Stand By Me Darling -
Chapter 468: Birth Of The Twins
Chapter 468: Birth Of The Twins
There wasn’t a lot of blood, but seeing the blood made Talia giddy.
"Iris..."
Arthur held her as she stumbled. Lifting her up, he walked through the hallways towards the exit prepared for them.
Since she left suddenly, some murmurs were happening as everyone knew something bad has happened.
"Fred, the reporters..." Talia said gripping his lapel and Arthur let out a sigh.
"Raphael..." Arthur called her loyal assistant who was stunned to the max. He couldn’t even hear him.
"Raphael!" He paused and Ralph stopped with him. "She needs her privacy. Make sure no picture of hers gets leaked! She is counting on you. You know what to do, right?" He asked once more and saw clarity returning to his eyes.
"Yes, sir! I will make sure my queen is protected!" he nodded and walked to the front.
Arthur was shaking inside. His mind was filled with an indescribable fear. Past memories of them losing their baby returned. He cannot lose another two of their babies.
But my Iris is bleeding! What if her life is in danger?
He worried more for her. They have talked about it before. By they he means she. She talked about it before. She told him he should save the babies at all costs. She even wanted to make a written statement, but he stopped her.
She is more important!
If it comes to saving her, he will go to any extreme. Iris’ life is the priority and he will save her even if it means letting go of their babies.
I can have more babies with her, but I cannot find another one like her
They reached the car and he placed her at the backseat. She was perspiring and felt cold and he wanted to hug her to warm her up. But he feared it it would hurt her.
"Sir Robert, go as fast as you can," Arthur told Mr. Ed. He could see the worry in Mr. Ed’s eyes too. He kept on mumbling ’It’s too soon’ and then he started saying some prayers.
Raphael had done a good job. He had directed the reporters to another exit by sending her security personnel to clear that way. But she is taken in the opposite direction and the way was clear since they redirected the traffic for her.
The car flew on the road, and he held her cheek. "Does it hurt a lot, my love?" he asked. She looked pale.
"No, I’ll be fine, Fred. Don’t worry." She caressed his hair. The sunlight entered through the window and his hair shone in a bright shade. His green eyes were filled with worry but he tried his best not to show it to her. That made her heart sad.
"Did you throw your back again?" she tried to joke around. She wanted to cry thinking how much he is enduring to make sure she is comforted.
"You’re not heavy," he smiled at her. He placed his hand on her belly and it was hard as a rock. He knew it means the contractions are happening and he knew she is in pain.
Why is she trying to comfort me when she is the one hurting?
"How am I-" Talia paused as she felt a wave of pain. She did the breathing exercises she was taught. And it went away pretty quickly. "How am I not heavy? I gained almost twenty pounds already," she smiled.
"Yes, you’ve gotten a lot prettier," he wiped her sweat with his handkerchief. All his handkerchiefs now have her embroidery and he wanted to hug her and beg her not to leave him.
"Fred, save the babies, alright. I’ll definitely not die. I want to see our babies grow up. I want to have more babies..."
Whenever she didn’t have a contraction she spoke whatever came to her mind. She was scared. But she knew she will get through this. She wanted to get through this.
They reached the hospital and they brought her in. The doctor checked her and said that she is in labour and she has a mild placental abruption.
She was immediately kept under observation and the babies were doing fine. The doctor suggested a cesarean section to deliver the babies to not cause distress to the mother, but Talia was scared to put her under anesthetics and get cut.
Somehow information traveled fast and there were already people gathering outside the hospital to check on their Princess. Arthur in his stress found them a nuisance, but Sir Robert calmed him down.
Talia’s situation got worse and the doctor induced labour.
"Fred! Take me home. I don’t want to be here! They are trying to kill me!"
Talia screamed holding his hand. It hurt a lot and she didn’t want to be in pain. She wanted to cuss, but she held back.
Arthur thought his finger would break by the force she was holding his hand. Had he known her grip is strong, he would have given her his right hand. The ring was pressing his finger and it hurt a lot.
But she is hurting more, isn’t she?
Her labour lasted for four hours and both the babies were delivered of her safely. Since the babies were only thirty weeks gestation, they were kept in the NICU for further treatement immediately after cleaning up.
Talia only held them for a while and she forgot all about her pain seeing those two pink little things.
"Look at these ginger balls, Fred... I made them. They came out of me... How did I make these adorable things..."
She mumbled holding the babies and started crying.
I helped you make them – he wanted to say, but his throat closed seeing her.
Arthur saw her with her hair sticking on her face, crying. Till now she was in great pain and she should be in pain still. But seeing the babies...
Aww... they are cute.
"They are so small and soft...." he placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Here, hold them, Fred. I made them and they came out looking like you. Why do both of them look like you? They look different but they look like you," she yawned.
She was not sad looking at her babies. But a little disappointed.
Arthur on the other hand found his babies so delicate, he feared to hold them. They looked just like her for him. Especially his son. His beautiful blue eyes as he blinked at him...
His daughter was busy crying. She had blue eyes too but everyone said the eye colour change as they grow up.
He wished both his children gets her beautiful blue eyes.
He watched their babies getting breastfed and his Iris was glowing. It made him feel weird. He had two more little things that will vie for her affection.
They gave her some painkillers under the doctor’s advice and after what she went through, she must be tired.
"Show them to everyone, Fred. Where’s grandpa, Gigima and papa?" she asked and the doctor told her that her babies must be kept in a sterile environment for their safety.
"Are they not fine?" she got worried and Arthur sat beside her and explained everything the doctor said and only then she was relieved.
They shifted her to a private room close to the NICU.
"Announce their birth, Fred," Talia asked Arthur. She knew people will be waiting for the announcement.
Since they already knew the genders of the babies, they chose the names already. They tried to include the names of their elders from both families.
When she last met Arthur’s father, he wanted their daughter to be given the name "Rose-Marie". He told them about Arthur’s big sister and Talia was pleased that her father-in-law is giving such an intimate name for their child.
And so the announcement of HRH Prince Albert George Robert Sinclair-Brunton and HRH Princess Anthea Rose-Marie Henrietta Sinclair-Brunton were announced by the Palace leading to the celebration in two countries.
Well-wishes poured in from all over the world and everyone was happy for the Princess Royal of Rosandale.
