Corey's mind was filled with so many thoughts as Nina's words were continuously replayed in his mind.

He remained quiet for some moments, and then he spoke.

"So, if I'm able to successfully become a new race by fusing with Prince Zakar'el's heart, my very presence would become detrimental to New Earth... And I'll be forced to leave?"

[No. You wouldn't be forced to leave since you'll still be a child of this world... But if you care about this planet and the people in it, you'll leave.]

Corey furrowed his brows when he heard this, and then he released a frustrated sigh

'I've still not saved Anna, and the chances of her still being on New Earth is extremely high... There's also Divine, Rosa, Kiefer, and the rest.'

'But they should be fine since Divine can take them out of New Earth.'

'As for my past acquaintances like Ashley, Becca, and the likes... I don't really care if they die... But they don't deserve it.'

'Besides, it'll leave a bitter taste in my mouth if I leave New Earth without doing anything to the foreign forces in my world.'

'I can't leave yet... Which means I can't fuse with the heart yet.'

Corey released another frustrated sigh.

"It seems I'm still a Demi-Paragon for some time."

[Hmm.]

Nina hummed softly.

[It's your decision to make anyway. Just know that once you become a new race, you'll be exposed to the true path of power.]

[What you'll experience would be far beyond your imagination... Hopefully... You don't succumb before you reach your true potential.]

Corey's eyes flashed with a sharp and determined light for a fraction of a second, and then a light smile appeared on his lips.

"When did you start encouraging me, Nina? I thought you didn't think too much of me?"

[Of course I didn't think too much of you in the past since you were just a human in a lowly world like this. Especially after I looked into your past and saw how you were a failure in your academy, and then how you pathetically ran away from mere ghosts.]

Corey's smile froze when he heard these completely unexpected words from Nina.

He was forced to recall his past and experiences when the apocalypse first began, and an embarrassed expression instantly appeared on his face.

[Kuh.]

A suppressed chuckle resounded in Corey's mind, and his left eye twitched.

"What's so funny?" Corey asked darkly.

[Nothing... Kuhh!]

Corey's expression darkened, and he had the urge to give Nina a beating or two. Unfortunately, he had never seen Nina physically, and he was not even certain if Nina could have a physical body.

'If she had a physical body, I'd have spanked her.'

[HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!]

Just as Corey had this thought, Nina's loud laughter resounded in his mind, and his expression became extremely dark.

"What the fuck is so funny?"

[Noth- Haa- Hahaha... Nothing- Keugh!]

This time around, a baffled light appeared in Corey's eyes, and he was truly confused as to what was so funny to Nina.

"Okay, so what's so funny actually?"

Corey asked confusedly, and he could hear Nina taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm herself.

[I- I just- I just can't believe that you were so ugly before becoming a Demi-Paragon. No wonder Becca never chose you. Keugh!]

Multiple veins appeared on Corey's forehead and neck the moment he heard the reason why Nina had been laughing so hard.

Out of everything that he expected, he never expected his beauty to be the reason why Nina had been laughing so hard.

And the worst part of it was that he was certain that he had not been ugly.

Corey inhaled and exhaled deeply, and despite the many things he wanted to say, he decided to keep quiet and ignore Nina.

He brought up his status screen. But before he could go through his status screen, Nina spoke.

[Although I didn't think too much of you in the past, after seeing everything you've accomplished, the decisions you've made, and your experiences... I think a lot about you now.]

[You're doing well, Corey.]

Corey was stunned when he heard Nina's words because he never expected such words from her.

Subconsciously, a small smile appeared on his lips.

"Don't tell me you're already loving up on me, Nina?"

Nina instantly scoffed, [You're still too weak for me to even have any feelings of affection towards you.]

Corey's smile widened slightly, "Whatever you say, Nina."

Nina merely scoffed in response, and Corey chuckled.

Although he would never tell Nina through his lips, he was happy with her words.

It was also strange to him that Nina's words of encouragement felt good to him.

'How strange.'

He thought, but not too deeply of it, and then he looked at his status window that was in front of him.
