SSS Class Awakening: Start With A God-Level Choice System
Chapter 78: Main Mission 4 Is Revealed!

Chapter 78: Main Mission 4 Is Revealed!

Ainsworth knew that God-Level Pathogen and God-Level Cure were all powerful in their own right. It only depended on who used them and how they were used.

In his case, he felt that he could use the God-Level Pathogen talent better than God-Level Cure so he chose Choice 1.

After time had resumed, Ainsworth pressed the [Yes] button and accepted the side mission.

-Ding!

[Eleutheron Eclipse has accepted the Side Mission: Road To Zombie Overlord (SSS+)]

After Ainsworth accepted the side mission, he received the Choice 1 reward, so he immediately used it, obtaining the God-Level Pathogen talent.

Wanting to test out the abilities of his God-Level Pathogen talent, Ainsworth transformed into the father zombie virus, causing his entire body to disappear from the naked eye.

In reality, Ainsworth didn’t disappear nor became invisible. Instead, he transformed into countless viruses and he could even control his entire cluster of father zombie viruses to infect evolvers via airborne transmission.

Experiencing the weird sensation of turning into a microscopic virus, Ainsworth transformed back to his true form and muttered, "In my virus form, I could easily escape from my pursuers as they wouldn’t be able to kill me unless they destroy almost all of the viruses I transformed into."

"I could transform into any pathogen and viruses are one of the smallest pathogens, smaller than even bacteria. Since I specialized in viruses and I even used it to assimilate others into my Hive Mind, I can transform into the father zombie virus and easily prevent others from killing me."

"Unless my enemy could hit targets regardless of size, it would be difficult for them to eradicate me especially when I can still use my skills like Phantom Evasion and Unremarkable Presence to further improve my evasion and concealment."

Of course, there were other applications of God-Level Pathogen and it wasn’t just limited to transforming into pathogens like viruses. However, they were either too difficult to perform with his current power level, or were powerful and could be done, but were too overkill.

Knowing that his power and means to ensure his safety had increased, Ainsworth became reassured that he wouldn’t die suddenly in the Otherworld.

Although he has the SSS-rank Abandon Mission Card given to him by Elyndra, he could only use it as a last resort since deserting his two bros was something that he didn’t want to do unless he was left with no choice but to do so.

After testing his God-Level Pathogen talent, Ainsworth remembered that tomorrow, Main Mission 4’s objective will be revealed.

’I’ve already informed Rian and Dante that I’d be the one dealing with the side missions and main missions while they’d only focus on training themselves. With their current strength, even with the D+ Stat Crystals boosting their stats to D+ grade, they could only be invincible among Zombie Kings and Evolver Kings but not against Zombie Emperors and Evolver Emperors.’

’It’s far better if I let them train in this first Otherworld Mission so that in the next, they’d be more prepared.’

With that thought in mind, Ainsworth decided that instead of sleeping to pass the time, he would assist the Church of Evolution High Priests in converting more believers to the Church of Evolution.

There were still two side missions that his team hadn’t completed and he needed to let the Church of Evolution become the highest authority within each country in Terra to dominate the Zombie Apocalypse World.

With that plan in mind, Ainsworth left his private floor and commanded his High Priests via the Hive Mind to expend more resources on expansion.

...

After a day had passed, the Church of Evolution religion became more prominent as it finally reached the 100 million believers milestone and even surpassed it.

The Church of Evolution currently has 120 million believers.

The Zombie Apocalypse World has a population of 7 billion but since some of those population had turned into zombies and were killed, the population in the world was decreasing day by day.

According to Ainsworth’s estimation, just reaching a believer count of 1 billion was more than enough to dominate the entire world and keep humanity’s civilization.

In order to farm zombies and prevent either humans or zombies from going extinct, Ainsworth had already planned to separate their living areas.

He planned to let the Church of Evolution keep most of the continents while they would exile the rest of the zombies to one or two continents and let them live there for the rest of their lives.

In that way, the zombies would only conflict with each other. The only problem was that some zombies might evolve and become a Zombie Overlord and travel back to the human continents but in that case, the High Priests would be prepared to intercept and kill them.

With the enormous believer count of the Church of Evolution, the believer conversion rate was even faster. After all, the weakest believers were all Normal-rank Evolvers and they alone could convert those humans who weren’t even Evolvers into believers.

If there were evolvers who wanted to resist being converted, the Church of Evolution believers could just ask for reinforcement from their higher-ups via the Hive Mind.

With that in mind, Ainsworth let the Church of Evolution’s High Priests handle most of the church’s affairs as he had already done his part in letting the Church of Evolution reach the 100 million believers milestone.

It has already been two weeks since Ainsworth, Rian, and Dante arrived at the Zombie Apocalypse World and started their first Otherworld Mission.

Because of that, Main Mission 4’s objective was finally revealed and Ainsworth summoned the Voice of The World to check it.

[Main Missions for Unknown Difficulty]

[Main Mission 1: Kill 100 Ordinary Zombies, 10 Elite Zombies, and 1 Special Zombie.]

[Main Mission 2: Obtain 10 sun crystals and 10 moon crystals.]

[Main Mission 3: Obtain 1 special-rank artifact.]

[Main Mission 4: Find Dr. Elias Grimhart, Noctyra Corporation’s chief scientist of Project Revenant. He is the chief scientist who created the Erebos Virus and he is a very important person in this world line. Although he isn’t the protagonist but the antagonist, he is valuable nonetheless.

You can complete the Main Mission by killing him, or by protecting him. If it’s the latter, you can also cooperate with him to create a cure for the Erebos Virus but it doesn’t necessarily have to be mass-produced and used, only that it’s proven to cure the virus.]

[Main Mission 5: ??? (Will be revealed after completing Main Mission 4)]

Reading the revealed objective of Main Mission 4, Ainsworth contemplated, "The Noctyra Corporation? If I remember correctly, there does seem to be a big pharma in Switzerland but it isn’t tied to the government."

"If that’s the case, then Dr. Grimhart is the chief scientist of Project Revenant and he managed to create the Erebos Virus. However, the virus he created doesn’t pose a threat to me as even when the Erebos Virus is evolving, my Father Zombie Virus evolves faster than it."

"Furthermore, my Father Zombie Virus is genetically and biologically superior to the Erebos Virus. It’s like the difference between a prey and a predator. I don’t even need to create a cure since by using my Pathogen Control class exclusive skill, I can remove the Erebos Virus from those zombies and make them human again."

Not only Ainsworth, there was also a High Priest in the Church of Evolution who had a virus control superpower.

Although it was far inferior to his Pathogen Control which wasn’t just limited to viruses but all pathogens, it went to show that even the natives of this world can use skills similar to curing the zombie virus to achieve the same effect as using a real cure.

Because of that, if it was just to develop and create a cure so that everyone would be back to normal, Dr. Grimhart wasn’t highly important.

Just a few powerful evolvers having the superpower of superpower bestowal and superpower duplication could team up to duplicate and distribute the virus control superpower and let those evolvers who have it cleanse the world of zombies.

The arsenal of superpowers that Ainsworth currently has in his internal archive was massive. Since he had more than a hundred million believers, that meant he had more than a hundred million of superpowers.

Although there were inevitably duplicates, there were still a million unique superpowers in Ainsworth’s internal archive.

Whether it’s technology manipulation, sound manipulation, restoration, or even time stop, Ainsworth has those superpowers.

Even with his self-proclaimed status as the Virus God of Evolution, with the vast arsenal of superpowers he had, it wouldn’t be far-fetched for him to proclaim himself as the God of Superpowers.

However, Ainsworth knew that even when he had superpowers like time stop and death touch, they were powerful in usage but weak in essence and origin.

Just like how the phoenix fire superpower in the Zombie Apocalypse World would be no match for the real phoenix fire in a Magic Fantasy World, Ainsworth estimated that even his death touch superpower might not work against his sister Kyla who had great resistance to the death concept.

After downplaying Dr. Grimhart’s value, Ainsworth still decided, "Dr. Grimhart might not be highly needed, but it’s better to have him than not. Whether it’s to complete Main Mission 4 or let him work overtime in researching the Erebos Virus, I’ll undoubtedly need him."
