Stand By Me Darling -
Chapter 76: No Tomorrow
Chapter 76: No Tomorrow
Arthur after his shower saw a bunch of messages from Jordan and he called him to get the details.
What he heard gave him a severe headache and he rubbed his temples staring at the mirror in the bathroom.
He really couldn’t understand how Cyrus handled all those with ease all those years. That guy... He must have been a genius.
The best Knight one would have the fortune to have!
But alas! That guy is no more.
It seemed like two of the notorious mercenary organisations have sent three best people to this city. They have hidden pretty well and it seemed like they are planning something for the recent future.
Arthur have worked with them previously and once they took a job after getting the payments, they won’t back down ever. But he wondered for whom they are here. No sane individual will hire two organisations for the same mark. So they might be here for someone else...?
One of those organisations was hired by the oil mogul while the other one was kept secret. Arthur really couldn’t recall anyone powerful enough to make an anonymous request to the organisations.
And from the investigations Jordan made, those bodyguards around her are from the Lionheart Security Firm.
He couldn’t figure out what’s happening anymore. He tried to contact the Lockhart family, but they refused to accept his calls. So he informed Sebastian to contact the Lockhart family and find out what’s their current deal with Talia.
The Brunton family had fulfilled their part of their compensation, ending the feud between the Sinclair and Brunton families with marriage. They have no right over her anymore. Its better for them to know their place.
But still he couldn’t shake off the bad feeling in his heart. His headache seemed to intensify as he thought more about everything and he took some painkillers for the headache.
Thankfully, he has a safeguard for all situations. No one can touch even the tip of her hair.
If they are here for him... He just have to lure them out before he leaves here tomorrow. In no way can he implicate her.
After making all the arrangements he was surprised that an hour has passed already.
He hurried back to the bedroom and smiled seeing Talia asleep leaning on the headboard. Her hair had dried and was flowing freely on her shoulders and she was still wearing the bathrobe and was covering her legs with the duvet.
’Was she waiting for me?’
His smile vanished. In his own thoughts he actually forgot that she was waiting for him.
It wasn’t that he forgot her, it was more like he was still finding it all dream-like. She is always in his thoughts but there was always a great distance between them and suddenly now... There seems to be no distance between them at all!
He really couldn’t get used to it.
He placed a kiss on her forehead. She was warm and he could actually feel her.
This is not all a dream,he thought. She is actually waiting for him in the bed! It used to be his fantasy for so many years and now it became a reality making him exhilarated.
She seemed to be deeply asleep and so he picked her up to make her lie comfortably in the bed. She cried a lot. She should have been too tired.
As he rested her head comfortably on the pillow, he felt her hands wrapping around his waist and her lips kissed his chin, "Fred..." her voice was husky probably because she was asleep as she hissed and proceeded to kiss him randomly to try and find his lips.
"You’re back... Let’s..."
She pressed her lips firmly on his lips as she pulled him closer and Arthur could see she still being unable to open her eyes.
"Sleep, if you’re tired," Arthur said trying to hold back the fire burning in his abdomen. He didn’t want to act beastly towards her once more.
She is his forever and they have all the time in the world left for them.
"No, I want you to..."
She hissed and tired to wrap her legs around his waist but she could not move freely and so he lied beside her to make it easy for her.
She seemed to be only semi conscious and she acted drunk. But it seemed like the little consciousness left in her, made her want to sleep with him.
"Fred..." she turned and putting her leg over his waist, kissed him once more. She looked more like a puppy trying to find milk rather than a horny woman as she really couldn’t open her eyes.
"Let’s do it like we have no tomorrow..."
Her short incessant kisses trailed all over his face, making Arthur really hard and his rationale got washed away by the lust she brought out.
What is she saying? Does she understand what she means?
In front of her, he became a simple man who cannot find words to express his feelings but wanted to use his actions!
"Iris..."
He got on top of her and pressing his hand at the top of her head kissed her deeply. His other hand had undid her robe at ease as if he had done it a million times before, exposing her soft chest.
Seeing her struggling to breath, he moved his kisses to her ears and was pleased to hear the little moans escaping her cherry lips.
He could feel her chest rising and sinking with each breath she took and could feel her heart beating strongly as her body temperature rose.
But then he suddenly stopped himself.
"Iris... That... Are you okay?" he asked pausing everything he was doing.
" What?"
She opened her eyes slightly and shut them back immediately furrowing her brows.
Arthur could feel she was confused and he grunted slightly as her hands went inside his boxers, rubbing his manhood.
" There was blood on the sheets. Are you fine to do it?"
Arthur knew he couldn’t hold back anymore and asked when he still had some rationality left.
"What blood?" Talia asked and it seemed like she fell asleep once more.
"Iris..." Arthur now felt a lot empty now that she actually slept midway.
"Wake up..." he kissed her neck and felt her jerking awake holding his willy a bit tighter.
" Sleep I did not..." she said and Arthur could not help but chuckle hearing her talking like Yoda.
This girl is too tired!
Her eyelids closed once again as her grip on him loosened too. And within seconds. Arthur could see her deeply asleep.
’Poor girl! Just sleep! Ill get you back soon, okay?’
He kissed her forehead, fixed her robes and pulled the duvet over her to cover her.
Hugging her he closed his eyes.
"Blood... Just broke my... Hymn.."
She mumbled as she hugged him back and Arthur felt like a thousand Watts of electricity pass through him as he opened his eyes. He couldn’t understand what she said entirely and all he could hear was ’broke’.
’I broke something? That’s why she bled?’
" I’m sorry... I’m sorry..." he mumbled as he hugged her and he could see her smile in his embrace. Her really couldn’t understand anything.
---
In the morning when Talia woke up, it was already half past eight and she hurriedly got up from the bed and the first thing she did was look for Arthur but he wasn’t anywhere.
She felt her heart skip a beat and ran to her closet and only when she saw his clothes still there, she signed in relief. It seemed like he went out wearing a suit and she figured out it might be for some meeting and went to the bathroom and freshened up.
She smiled seeing the bouquet of white roses he previously gave her kept in a vase on the dining table. It was still looking good. She wanted to keep it as it is for a long time.
She saw a handwritten note below the vase. It was Arthur’s handwriting and she was happy seeing the little smiley drawn on the side.
’Iris, Breakfast inside the microwave and stay inside until I return. Love you!’
There was even a little heart drawn in the place of the dot in ’i’ of the Iris he wrote. Talia placed the note over her heart and she couldn’t control her smile.
But then she remembered about her appointment with Rebecca and she got ready after finishing her breakfast.
’Sorry Fred, I promised Rebecca that I’d go shopping with her. I’ll return as soon as possible.’
She wrote in another post it note and even drew a sad smiley by the side.
Then she remembered the card she took from him and placed it on the table.
’Don’t worry, I won’t spend your money’
She added in the note with a couple of hearts and patted her cheeks that were burning red. She never was this cheeky before. It felt odd to her, but she liked it.
As she left in a hurry as she picked up her purse from the kitchen counter, she accidentally pushed the salt jar and the jar broke spilling the salt.
"Eh! Isn’t this considered bad luck?’
Blaming Arthur for not replacing the salt jar to where it is supposed to be, she cleaned the kitchen amidst the calls from Rebecca to hurry.
