Chapter 3613: Heavens Seal Sequence Base

Chapter 3613: Heaven's Seal Sequence Base

In the middle of the wilderness, Emperor Wu stared at Lu Yin, his long-suppressed desire to fight finally erupting violently. A terrifying aura shot straight into the sky, producing shockwaves that twisted the void and tore space apart with a deafening roar.

"It seems that you’ve been restraining yourself for a long time," Lu Yin mentioned, his fingers moving slightly. His aura spiked like a beast released from a cage, and it clashed with Emperor Wu’s.

While neither had attacked yet, just the clash between their auras was already earth-shattering. The Fu River was churning and splashing onto both banks.

The waves of energy pressured the entire universe, and fierce gales were kicked up that swept across the land. Many of the watching cultivators struggled to even breathe as the air was literally sucked away from them, which resulted in them coughing uncontrollably.

More and more cultivators pulled further back.

Everyone had believed that they had stayed far enough away, only to learn that they were still too close.

The battle had not even started. Just the mere clash of auras had already pushed back the bounds of what they considered a safe distance. When the two truly fought, who could withstand the shockwaves of their battle?

A large number of cultivators retreated much further.

The Fu River’s water scattered, and the droplets fell back down like rain. Lit by distant sources, the drops shimmered like multicolored gems that decorated the starry sky.

Emperor Wu's lips pulled back into a smile. "Indeed, I’ve held myself back for a long time. Everyone claims that you are second only to the High Seraph, but I will defeat you here and now. After this, I will defeat the High Seraph."

Lu Yin cocked a brow. "You’re quite confident. It looks like I was right. The reason why you delayed the fight for so long wasn't because you’re afraid of me, but rather because you needed time for something else."

Emperor Wu did not deny it. "Mastering a battle technique."

"Interesting." Lu Yin's expression grew somber. Given Emperor Wu’s strength, the fact that he had needed to buy time to master a battle technique meant that he must have been severely handicapped for a time. The battle technique also had to be extremely powerful, to the point where Emperor Wu believed that it would let him defeat not only Lu Yin, but also the High Seraph.

Before Possessing Wu Wei, Lu Yin had not thought that the High Seraph would be too difficult to defeat. No matter what, the man was not an Immortal, just a Dukkhan, just the same as Emperor Wu.

Since they were both at the same level, why should the High Seraph be undefeatable?

However, Lu Yin had since come to believe that no one in any of the three megaverses was capable of defeating the High Seraph. He was simply invincible. Just as the inhabitants of the Spirit Nidus were unable to see Lu Yin’s limits, he was unable to fully understand the High Seraph’s strength. How could anyone face such an expert?

The way the rest of the Spirit Nidus saw Lu Yin was exactly how Lu Yin saw the High Seraph.

There was no denying that it was an infuriating situation.

It was no wonder why the people of the Spirit Nidus had constantly been trying to test Lu Yin’s limits.

From far away, all the onlookers stared on as two overwhelming auras twined like two monstrous creatures high up in the sky. They tore the universe in half and suffocated all who stood below.

No one dared to attempt to get any closer, and no one dared to make contact with the clashing auras.

Suddenly, the oppressive auras vanished.

People’s eyes instantly focused. It was starting!

Bang!

A thunderous explosion rang out, causing countless cultivators to clutch their ears while they let out screams of agony. The sudden impact proved too much for them, and the force of the shockwave was enough to induce an instinctive reaction from their bodies. That natural reaction transformed into backlash, which caused many individuals to bleed from their seven orifices due to their internal organs rupturing.

"Anyone who’s not at least a Spirit Ancestor, fall back! Don’t risk death! There are some battles that aren’t meant to be watched! Just hearing them can kill you!" someone roared.

Cultivators pulled back like a receding tide.

Down on the ground, Lu Yin and Emperor Wu’s fists had met. The impact had released a massive explosion that plunged their surroundings into darkness. Emperor Wu's pupils shrank; cracks were spreading across his fist. His body immediately started to transform, as he could not afford to wait any longer. He was not facing that toad, Wilderness God, or even Old Salamander. This opponent was a true powerhouse, and his physical strength was unmatched.

Emperor Wu had once caught Astral Anura’s steel fork, stopping it with one hand. He had then physically overpowered Wilderness God and left him struggling, despite Emperor Wu only being in his human form. If not for the Origin Progenitor returning the Primordial Skyflame Beast’s inheritance to Wilderness God, he would have never been able to force Emperor Wu into his beast form.

However, that same strength was unable to stand up to even one of Lu Yin’s punches.

Emperor Wu did not hesitate at all to transform into his beast form. He grew ten meters tall, and a red stripe ran down his face, looking like a trail left by tears of blood. This was Emperor Wu’s true form, a woodpecker.

As his body transformed, his fists grew larger, and his physical strength surged. He then punched down at Lu Yin with incredible power.

Lu Yin raised his own hand, while simultaneously releasing his inner universe. Infinity coursed through his body even as Wielder-realm battle force covered his arm. He stepped forward and threw a punch.

Bang!

Another deafening explosion echoed across the shattering universe. Shockwaves rippled outward, fracturing space in waves as they spread and warped and tore everything apart. The universe itself trembled.

Beneath the two combatants, the wilderness crumbled.

Emperor Wu was forced back once again. Despite having no eyes, his shock was readily visible.

In his beast form, Emperor Wu thought that he was physically stronger than any other creature in the entire Spirit Nidus. He was certain that none could match his brute strength and that it was enough to overpower any of the other of the Seven Seraphs. However, at this moment, Emperor Wu was the one being overpowered. Lu Yin’s physical strength had shattered Emperor Wu’s understanding.

"Is that all?" Lu Yin used Inverse Step to travel at the speed of time and instantly reach Emperor Wu. A kick snapped out, Lu Yin’s movements smooth and seamless. It was almost a perfect repetition of how he had defeated Emperor Slayer.

However, Emperor Wu was not Emperor Slayer. The massive hands spread out, and an enormous serrated blade swung across at Lu Yin. The weapon's immense size meant that the attack covered a vast area, and Lu Yin was forced to pull back his kick. As he looked at the approaching blade, he actually countered it with another kick.

Clang!

The serrated blade twisted when it was struck, but Emperor Wu reached out from behind the blade and grabbed hold of Lu Yin’s leg. He intended to pick the human up and smash him into the ground.

However, Emperor Wu discovered that it was absolutely impossible for him to move Lu Yin at all.

Lu Yin’s eyes grew cold, and he twisted his body, harnessing enough of his strength to send tremors through the sky as Emperor Wu was the one sent reeling.

It was a contest of pure strength, but everyone watching was left dumbfounded; Emperor Wu had actually lost the exchange.

Not only that, but he also had not been able to leverage even the smallest advantage.

Hu Wu, Tian Ya, and everyone else was completely shocked. While they had known that Lu Yin was powerful, they had never imagined that he was capable of outright suppressing Emperor Wu. Lu Yin was facing Emperor Wu, the being universally acknowledged as second only to the High Seraph in the Spirit Nidus.

Emperor Wu crashed into the ground down below, but as he landed, Lu Yin’s fist was already hurtling towards him, the human’s body withering as he used Extremes Must Be Reversed.

Emperor Wu let out a deep breath. With just his physical strength, it really was impossible to match up to the human. However, he was Emperor Wu, the ruler of all beast-form Spirit Rebirths and the wielder of their sequence base: Heaven's Seal. It had but one ability: overwhelming power.

Suddenly, yellow lightning exploded, and it spread across Emperor Wu’s entire body.

Far away, Jiu Weihu and the other beast-form Spirit Rebirths were visibly shaken; Emperor Wu had actually brought out Heaven's Seal for this fight.

Just how much pressure was Emperor Wu feeling for him to bring out Heaven's Seal so early on in the fight?

On the opposite side of the Fu River, Hu Wu, Tian Ya, and many others exchanged glances. Was Emperor Wu really using his sequence base already? A sequence base was treated as a final trump card. Was it possible that Emperor Wu had already been pushed to his limit?

The yellow lightning continued to surge through Emperor Wu’s body, and it generated visible waves of power that rippled outwards, accompanied by an overwhelming flood of sequence particles.

Lu Yin threw another punch, but he was unable to hit Emperor Wu. Instead, Lu Yin’s fist struck a ripple of power. Heaven's Seal had formed a barrier from its ocean of sequence particles. It was an impenetrable wall, and it stopped Lu Yin’s punch dead.

Emperor Wu finally looked up. He clenched a fist, and the endless sequence particles condensed into his hand to form a beam of light. Only then did he throw a punch.

Lu Yin heard the crowd’s shouts of excitement, as well as someone warning him to retreat.

The warning was unnecessary, as Lu Yin would have avoided the attack regardless. Emperor Wu’s punch gave Lu Yin the same feeling that he had once experienced when facing True God. This was a fist that surpassed Lu Yin’s own strength.

The individuals throughout the three megaverses whom Lu Yin definitely knew surpassed his own physical might included the High Seraph and True God. At this moment, he added Emperor Wu to that list.

Even if he had only surpassed Lu Yin’s strength with the support of a sequence base, external power was still a form of power.

Emperor Wu’s fist grazed Lu Yin’s head as it shot past him, completely obliterating an entire region of the universe. The absolute darkness that spread out from the impact shocked everyone.

At that moment, no one dared to speak.

Everyone stared at the pure darkness that had nearly severed the universe in two, unable to comprehend just how such strength could exist.

At this moment, the question that the onlookers most wanted to know the answer to was just why had Emperor Wu delayed the battle. With the power that he gained from Heaven's Seal, he could have destroyed Boundless when the ship had entered the Primal Beastland, right?

The moment Emperor Wu had first obtained Heaven's Seal, he had almost never used the sequence base. Even during the battle when he had faced off against three other Seraphs on his own, he had fought solely by relying on his own strength and unmatched defenses. He had never resorted to using Heaven's Seal.

Emperor Wu’s pride prevented him from using the sequence base, as it was something forged from multiple past generations of beast-form Spirit Rebirths. Ultimately, it was someone else’s power.

However, when facing Lu Yin, he had no choice but to bring out that power. This was not only so that he could deal with Lu Yin, but also as a demonstration for the High Seraph.

Emperor Wu’s next battle would be with the High Seraph.

His goal was for the beast-form Spirit Rebirths to completely eclipse the human-form Spirit Rebirths, overturning the order of the Spirit Nidus. As for the Tianyuan Megaverse, those people were nothing more than transient visitors; in other words, they were a target.

The earth beneath Emperor Wu’s feet cracked as he retracted his hand. He regretted taking Heaven's Seal with him to the Consciousness Megaverse in the past, as the previous generation’s lord of the Primal Beastland would not have died at the source of the Fu River.

This was the precise location where the last supreme expert of the beast-form Spirit Rebirths and the last ruler of the Primal Beastland had fallen. That battle had utterly humiliated the beast-form Spirit Rebirths. Even at that time, Emperor Wu had been the one wielding Heaven's Seal, which had been given to him by the previous ruler of the Primal Beastland to ensure his safety while in the Consciousness Megaverse. If he had kept Heaven's Seal, there was no way the previous lord of the Primal Beastland would have been defeated so thoroughly.

Emperor Wu had delayed his battle with Lu Yin because his opponent was not only Lu Yin, but also the High Seraph.

Heaven's Seal was enough for Emperor Wu to overpower Lu Yin, while his recently mastered battle technique was intended for his match with the High Seraph.

After all, the one who had killed the previous lord of the Primal Beastland was none other than the current High Seraph.

People were only aware of that story as a legend, and over the years, the defeat of the beast-form Spirit Rebirth Seraph had been amplified. However, people had forgotten who that Seraph had faced. Emperor Wu had never forgotten, and he never would.

Far away, the darkness gradually pulled back.

The yellow lightning crackled across Emperor Wu’s body, power continuing to spread as he stared at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin was staring intently at a yellow, triangular gem that was on Emperor Wu’s body. “So, that’s the Heaven's Seal sequence base?”

“Can you endure this power?” Emperor Wu roared in an arrogant, utterly confident tone.

Lu Yin responded with admiration, “It absolutely lives up to being the second-ranked sequence base. You beast-form Spirit Rebirths have been wanting to surpass the human-form Spirit Rebirths for quite some time, haven’t you? An incredibly steep price must have been paid for you to obtain this sequence base.

“I will admit that I’ve lost in terms of brute strength, but that is not the only thing used in a fight.”

Emperor Wu clenched a fist. “When strength reaches a certain level, anything can be shattered!”

“Then go ahead and try.” A glow erupted from Lu Yin’s inner universe as one sourcebox array after another was released, all of them blasting at Emperor Wu.

Epoch Blade, Tomb of Mountains and Streams, and Codex 16 all rained down like a flood.

Emperor Wu was badly startled. He had never anticipated dealing with sourcebox arrays in such a manner. He had seen Su Shidao fight before, but that man had only ever shown his Epoch Blade.

Still, regardless of how many sourcebox arrays there might be, what could they accomplish?

Emperor Wu only needed to casually wave his hand to obliterate everything. All of the sourcebox arrays that had been released were instantly destroyed.
