Chapter 83: Ainsworth’s POV As The Dark Hand Behind The Scenes

A quarter of an hour ago, Ainsworth was watching the raid of the 52 High Priests against the Noctyra Corporation.

Since he had nothing to do, he believed it was better to watch over his subordinates, especially when they were undertaking such a crucial mission. He wanted to ensure that nothing went wrong and that there wouldn’t be any unforeseen variables.

After all, his Eleutheron Eclipse Team’s Otherworld Mission was at Unknown Difficulty so anything could happen. Even if it wouldn’t, he had to be perfectly ready, ensuring that he had countermeasures if an unforeseen variable were to occur.

’I hope everything goes well. The fourth Main Mission only seems easy due to my establishment of the Church of Evolution and my power level nearing the world limit.’

’But if it was other awakeners, they would likely be able to complete it if they were to risk their lives infiltrating the Noctyra Corporation.’

’I had already used an improved version of my divination superpower using my Ultimate Freedom skill and from what I calculated, there are four Evolver Kings in the Noctyra Corporation.’

’My High Priests could easily defeat them but just in case, I’ll watch over them and be prepared to send in support at any time.’

While he was staying in the Basilica of Transcendence, Ainsworth had already prepared his skill set of space-based superpowers to teleport the rest of his High Priests and Priests if the 52 High Priests raiding Noctyra Corporation needed reinforcements.

With those preparations ready, Ainsworth continued watching the experience of the 52 High Priests via the Hive Mind.

Since he had the highest authority within the Hive Mind, he could easily view the memories or even the live memory of each of his believer’s perspectives as well as their thoughts.

Using his Hive Mind, he viewed their perspective like watching countless live streamers but from their first-person viewpoint.

With his set of mind-based superpowers, Ainsworth wasn’t overwhelmed from watching 52 people’s first-person perspective at once. It might not be easy to digest a lot of information at once, but it also wasn’t that difficult.

Watching his High Priests’ every move, he saw them teleport and arrive at the Noctyra Corporation. What followed was their battle against the Noctyra Corporation’s 4 Evolver Kings.

He didn’t inform them about his divination since he wanted them to be independent and not rely on him for everything. Of course, that didn’t mean he couldn’t guide them but only when he had time.

However, in this case, his believers weren’t in any harm and they easily took care of the 4 Evolver Kings so he didn’t see any point in informing them about it.

While he was watching them, Ainsworth saw High Priest Arkan hack the Noctyra Corporation’s servers and databases, obtaining all their valuable research data and project files.

Since High Priest Arkan had hacked them using his mind and even directly uploaded it to his mind, Ainsworth could also access what he obtained by using his Hive Mind. With the use of it, he could even read and access Arkan’s memories.

Just as he was about to continue watching the rest of the High Priests, he received a mental message request from Arkan.

After accepting it, Ainsworth heard Arkan’s voice in his mind, ’Lord God, I have obtained all of the research data of Noctyra Corporation. Do you want me to upload it to your personal archive in the Hive Mind?’

Receiving Arkan’s request, Ainsworth nodded and replied, ’You have my permission. After I view all of these, I’ll privately share it with the rest of the High Priests and leave the decision-making on its disclosure to you and them.’

’Yes, Lord God!’

After his short conversation with Arkan, Ainsworth noticed that memory files were uploaded to his personal archive in the Hive Mind.

After he had become stronger, the Hive Mind became much more versatile. He could even create something akin to cloud storage within the Hive Mind and even grant authority access to each of his believers depending on their rank and power within the Church of Evolution.

Although all of his believers were absolutely loyal to him, the hierarchy he made for the Church of Evolution was so that believers would be able to know things that they could solve within their current power.

Ignorance was a bliss and so, knowing too much would only lead to trouble. At least, it would be far more efficient if he only revealed the research data to the High Priests and the research team within the Church of Evolution rather than all members.

After dealing with the matters regarding the Noctyra Corporation’s research data, Ainsworth continued watching them.

Then, he saw Dr. Elias Grimhart from one of the High Priests’ perspectives.

’That scientist should be the main mission 4’s target. As long as they can subdue him and bring him back to the Church of Evolution, it should be considered as fulfilling the fourth main mission.’

With that thought in mind, Ainsworth continued watching as he saw them cuff Dr. Elias Grimhart which brought a smile to his face.

However, when they were about to leave, Ainsworth noticed that six figures suddenly appeared and one of them had detonated paper tags to cause an explosion.

’That explosion seemed to be a distraction to let the High Priests attract their attention towards it and thereby, slightly divide their numbers temporarily.’

’Unfortunately for them, the Church of Evolution is the first in doing this raiding business and I will not let them snatch what we have already plundered.’

Informing his High Priests that the explosion was merely a distraction, Ainsworth continued scrutinizing those six figures who suddenly appeared.

Noticing that their outfits were quite weird as they seemed to come from different eras and cultures, he thought of something and when he did, he couldn’t help but feel that he might be on to something.

’Damn! If, and I mean if, my guess is correct, shouldn’t they our Awakener’s business rivals?’

’Now I wonder, are they from the Main God Space, Reincarnation Paradise, Abyss Paradise, or from another faction similar to those?’

As someone who had used divination on the Zombie Apocalypse World to obtain more information about it, he was certain that such strange individuals did not exist before.

In most cases, as business rivals, the Awakeners were hostile to the Main God Space’s challengers, Reincarnation Paradise’s reincarnators, and Abyss Paradise’s outsiders.

No matter what their motives were, all their missions were based on plundering world origin just like what Awakeners would do in Otherworld Missions.

Of course, Ainsworth knew that there were missions other than those as not only them, Earth wasn’t also that rigid to just prioritize world origin but for now, such mission types weren’t within his consideration.

’The sudden appearance of these six figures is very suspicious and out of all places, they even arrived at the Noctyra Corporation. There are a lot of places on Terra where they could have arrived but they chose this place so it’s either a coincidence, or they are also after something within the Noctyra Corporation.’

When Ainsworth thought about that, he remembered Main Mission 4’s content which was to protect Dr. Elias Grimhart.

’I could be overthinking it, but if we thought about it from this perspective, Main Mission 4 requires me to either kill him or protect him. The former is to silence him and as for the latter, something only needs to be protected if it’s in danger.’

’From what I had seen, Dr. Elias Grimhart seems to be doing fine within the Noctyra Corporation. At least when the High Priests invaded Noctyra Corporation, they didn’t see Grimhart being abused.’

’So, it’s either he will be harmed by someone within the Noctyra Corporation due to an internal conflict within the corporation in the future, or he will be harmed by someone other than my otherworld team and the Noctyra Corporation.’

’In other words, if I’m not mistaken, those six invaders’ goal is the same as mine which is to get Grimhart.’

After making an educated guess of what those six invaders were up to, Ainsworth contacted his trusted High Priest Ken Rogers to prepare the reinforcements on his command.

He also informed the rest of the High Priests within the Church of Evolution but he kept the 52 High Priests in the dark about it.

To deceive your enemies, deceive your allies.

In this case, even if he had reinforcements, he had to make sure even the 52 High Priests who were going to receive those reinforcements didn’t know about them.

And in doing so, no matter how perceptive and cunning those six invaders were, they wouldn’t be able to guess anything from the 52 High Priests since even they are unaware and ignorant of it.

So while the 52 High Priests didn’t know about it, the entire Church of Evolution’s powerhouses were already ready to teleport towards Noctyra Corporation at Ainsworth’s command.

With that preparation ready, Ainsworth continued observing the High Priests’ confrontation with the six invaders.

When those six invaders showed off ninja techniques, aura, and other power systems that were foreign to the Zombie Apocalypse World, Ainsworth was now certain of his guess.

’As expected, they are indeed my business rivals.’

’Now, the next problem is how to deal with them.’
