Chapter 177: Finding the others

Damon immediately put away all thoughts of the crazy woman as he knew that he was dealing with an enemy way beyond his caliber. This metallic fortress was not simple at all, and the person controlling it was even more so.

But he had to go back. He couldn’t let Mark and Kate be trapped in the damn thing for weeks and months until he was strong enough to take them out. A prison like that would break minds. He did not want them to suffer through a horror like that.

Besides, he had a plan now. The damn thing’s weakness was now very clear.

Damon quickly dashed through the chewed-up ends of the long corridor and found the intact part that led to the rest of the metallic fortress. Behind him, the hole was getting rapidly patched back up. He could sense the intense amount of mana that was being consumed in the process.

Damon doubled his speed. While the thing was occupied with repairing itself, he needed to focus on getting to his friends. Coincidentally, there were no more exits along the way. No more doors that led to laboratories.

Damon frowned but continued going. Soon, he noticed something strange. There were signs of disturbances all along the corridor as if someone had recently fought here. The metallic fortress hadn’t gotten around to repairing the small dents here and there.

This told him something important. Whoever was doing this had only a limited amount of energy at their disposal. Otherwise, they would have simply fixed everything in a single go. This was another weakness he could exploit.

Behind him, Aurora’s voice loudly rang. "Blood God, they are coming!"

Damon turned around to see something completely ridiculous and insane. Behind him, hordes and hordes of purple self-detonating mechs were silently marching forward. It looked like the metallic fortress was focusing on not one thing but two things after all. Him and the giant gaping hole!

"Fuck it, Aurora get over here. Do you have the angelic protection skill yet?" Everything was utterly overwhelming, but Damon had an idea in his head.

"Yes, I have." Aurora promptly replied, not disappointing him.

"Ok. Then get your ass over here."

The next second Aurora cast Angelic protection on herself and Damon. A pair of angle wings appeared behind her and they kind of pulled her right next to Damon in a heartbeat.

Damon smiled. "Now can you do the same to just one of those bots? Wait for my signal." He immediately picked her up and jumped down from the corridor to the bottom floor. He then went closer to the wall and dropped her. "Now do it."

Aurora immediately pulled a single bot towards them, a few feet away and Damon detonated the bot instantly with a few of his fireballs. The impact made a huge hole in the metallic wall, creating a temporary exit.

Coincidentally on the other side, there was a smaller corridor. "Bingo!" Damon grinned. "Continue pulling one every chance you get and I will blow it up." The two of them then used the technique to create a bunch more explosions. Some of them even opened up actual paths into laboratories.

Damon did not miss any chance. Unlike before this time the items within the laboratories were surprisingly intact and there were all sorts of things inside.

One of the rooms had several beast eggs within them but these beast eggs were different than the ones he had seen before. They had veins of black and purple as if they had demonic infestation.

One of the other rooms had a full set of weird equipment. They looked like they belonged in a chemistry lab but Damon could smell the alchemy from a mile away.

"Will I get lucky and actually find a bloodline stabilizer in this place?" Damon mused as he completely cleaned everything up, not leaving behind even a single piece of the fancy equipment.

Room after room there were all sorts of items which he could only assume were mostly high-level items. Damon cleaned out every single one of them without leaving behind even a scrap.

In front of him, Aurora was dutifully dealing with the next bot, creating the next explosion.

"Are you okay there, priestess?" Damon checked on her.

"Don’t worry, Blood God. You can trust your back to me. Today and for all eternity."

Damon’s face twitched at that weird response but this was not the time to dwell on crazy. He continued with his crusade. Soon, what he expected happened. The two of them had created so much disturbance that Mark had sniffed out their presence.

"Damon!" Mark made an entrance punching through a partly exploded wall and came out on the other side. Nevin was with him. Damon looked for Kate who was nowhere to be found.

"Where is Kate? I found a way to get out of here. We need to get the girls."

Nevin’s eyes widened in shock. It had only been a few minutes since they were separated and Damon had already figured out so much.

The group quickly continued down the path. Soon they arrived at a bigger hall where there was already a huge disturbance. Damon hurriedly charged into the hall only to find out a huge boatload of mechs surrounding Kate, Meira and Sylvara.

The three women were only barely holding on. These golems had some sort of powerful shield skill which made them near indestructible.

However, this was before Damon kited all of the purple mechs to the big hall. A couple of explosions from the purple mechs wreaked all sorts of havoc amidst the indestructible shield mechs.

Damon did not plan on clearing the entirety of these mech hordes. Now that everyone from the group was within eye sight, there was only one plan left. Just get the hell out of here!

"Everyone! Be prepared with your best skill and escape technique!" Damon shouted. He immediately targeted the first group 10 purple mechs, ready to create the void hole all over again. He erected several blood shields and mana shields and then started the chain of explosion.

But the next moment...
