Chapter 120: The Feast Begins

Luna looked at the in game clock. It was 15 minutes passed the agreed meetup time and the food was ready.

"He’s late."

She growled, tapping her foot against the ground in a rhythmic fashion akin to a metronome of annoyance.

Lily and Moku were too enraptured by the spread that Luna had prepared with all sorts of meats and vegetables. Even the unexpected guests in the form of Grandma Sky, Barry, Rori were surprised at the quality of the food laid out on the table.

Without a word, the three of them turned to face one of the other men who was clearly not part of the party: Ramone. They were all curious as to how he managed to make such an elaborate feast in such a short time.

In response, Ramone simply held up his hands and declared

"I can’t take all the credit for this. Most of the work was done by my student here. I was more of an assistant than anything."

The mentors had a newfound respect for the young rabbit girl who seemed to be growing more and more incensed as time passed by.

Barkeeper Roland also seemed a bit perturbed by the scene and turned to his new protege Nyx

"Is she always like this?"

Nyx tilted her head with a quizzical look of her own.

"With me? Quite often yes. With her brother? Never. Honestly she looks like she could kill someone right now."

"He better have a good excuse or I will break my foot off in his ass!"

Luna growled as Sonata stuck close to Grandma Sky who was beginning to look more and more skeptical of her students claims that they may be able to help.

"I’m sorry sweetie but I doubt that a chef, a woodworker, a bartender and a scholar will be able to help my situation.."

Immediately the air turned cold as the Mentors simultaneously turned to face Grandma Sky, clearly offended by her dismissive attitude.

The first one to speak up was Barry who slammed his fist onto the table.

"My student may be a pretty boy scum..."

"Hey! Uncalled for!"

Horo cried out in indignation as Nyx snickered at him.

’Why is it always me catching strays...’

"But he has rediscovered a forgotten profession. I truly think he is something special and will do something great!"

Rori scoffed as she readjusted her glasses.

"While rediscovering a Lifestyle Proffession is a cause for celebration, it doesn’t hold a candle to one that until today was strictly theoretical. While she may appear dumb and slow, her intelligence is unparralleled."

Lily, meanwhile, was too busy drooling over a particularly glossy piece of roast duck to notice either the praise or the insults flying over her head.

Moku had drool dripping from his little maw. The food smelled too good to even look away for a second in case it disappeared.

"A very interesting student you have there. But my student has a sharp culinary mind and is an experimentalist . She has the ability to shake the culinary world to its core!"

"You lot are interesting. Its been awhile since this place has been this rowdy. Refreshing."

Ramone placed a dog bowl onthe ground filled with cut up bits of meat with the juices dripping from it. Within seconds, Moku’s chubby body was at the bowl, head down munching away with his tail wagging like a helicopter.

"You seem unperturbed by all of this. I have to ask...who are you?"

Ramone asked as he patted Moku absentmindedly.

"Me? I am just a simple barkeep. Once upon a time I went by Two nicknames...The Drunken Dagger and Alcohol Sage. Depended on the day and how I felt."

The mentors froze when they heard that confession from Roland.

"You mean to tell me that the Barkeep of this small rundown tavern is the fabled Omnibrewer? I thought you were a myth honestly."

Barry was shocked, inwardly regretting describing the tavern in fear that he offended one of the most feared assasins amd medicine producers in the world

Roland merely shrugged in response.

"That’s perfectly fine. Besides my disciple will be taking over for me once she has proven herself fit to lead."

Grandma Sky was was left speechless. Each one of her students friends had gone far beyond the standard.

A commotion outside the tavern doors broke the tension. The sound of hurried footsteps and a muffled curse reached their ears just before the door burst open.

Leo stumbled in, out of breath, hair slightly windswept and cloak half-askew. His ears were drooping low in guilt and panic.

"I’m sorry! I’m so sorry, I lost track of time and"

"You’re late!"

Luna interrupted with a growl.

"15 minutes late. To a meal I cooked for everyone."

Leo winced as Luna’ glare intensified as she looked him over.

"And since when were you so rude as to not invite your mentor to a meal? I dont recall raising such a rude bastard.."

"Mentor? I dont have one of those"

Leo instintictively responded but that was most likelu a mistake as Luna’s eyes narrowed in anger.

"So you mean to tell me that not only were you late but you also failed to get a lifestyle Profession?!"

"What? No! I got somsthing callednZodiac Tracer. Was a quest reward..."

That was when Leo noticed that each of his party member had brought someone. He recognized Barry and Rori, nodding to them in greeting.

Luna had much more she wanted to say but it could be saved for later.

"Find a seat. We will talk about this later."

"Okay Sis."

The crisis was over for now.

"Cutie~! Come sit next to me~!"

Nyx pattwd a chair next to her that was nestled between her and Sonata.

Afraid to sit next to Luna lest she hit him, he decided to sit next to Nyx. Seeing him follow her suggestion without a fuss, Nyx immediately hugged him with a grin on her face.

"AWW~! Am I making my way into your heart Cutie~?"

"Ugh"

Leo immediately groaned as Nyx reeked of alcohol.

"Let me go. You reek of booze."

A loud clap rang out, causing everyones gaze to turn to the source: Luna.

"Thank you for coming everyone. Sorry for the delay. Dig in and Enjoy!"

With Luna’s permission finally granted, the feast had officially begun.
