Chapter 3595: More Fun
Chapter 3595: More Fun
Right as Emperor Wu was about to retaliate, the burning power of the Setting Sun emptied his mind. All that he could see was the blazing sunset as the comprehension technique struck him.
At the same time, Lu Yin raised a hand high and slammed it down upon Old Salamander with enough force to cause the ground to tremble. The sky switched places with the ground as Lu Yin used Flipping the Sky.
Old Salamander roared as his body was pressed against the ground of Lu Yin’s Dust World and violently smashed into the ground. The beast’s roar cut off midway, as it was completely blocked.
Lu Yin dropped down and stood upon his Dust World, staring down at Old Salamander in the ground beneath him. "If you don't want to talk, then I'll leave you wishing that you had never been born."
Old Salamander looked up as his severed claws rapidly regenerated. "I am the Five-Clawed Celestial Salamander."
Sharp claws sliced up through the ground, reaching for Lu Yin.
Behind Lu Yin, Emperor Wu, in a fit of rage, swung his serrated blade sideways, attacking once more.
Universe-level consciousness howled as the Skyshearer Millstone made a reappearance. Despite having time to prepare and already expecting Emperor Wu’s attack, Lu Yin’s Skyshearer Millstone still could not block the serrated blade, despite being much more defined than before.
Lu Yin had split his consciousness to release the Nine Heavens, but this meant that the consciousness he could use in combat was not at the Universe level. Naturally, Lu Yin could not block Emperor Wu's serrated blade with just his consciousness.
The serrated blade sliced through the Skyshearer Millstone, slashing across the ground and leaving a massive rent.
Emperor Wu tightened his grip on his weapon. His consciousness is nowhere near as strong as the rumors claim.
Yi Die and the rest of the Primal Beastland cultivators continuously retreated from the chaotic, three-way battle. They were terrified that their domain would not be able to withstand this fight and that it would collapse and shatter.
The Origin Progenitor stepped forward, leaving Boundless. It was time for him to take action. They needed to quickly capture Old Salamander. His identity was very important to the Tianyuan Megaverse.
Opposite the Origin Progenitor, Old Yu also appeared. He similarly intended to capture Old Salamander.
The ancient monster’s Spirit Rebirth beast form was utterly unique, and the fact that he had kept it hidden for so long guaranteed that there was some secret that he had concealed.
Each new powerful beast-form Spirit Rebirth was an improvement for the entire Spirit Nidus.
Countless eyes were fixed upon Old Salamander, whom Lu Yin had pinned underground in the Primal Beastland. What secrets was the old thing hiding?
Just as the Origin Progenitor was about to step forward, a figure appeared in the sky. The sight caused the Origin Progenitor’s eyes to narrow sharply. The High Seraph?
Far away, Old Yu’s expression also changed drastically. The High Seraph?
Down on the ground, in the middle of the chaotic three-way battle, As Lu Yin evaded the serrated blade, he also saw the High Seraph looking down from above. As expected, the High Seraph was drawn out. This is a problem.
"High Seraph?" Old Salamander blurted.
Emperor Wu then looked up. Why is he here?
Suddenly, the Origin Progenitor shouted, "Something's wrong! This is Dreamshade!"
Lu Yin instantly understood the situation. This was terrible. Meng Sang had shown up. Lu Yin quickly looked back down and saw that Old Salamander was being dragged through a portal. Is that... Qianmen Feidu?
Lu Yin quickly reached out, but he was too late.
Qianmen Feidu had not torn through the void in order to take Old Salamander, but rather used one of his own portals. His portals were quite amazing. When Lu Yin had last tried to kill Qianmen Feidu, he had only succeeded in destroying the man’s mouth.
Qianmen Feidu should be someone loyal to the Wisdom Domain, so Old Yu should be the one behind anything the man’s action. Given that, why was he working with Meng Sang? Meng Sang belonged to Yong Heng.
The Wisdom Domain, Qianmen Feidu, Meng Sang, and Yong Heng... could there be a connection between all of them? Lu Yin turned to stare at Old Yu in the distance.
By this time, Old Yu, Emperor Wu, and several others had also reacted, but they could no longer see Old Salamander. They had not even seen Qianmen Feidu’s actions.
Throughout the Primal Beastland and in the space surrounding the domain, the only ones who had seen the portal were Lu Yin and the Origin Progenitor.
Seeing the confusion in Old Yu’s eyes, Lu Yin’s brow furrowed. What was the connection? Was Qianmen Feidu still working with the Wisdom Domain, or had he started helping Yong Heng?
"Meng Sang, you’re seeking death!" Emperor Wu snarled as he shot out of the Primal Beastland, traveling in a specific direction. He refused to let Old Salamander escape.
Lu Yin did not give chase. The fact that Meng Sang was involved meant that Yong Heng was involved, and it was better to avoid him. If Emperor Wu did manage to catch up, he had Lu Yin’s sympathy.
It was possible that not even the High Seraph was capable of fully exposing Yong Heng’s abilities.
Meng Sang was another tricky existence. While he was certainly not one of the strongest of the Seven Seraphs in an outright fight, his ambush skills were second to none, and his ability to escape was without equal.
Even if Emperor Wu managed to find Meng Sang, it would be impossible to do anything to him.
The Primal Beastland grew quiet as rivers of blood flowed across the land.
All eyes fell upon Lu Yin.
He rose into the sky and looked around. The battle had completely shattered the Primal Beastland. Ba Liu and Yi Yao had been avenged, and Old Salamander had been exposed.
Lu Yin looked over at Old Yu, who was already staring at Lu Yin.
"Lord Lu, it's over," Old Yu said, referring to the affair with Yue Cheng.
Lu Yin continued to stare at Old Yu. "Why did you show up?"
Old Yu sighed. "I wanted to take Old Salamander. His beast-form Spirit Rebirth is quite valuable."
Lu Yin’s brow furrowed again. Take Old Salamander away? Just what is the connection between Qianmen Feidu, Meng Sang, and this old bastard?
Old Salamander was quite cunning, but so was Old Yu. The Spirit Nidus was a mysterious megaverse with many hidden secrets.
"Emperor Wu is chasing after Meng Sang. When do you plan to leave the Primal Beastland, Lord Lu?" Old Yu asked.
Yi Die, Jiu Weihu, and many others all looked at Lu Yin. If at all possible, they did not want to allow Boundless to leave. The battleship had thoroughly humiliated the Primal Beastland. Even if it had all been necessary to reveal Old Salamander’s hidden manipulations, if anyone other than Emperor Wu had been the one responsible for what had happened, the Primal Beastland would have attacked them without reservation.
At this moment, if the Primal Beastland failed to keep Boundless from leaving, they would be showing weakness.
Knowing this caused many cultivators throughout the Primal Beastland to bow their heads.
Both underground and in outer space, many powerful beast-form Spirit Rebirths stood in support of Emperor Wu. However, even if he was present, what could he do? Would he really fight Lu Yin at this point in time?
In a sense, leaving to chase after Meng Sang had given Emperor Wu a way out of the current situation. He did not fear Lu Yin, but this was not the right time for them to fight each other.
Lu Yin glanced down at the Primal Beastland, a flicker of killing intent appearing in his eyes. All of the cultivators he had marked and isolated for their involvement with Yue Cheng’s death exploded. Not even their bones remained behind.
Jiu Weihu and Yi Die exchanged glances before stepping forward. "Lord Lu, do you not intend to also chase after Old Salamander?"
Lu Yin looked at the two Grand Mountain Lords. "A fox and a butterfly?"
Jiu Weihu showed a hint of a smile. "Apologies for this embarrassment, Lord Lu."
Lu Yin just shrugged. "Your Primal Beastland and my Grandverse Manor are enemies, not allies. I’d love to destroy this place."
Yi Die’s brow furrowed, and his wariness spiked.
"However, with Emperor Wu gone, taking action against this place would be too unfair of me. After the battle at the Fu River’s source, my mood will decide whether or not the Primal Beastland will continue to exist afterwards." With that, Lu Yin vanished, having already returned to Boundless.
Yi Die looked up at Boundless. Seraph Lu was even more arrogant than Emperor Wu.
Even so, no one could argue with what he had said. There was no one aside from Emperor Wu who was capable of even standing up to Seraph Lu.
Slowly, Boundless sailed away. Before the ship left, Lu Yin left behind a message. "Tell Emperor Wu that I hope to have more fun when we fight at the Fu River’s source."
As the battleship slowly disappeared into the distance, many of the Primal Beastland’s cultivators let out sighs of relief. Finally, the vessel was gone.
In the past, the Primal Beastland had felt no pressure from the Grandverse Manor, not even after the Consciousness Domain was suppressed and the Phantom Reach was annihilated. However, at this moment, the Primal Beastland felt more pressure than any other domain. Boundless hid too many experts, and more than just two or three were powerful enough to stand against even Emperor Wu. Seeing Astral Anura and Wilderness God’s power had silenced the Primal Beastland.
After this day, the balance of power among the Spirit Nidus’s various organizations would be reshuffled. There was no longer any doubt that Boundless surpassed the Primal Beastland, which meant that it was second only to the Ascendant Hall.
The Gate of Laws might have a tremendous number of hidden ancient powerhouses, but those people were not part of the Gate of Laws. They were simply awaiting death.
Old Yu also left the Primal Beastland, returning to the Wisdom Domain along with Lu Yin.
Their agreement had not yet been fulfilled.
Boundless returned to the Hundred Grasses Domain on its own.
"Emperor Wu's strength doesn't seem to have put any pressure on you, Lord Lu," Old Yu remarked as the two men moved through outer space on their way to the Wisdom Domain.
Lu Yin responded indifferently, "There is pressure, but I still haven't seen the limits of Emperor Wu’s power. If he were to use his sequence base, his power won’t have a limit. He didn’t use his sequence base, Heaven's Seal, when fighting against Old Salamander either. That was because both of them are beast-form Spirit Rebirths, but things will be different when he’s facing me."
Old Yu was taken aback. "In that case, why did you still provoke Emperor Wu, Lord Lu?"
Lu Yin looked at Old Yu. "What do you think Emperor Wu is holding back?"
Old Yu’s expression remained calm. "I don’t understand the question."
Lu Yin chuckled. "It’s fine if you don't understand."
Old Yu smiled. "Speaking of which, I never expected Old Salamander to be the culprit behind everything. Who could have anticipated such a thing? However, Lord Lu, if you want to change plans, you should have at least informed me beforehand so that I could have been prepared."
"Prepared for what? To sabotage me?"
"Do you not trust me, Lord Lu?"
"Why should I trust you?"
Old Yu responded with a bitter smile, "When it comes to the overall interests of the three megaverses, you and I are on the same side, Lord Lu. Anytime intelligent beings interact, it always comes down to benefits. While you may not trust me, you can’t ignore the benefits."
Lu Yin's tone remained calm. "Why is Old Salamander so eager to take the title of Seraph? It’s clear that he was using that Man Kui and that Old Salamander wanted the title of Seraph for himself."
Old Yu’s eyes flashed. "It’s for the Day of Offering."
Lu Yin's expression grew somber. "You think so too?"
Old Yu replied, "That’s the only possible reason. If not for the Day of Offering, Old Salamander would have never acted so aggressively towards Emperor Wu. He laid plans to use the Grandverse Manor even before Emperor Wu returned, and he helped Emperor Slayer deliver his challenge letter. As soon as Emperor Wu postponed his battle with you, rumors spread, and you were even lured to the Primal Beastland. Old Salamander started acting too hastily, which is why you were able to expose him."
Lu Yin was confused. "What’s so special about the Day of Offering? Is it just that strange scene?"
"Perhaps."
"Have you seen it?"
Old Yu chuckled. "Given that I am not a Seraph, how could I have seen it?"
Lu Yin stared at Old Yu. "I see."
Old Yu grew serious. "When it comes to this, you should trust the High Seraph more, Lord Lu. In fact, you should have already noticed that, even if my Wisdom Domain had a Seraph, it wouldn’t mean much to the High Seraph. In that case, why is the High Seraph so determined to prevent my Wisdom Domain from producing a Seraph?"
"Because of the Day of Offering." Lu Yin had already thought of this.
Old Yu nodded. "The Day of Offering. That day is reserved for the High Seraph and the Seven Seraphs. Only the High Seraph is certain to see the strange sight. Of the Seven Seraphs, whoever manages to see that sight will become the next High Seraph. This is a rule that has been passed down in the Spirit Nidus since ancient times.
"Both the Old Man Under the Stars and the current High Seraph witnessed that strange scene, which is why the Old Man Under the Stars died. His options were to either become the High Seraph or die. There was no third option."
Lu Yin stared at Old Yu. "Does your Wisdom Domain really not have any records of what that strange scene is? Your domain is even older than the High Seraph."
Old Yu sighed. "Old Salamander has also lived for so long, and yet he has never seen that strange sight."
Lu Yin said, "Old Salamander could have fought to become a Seraph long ago. If he had wanted it, he would have taken it. Why wait until now? Why take the risk of scheming against Emperor Wu?"
Old Yu looked at Lu Yin. "This is another reason why I wanted to take Old Salamander back to my Wisdom Domain."
