Spirit Nidus. Previously, there had been no known conflict at that level.
How could such a battle even occur without an opponent at the same level as the High Seraph for him to fight?
One had just appeared.
No one knew when the High Seraph would fight against Seraph Lu.
When that moment arrived, what would happen to the Spirit Nidus? There were quite a few other experts still hiding on Boundless.
Of course, it was possible that the battle would not even take place in the Spirit Nidus. The High Seraph had stated his intentions to lead the Seven Seraphs to the Consciousness Megaverse and destroy the Willbound Expanse. Word of this matter had spread, and many cultivators were seeking ways to join that expedition. It was possible that this would be the Consciousness Megaverse’s last bit of resistance. Once it was crushed, there was no saying when the megaverse would be reset, as it could happen at any moment. Joining the expedition was a far better opportunity than waiting for the Consciousness Megaverse’s utter defeat.
This was clear to everyone; if the Consciousness Megaverse was defeated and all of the Thirteen Luminaries were slaughtered, then everyone from the Spirit Nidus would want to go and be present for the megaverse’s reset in order to gain benefits. The experts who were reaching the end of their lifespans were especially eager to do so.
People already knew that there would not be enough battleships to transport everyone. Regardless of how many ships there were, it was impossible for there to be enough to carry the countless cultivators who wanted to go. Each person’s chances of joining the expedition was quite slim, but it would nonetheless be pursued by many.
As news spread, the Ark Domain saw a surge in the number of people joining.
Many cultivators attempted to have their disciples join the Ark Domain, all so that they would have a better chance of boarding a battleship when the final expedition headed out to the Consciousness Megaverse. At the very least, if their disciples became familiar faces in the Ark Domain, they might be able to help their family's ancestors or elders join as well. The Ark Domain was considered a shortcut.
Because of this, the number of such incidents would only further increase with time.
The Ark Domain was not alone; similar things happened at the Heavencraft Domain, Spirit Treasure Domain, and several other domains as well. Regardless of if it was crafting weapons, learning spirit treasure formations, or other similar endeavors, the entire Spirit Nidus had been mobilized.
Even the Hundred Grasses Domain saw a rise in the number of cultivators trying to join Boundless.
While people had long believed that Boundless was doomed to eventually be destroyed, the battle at the source of the Fu River had revealed Lu Yin’s unbelievable strength. Even if the Spirit Nidus wanted to annihilate Boundless, doing so would be extremely challenging. It was far more likely for the battleship to ultimately be fully integrated into the Spirit Nidus, either by replacing one of the major powers or simply being accepted as the eighth major power. But before that happened, it would be far easier to join Boundless.
Everyone was bluntly refused. Before Lu Yin returned, no one aboard Boundless had the authority to allow people to join.
Following the battle at the source of the Fu River, Lu Yin vanished for half a month. Everyone assumed that he was in seclusion to heal his wounds, which stoked even greater regret within Cheng Gong, and his resentment towards the cowards grew. Had they ambushed Lu Yin after the battle, they surely would have succeeded.
After half a month, Lu Yin reappeared, but he did so in the Consciousness Domain.
No one had expected him to visit the Consciousness Domain instead of returning to the Hundred Grasses Domain.
When Lu Yin arrived, every cultivator in the Consciousness Domain greeted him in a respectful manner, fear covering their faces.
Why has Lord Lu come again? The man had already clashed with or in the Consciousness Domain multiple times. When Boundless had been gathering resources, the Consciousness Domain had fiercely fought back against Lu Yin’s representatives. After the Day of Offering, the Consciousness Domain had, again, been the first place that Lu Yin had visited. What did it all mean? Was he possibly planning on destroying the Consciousness Domain at this time?
Shi Lin immediately led the Revolt Alliance’s powerhouses out to greet the Seraph. "The Revolt Alliance’s Shi Lin offers greetings, Seraph Lu."
"The Revolt Alliance’s Daoist Fengzhi offers greetings, Seraph Lu."
"The Revolt Alliance’s..."
Lu Yin’s expression remained cold as his eyes swept over the gathered crowd. Everyone was too frightened to even lift their heads.
Lu Yin’s status in the Spirit Nidus had risen to the point where he was now regarded as not being much lower than the High Seraph himself.
Both possessed unmatched strength. The High Seraph ruled over the Spirit Nidus from a position of supremacy, forcing everyone to lower themselves in submission. As for Lu Yin, he relied on arrogance and lawlessness, but people had no more thoughts of resisting him than they did the High Seraph.
To most people, dealing with Lu Yin was no different from dealing with the High Seraph.
"Where is Wu Wei?" Lu Yin asked coldly.
Shi Lin was not surprised by the question, and he had even already guessed at the reason for Lu Yin’s visit. His previous visit had also been because of Wu Wei. At that time, Shi Lin had asked the Ascendant Hall for help, and Jiu Xian had come. Shi Lin himself had been forced to attack Lu Yin, but fortunately, the Seraph did not hold a grudge for that.
At this moment, Shi Lin’s greatest fear was the possibility of Lu Yin wanting to settle old scores. This visit was simply too sudden.
"To- to answer you, Seraph Lu, Wu Wei is not here."
Lu Yin stared coldly at Shi Lin. "Not here? Then where did that conscient go?"
"I don't know."
"Repeat that."
Shi Lin’s heart sank. He bowed low and replied, "When Wu Wei left here, he went to the Ascendant Hall. However, I have no idea where they went from there."
Lu Yin stared at Shi Lin, who kept his head bowed. He grew paler by the moment, terrified. If Lu Yin decided to attack, Shi Lin knew that he would die.
Shi Lin was the leader of the Revolt Alliance and the current master of the Consciousness Domain, but his strength was insufficient for his position. He needed additional breakthroughs to actually reach those heights. Still, he was confident that he could one day cultivate his consciousness to the Universe realm, and he might even have a chance to compete for the title of Seraph. Unfortunately, all of that was predicated on him surviving. Even if Shi Lin did become a Seraph, his title would mean little before Seraph Lu.
The brief silence felt unbearably long to Shi Lin. Only when a voice broke the stillness was he finally able to release a sigh of relief.
"I wonder, why has Lord Lu come here to the Consciousness Domain? Forgive me for not welcoming you before this."
Lu Yin turned to the new arrival and saw a middle-aged man wearing a purple robe walking towards him. The man appeared calm, and there was a small smile on his face. His eyes were steady as he met Lu Yin’s gaze. There was neither hostility nor wariness. The man behaved like a man of culture greeting a gentle neighbor.
This man was Zi Tianshu.
Lu Yin had heard this man mentioned more than once. The greatest legend attached to his name was the fact that he had been a Seraph, but then had voluntarily renounced the title. If he had chosen to retain the title, neither Meng Sang nor Bao Qi would have had the opportunity to achieve that position. Zi Tianshu was someone capable of becoming a Seraph at any time, and everyone knew it. Even Su Shidao had admitted that he would struggle against Zi Tianshu.
For some, the title of Seraph was something desired, while for others, it was something as temporary and fleeting as a cloud passing by.
However, Lu Yin was more inclined to believe that the man had been forced to relinquish his title by the High Seraph. This was because many experts coveted the title not for the power associated with it, but rather for the possibility of witnessing the strange scene on the Day of Offering, which was the path that could lead to becoming the High Seraph.
“Zi Tianshu?”
The man slowly bowed as he faced Lu Yin. “Zi Tianshu offers his greetings, Seraph Lu.”
Behind him stood a purple-clad woman, who nervously looked up. She was Zi Yi, Zi Tianshu’s daughter. During the Nine Horizons, she had attempted to complete the Nine Steps, only to be outwitted by a chubby man from the Heavencraft Domain. Later on, in trying to compensate for her earlier failure, Zi Yi had confronted Lu Yin, only to be dragged away by an old woman.
It was because she had Zi Tianshu behind her that Zi Yi was able to boldly roam anywhere in the Spirit Nidus. Even so, she felt completely powerless in front of Lu Yin, even though, when she first met him, his reputation had not nearly been this formidable.
At this moment, Zi Yi clearly understood what kind of person Lu Yin was. It was extremely dangerous for her father to stand up for the Consciousness Domain.
However, her father had also been sent to the Consciousness Domain in order to protect it.
The High Seraph was aware that Seraph Lu despised the Consciousness Domain, and so, he had sent Zi Tianshu to serve as the domain’s guardian. Realizing this caused Zi Yi to feel incredibly frustrated.
Lu Yin observed Zi Tianshu. “No wonder everyone says that you relinquished the title of Seraph after obtaining it. I honestly believed that the whole thing was made up, but it appears that you truly possess the strength to be a Seraph.”
“You are overpraising me, Seraph Lu. Compared to you, my strength is but a joke.”
Lu Yin replied, “Have you ever considered retaking the title of Seraph? Emperor Wu’s defeat has opened up a seat. You could give it a try.”
Shi Lin was astonished. Does Seraph Lu intend to support Zi Tianshu?
Zi Tianshu’s face remained expressionless. “Emperor Wu’s title of Seraph can only be held by another beast-form Spirit Rebirth. Besides, I have no intention of holding the title of Seraph. Thank you for the kind offer, Seraph Lu.”
Lu Yin looked away. “What a pity.”
Zi Tianshu had no idea what Lu Yin meant. Did this man, who Zi Tianshu was meeting for the first time, already have an idea of supporting him in becoming a Seraph?
Beside the man, Shi Lin was staring at Zi Tianshu.
Zi Tianshu exchanged a glance with the other man and then asked, "I wonder, why have you come here to the Consciousness Domain at this time, Seraph Lu?"
Lu Yin casually replied, "I'm looking for Wu Wei."
"Wu Wei is not here. If you are looking for them, I can help by inquiring with the Ascendant Hall."
"Alright, go ahead." Lu Yin had no objection.
Zi Tianshu was taken aback. He had only been offering to be polite, but after seeing that Lu Yin was serious in accepting the offer, the man could only take out his spirit cloudstone and call Lan.
"What is it?" Lan’s voice was soon heard.
Zi Tianshu asked, "Where is Wu Wei?"
Lan replied in a confused tone, "Wu Wei? Why do you want with them?"
Zi Tianshu glanced at Lu Yin as he responded, "Tell them to return to the Consciousness Domain so that I can leave."
"They cannot return to the Consciousness Domain. Lu Yin is searching for the Luminary. That man is too bull-headed, brutish, violin-"
Bang!
The spirit cloudstone suddenly shattered.
Shi Lin and several others stared at Zi Tianshu in astonishment.
He coughed once and apologized, "I am sorry, Seraph Lu, but this spirit cloudstone is simply too old and randomly broke. I will try again."
Lu Yin calmly stared at the man. "Alright."
Resigned to his fate, Zi Tianshu had no choice but to find another spirit cloudstone and make another call. However, he did not reach out to Lan, but rather called other members of the Ascendant Hall. Unfortunately, none of them knew Wu Wei’s location.
Lu Yin simply watched as Zi Tianshu made call after call. Until Lu Yin told the man to stop, Zi Tianshu would continue making calls.
This was not because Zi Tianshu was afraid of Lu Yin. Given the man’s cultivation level, fear had become irrelevant. If it was impossible to win a fight, then he could simply escape. He possessed at least that much confidence in himself. The primary reason that he continued was to maintain a pleasant atmosphere, and Zi Tianshu was not one to deliberately disrupt the mood. Besides, he had already agreed to help Lu Yin make some inquiries. Stopping at this juncture would make the man feel like he was going back on his word.
That was, unless Lu Yin put a stop to things himself.
Lu Yin simply watched and allowed Zi Tianshu to reach out to whoever he wished.
Shi Lin and the others who were also present had no choice but to wait.
Zi Tianshu glanced at Lu Yin. He felt rather helpless as he continued to make more and more calls.
"Zi Tianshu." Lan’s voice came through once more.
Zi Tianshu coughed lightly. "I’m here."
"Is Seraph Lu in the Consciousness Domain?" Lan had quickly realized the situation. Given that Zi Tianshu had already reached out to her, there was no other reason for him to have continued contacting so many people after already receiving an answer from Lan. She had very quickly grasped that he was being pressured.
Zi Tianshu looked over at Lu Yin.
Lu Yin reached out a hand and took the spirit cloudstone. "Talk."
In the Ascendant Hall, Lan's expression instantly soured. She had been bluntly bad mouthing someone behind their back, only for that person to overhear. She took a deep breath, and stated, "Wu Wei is not in the Ascendant Hall."
"Where are they?"
"Only Lord High Seraph knows."
"Useless." Lu Yin simply crushed the spirit cloudstone.
Zi Tianshu was left speechless. Another one just shattered...
In the Ascendant Hall, Lan was briefly stunned, but she quickly shot a furious glare at her spirit cloudstone. That man is unbelievably rude!
In her rage, Lan also crushed her own spirit cloudstone.
