The evening breeze gently ruffled Arthur’s fringes that had dropped on his forehead and his eyes were on his phone screen as he was texting someone.

Sophia, sitting elegantly on the chair wearing his favourite blue chiffon dress, watched him enthusiastically. Its not easy for her to get such a chance.

Sitting in the is gazebo with the flowing curtains giving a mesmerising effect, she rolled the bunch of hair she let loose beside her ear with her fingers, biting her lips and with a prideful smile.

Last night, she was really worried after seeing the photographs of him with Talia and she lost her mind for a moment.

She picked up the water glass and drank some water that cooled her down.

Thankfully Jordan was honest with her and told the truth that Talia and Arthur are in the same hotel, but in separate rooms. And even the paps photographed them having breakfast in the restaurant. The pictures showed no intimacy between them.

Sophia passed time talking to herself for a while, but then she felt insulted that Arthur is concentrating on his phone and not even looking at her.

Arthur who was checking with Jordan about the arrival timings of the Clairmont family, furrowed his brows hearing that voice that always made him feel like he was listening to nails scratching on blackboard.

" Hmm, I wanted to have dinner with your family because there was something important I needed to discuss with them." Arthur answered not taking away his focus away from his phone. He didn’t want to look at her face. He always feels irked to be near her since she wears the perfume his Iris used to wear.

Why for goodness sake did she think that he’d like her since she wears the same perfume? He didn’t fall for Iris for the perfume she wears!

The corners of Sophia’s lips twitched seeing Arthur not even looking at her. Her mood got more spoilt. She wanted to scream, but she held herself back since she was in a public place and there are even paparazzi around.

"There is a garden in this restaurant filled with many early blooming flowers. I heard there is a small lake and wooden bridge.. So romantic... Shall we take a walk? It would-"

"No!" Arthur shut her off immediately. There was silence between them for a long time. Sophia saw another couple at a distance sitting close to each other, giggling and whispering in each others ears and she felt jealous.

Why isn’t there no intimacy between them? They are going to get married!

"Arthur..." she called and waited for him to look at her but since he didn’t, she continued, " We have been together for long... We are even going to get married... Why haven’t we even kissed yet?" she asked with a gulp. Her entire face has gone red out of embarrassment. She felt like she’s a beggar except she was begging for a kiss, but still she felt the need to ask him that. Isn’t that something normal between a couple?

She had already forgotten the warnings Arthur gave her previously since she thought he’d propose to her today.

The silence that followed only made her feel more embarrassed. She felt like she was stripped naked in the middle of a hallway as she felt cold allover and she shivered.

" We’ll talk about that soon," Arthur said that after taking his time. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

Is this woman asking him for a kiss? Who asks for a kiss?

He bowed his head and in his memory, he went back to that attic where he spent a lot of time in his high school years.

Iris did... Iris asked for a kiss.

He smiled subconsciously as he remembered his first kiss. Slowly his mind went to the faces his Iris made last night.

He shook his head vigorously to come out of his thoughts. He didn’t want to be grinning stupidly in public.

"What is so interesting in there? Let me see," Sophia who lost her patience, stood up with a slight giggle and tried to grab his phone casually.

Arthur realising a shadow rising to his face, held his phone with an iron grip. His face stiffened as he clenched his jaws.

With one of his eyebrows raised, he glared at her. Sophia felt a chill passing through her spine seeing that enraged look of Arthur.

"Sorry," she sat back chuckling awkwardly.

A family arrived at the gazebo next to them and one of the little children looked at her with a smile. Sophia could only growl as she was mocked by a little child. She felt extremely humiliated by the way he treated her in public. She fisted her hands to stop herself from showing her disappointment in public. That little child who liked to smile at everyone regardless of he knows them or not, felt strange seeing that big woman glaring at him. He hid behind his mother as he was scared to look at that woman sitting in the next table to them.

"I found me a pet bird to raise. Do you want to see a picture?" Sophia smiled again once more trying to get Arthur’s attention.

Seeing him still not looking at her, she shifted her seat and sat near him and shoved her phone in his face.

Arthur who was trying to send some work related emails let out a sigh. He wanted to strangle that squeaking throat so it won’t make a sound again. Only then she’d be silent.

"Mmm" Arthur hummed to get her off his personal space. He needed to bear with it just for today. But she didn’t leave his side and started talking more.

"Isn’t she pretty? Well, I don’t know if she’s a girl or boy... But I named her Bella. Isn’t that cute? She was in the branch near my window... Ah! The noise her mother made when a servant got her for me... It was so irritating. Its not like she was her only child. There were two more babies... "

But seeing that look of despise on Arthur’s face, she didn’t understand what offset his mood and her smile vanished.

As if that was not enough, she saw her father, mother and brother walking towards the table and gritted her teeth.

She asked them not to come! Why are they here?

Seeing the awkward expression on her mother’s face and Jordan walking behind them, Sophia could guess that it was Arthur who forced them to come here.. Somehow, she started to feel nervous.

The water glass Sophia was holding fell on the ground and shattered to pieces.

"Are you f*cking kidding me? Dad... What is going on?". It was Sophia’s brother who stood up banging the table.

"Why? You cannot abandon our daughter like that," Sophia’s mother who was stunned to silence for some moments, said after she got pinched hard by her daughter.
