SSS-Tier Extraction: From Outcast to Overgod!
Chapter 56: Provisional Governor

Chapter 56: Provisional Governor

The combined rage of three factions surged towards Ryan like a tidal wave. Energy bolts sizzled through the warped air, power axes hummed with killing intent, and the floor shook with the thundering footsteps of charging warriors.

They were throwing everything they had at him, a final, desperate gamble to stop him from claiming the ultimate prize.

But they were too late.

Ryan, now at Level 9 and directly linked to the god Weaver, felt an incredible sense of power and clarity. The machine wasn’t just a machine anymore; it was an extension of his own will.

He could feel the energy flowing through every conduit in the Core Chamber as if it were his own circulatory system.

"You want a storm?" he said to the empty room, a grim smile on his face. "I’ll give you a storm."

He didn’t move from the console. He didn’t need to. He placed his hands flat on its surface and pushed his will into the Weaver. In response, the massive machine hummed, and the chaotic energy of the Resonance Cascade, which had been washing over the room, suddenly coalesced around him. He didn’t stop the Cascade; he focused it.

From the console, he projected a localized "Dampening Field." It wasn’t a wall or a shield. It was a bubble of pure, enforced calm. The shimmering, distorting energy of the Cascade in his immediate vicinity was instantly quelled, creating a small island of stability in the middle of the raging temporal sea.

Inside his bubble, the air was still, the light was clear, and he could think perfectly. Outside the bubble, the chaos continued to rage, hampering his enemies.

At that exact moment, the god Warden’s voice boomed through the chamber, and indeed, across the entire Sector CommNet.

"Ryan Stone of Genesis Outpost #7 has successfully initiated the Weaver Control Protocol. Countdown to Sector Gamma Provisional Governorship: 10 minutes and 0 seconds."

The timer appeared in everyone’s vision again, but this time, it was counting down from ten minutes. A finish line had been established. All Ryan had to do was survive for ten minutes.

The remaining factions stared, stunned for a second, then their fury doubled. A countdown meant they still had a chance. They renewed their assault with even greater desperation.

Back in the Blue Falcons’ CommNet, the message caused an explosion of pure joy.

"A COUNTDOWN! HE’S DOING IT!"

"TEN MINUTES! HOLD ON, RYAN!"

"Our 10% NP gain boost is about to get a whole lot better if he pulls this off! GO RYAN!"

They were no longer just worried onlookers; they were fans at the biggest championship game in the world, and their team was on the verge of victory.

In the Core Chamber, Ryan felt another surge of information from the Weaver as his control solidified. A new message appeared in his mind: "Defensive Subroutines Activated. User Granted Temporary Access to Labyrinth Environmental Controls."

Beams of soft, golden light descended from the Weaver, infusing him. He didn’t get any direct stat bonuses, but he felt his existing talents, especially those related to energy and Precursor technology, like Energy Siphon and his Weaver’s Gauntlet become stronger, more efficient, as if they had been supercharged.

A new cache, shimmering with an intense, golden light, materialized out of thin air next to the console. A "Prime Control Cache." He’d have to open it later.

The Iron Wolves were the first to reach his bubble of calm. Their leader, Viktor "Ironjaw" Rostova, was a mountain of muscle and rage. He roared, his massive power axe held high, and charged forward, aiming to cleave both Ryan and the console in two.

Ryan watched him come. He didn’t even raise his knife. With his newfound control over the Labyrinth’s environment, he simply tapped a command into the console.

The floor in front of Viktor suddenly slid into the wall with a low groan, revealing a deep, dark hole in his path.

Half of the charging Iron Wolf squad, unable to stop their momentum, yelped in surprise as they ran straight into the newly opened pit, their war cries turning into cries of alarm as they tumbled into the darkness.

Viktor "Ironjaw," with incredible reflexes, managed to skid to a halt right at the edge of the chasm, his eyes wide with shock and fury. He had been tricked.

"Clever little bird," Viktor snarled, and he prepared to leap across the gap.

Ryan wasn’t done. He focused on Viktor’s humming power axe. He activated his Energy Siphon, now boosted by the Weaver’s power. A thick, black tendril of energy latched onto the head of the axe.

Viktor felt the power drain from his weapon instantly. The angry hum of the power axe died down to a pathetic sputter. It was now just a big, heavy, useless piece of metal.

Viktor stared at his powerless weapon in disbelief. That moment of confusion was all Ryan needed. He used his Chrono-Manipulation to cast "Haste" on himself and shot across the chasm like a bullet.

He met Viktor in a short, brutal, and utterly one-sided exchange. Viktor was strong, but without his powered-up weapon, and against a Level 9 opponent moving with supernatural speed, he stood no chance.

Ryan disarmed him with a precise strike and ended the fight with a quick, merciful thrust.

Viktor "Ironjaw" Rostova, the fearsome leader of the Iron Wolves, dissolved into a shower of god Points.

"+1200 god Points!" the system chimed. A new, large cache, a "Major Berserker Cache," dropped where he had stood.

Ryan stood over the chasm, his knife clean, the mighty leader of the Iron Wolves defeated. The remaining members of the other factions, who had been preparing their own assault, stopped dead in their tracks.

They had just witnessed Ryan take out one of their strongest leaders without even looking like he was trying. He hadn’t just defeated him; he had used the room itself as a weapon.

The countdown timer continued its relentless march. 9 minutes and 15 seconds remaining. The other factions looked at Ryan, then at the chasm, then back at Ryan.

The fight for Sector Gamma was far from over, but the balance of power had just shifted dramatically.
