Sure, Leo had agreed to split up and meet up later but he couldn’t help but feel a bit adverse to it. He spent years in a hospital where he was practically isolated and was the first time since reuniting with his sister that he was left to his own devices.

Despite only a few minutes passing, he couldn’t help but admit to himself that he was already feeling lonely. He knew it was silly but even with the hustle and bustle of the village, without his friends, it felt far too quiet.

"Haah...."

He let out a sigh as he started wandering the streets in an attempt to kill some time, hoping to find something that would occupy his time and maybe make it pass by faster.

’Leo...’

Astra’s voice called out to him, sounding somewhat hesitant as she sensed what was truly bothering him.

It would be a lie to say he wasn’t scared. After the last time this text had appeared, he had both been looking forward to and dreading that this day would come. Taking a deep breath, he reached his hand out to touch the screen.

He closed his eyes as from his fingertips, a comforting warmth washed over him. However after a moment he noticed that the sound of Players and NPCs in the village had disappeared.

Opening his eyes, he found himself standing in a vast empty plain filled with starry skies. He felt his heartbeat quicken as a faint sense that he had been here before tugged at a corner of his mind.

He opened his mouth to say something but no words came out. Putting his hands to his throat in confusion, he tried to shout but it was to no avail.

’What is happening? Why can’t I say anything?!’

Suddenly there was a flash of light and a woman dressed entirely in white appeared on the plains. Leo`s eyes were immediately drawn to the gold splotches that stained her robes. A similar gold liquid dripped from the woman’s mouth as she held a bundle to her chest.

’Golden Blood? And why am I getting the feeling she is being chased by something...or is it someone?’

Leo could only watch as the Woman put the bundle onto the ground with extreme reluctance. With clear tears dripping down her face onto the bundle, she softly whispered.

"I’m sorry...I’m sorry. I do not wish to leave you here...I love you."

"WAAAAAAAHHH"

The cries of a baby filled the air, the woman’s expression twisting into one of absolute agony as if she was having her heart ripped out of her chest.

"My sweet sweet child. I must leave you to protect you...I want you to know I would never willingly leave your side."

Without any warning, the woman’s head turned directly to where Leo stood. Leo looked behind him to see if there was anything in that direction but there was nothing. Turning back, he saw the woman had a sad smile on her face as she stared into his eyes with an ethereal rainbow-like glow surrounding her.

As she was about to say something, the world around him began to warp and shatter. His vision went black as a faint whisper reached his ears.

"Please don’t hate me... You may forget...but I will never"

There was a moment of utter silence before the din of the village returned. Opening his eyes, he realized that his hand was still outstretched but the screen was no longer pulsating with the golden text. Instead there was a new notification in its place.

Astra remained silent but she couldn’t help but sigh as she contemplated what she had observed and Mors had tactfully ignored.

’Leo....why were you crying?’

As Leo rushed down the busy streets, tears streamed down his face as a yearning and sorrowful feeling tugged at his heart yet he didn’t seem to notice it.
