Chapter 776 - 776: 773: Trolls

After barely escaping the battle against Pope Arzhel and Tessa Liora, Corey found himself in a mountainous region that was dangerous for the majority of New Earthlings, but was nothing for him.

Through his Eyes of Omniscience and his Paragon senses, he saw that the strongest monster in the mountains was a peak Tier 4 monster.

The mountains had several monsters. For example, it had goblins, mutated birds, golems, and most especially, trolls.

From what he saw, trolls were the strongest monsters on the mountains. However, the goblins had the highest numbers.

After scanning the entire mountainous region, he began reducing the speed of his Aerofoil Relics which had begun overheating and were getting damaged with every second that passed.

Although he was doing all he could to maintain his consciousness, he could feel his gaze becoming dim and blurry with every passing second.

The hole in his stomach was a severe injury that needed time to heal.

He stumbled into the cave with the wings of the overheated Aerofoil Relics receding, and the moment he stopped tumbling, his eyes fluttered as he tried to keep it open.

With a thought, he summoned earth runes around his body, and the ground around him rose and covered him in a sphere of earth.

Corey tried to set several other defenses around his body since he knew that he was going to fall unconscious, but he realized that he could not.

His body was shutting down on its own.

Although he was healing himself with Dream Healing which was an extremely high level healing skill, moving at supersonic speeds while also using several skills was making his injury worse.

He needed time, a lot of time to not only heal the hole in his stomach, but to also purge the Mystic Force, Mystic Mana, and the strange energy that was in the energy beam that Tessa shot out of her eyes.

His Void Phoenix Heart was fiercely battling this strange energy, and Corey guessed that the energy was related to dragons.

'I must live.'

This was Corey's last thought as he fell unconscious and his body shut down.

A week later, Corey's eyes fluttered open with a completely healed body.

The first thing he did was to touch his stomach, and just as he expected, the hole in his stomach had gone.

He interacted with his Stars of Consciousness, and the first thing he did was to know how long he had been unconscious for.

"A whole week?... That's longer than I expected."

Corey mumbled in surprise as he rubbed the healed part of his stomach. Although there was no scar on his stomach due to the high healing effects of Dream Healing, he could still feel the lingering effects of the hole.

The sphere of earth around his body crumbled, and his eyes widened slightly when he saw himself being surrounded by tens of trolls and goblins.

"This is surprising."

Corey said with slight surprise in his voice, and he calmly looked at the monsters that were stunned at his appearance.

"Two low-level Tier 4s, eight peak Tier 3s, and several other Tier 2s and Tier 1s."

Corey scanned through the monsters with a slightly intrigued expression, and then he waited.

Corey watched with his eyes shining bright as he looked at the two Tier 4 trolls roaring and shouting orders at the remaining monsters.

'I know that with my Ears of Omniscience, I can understand the Language of Mysticism and several other languages that I've not even heard of before... But I never expected my Ears of Omniscience to be able to comprehend Monster Language.'

'This is... completely unexpected.'

A slight smile appeared on Corey's lips as he calmly looked at the approaching tens of trolls and goblins.

He snapped his finger, and then a sharp and heavy thrum echoed in the cave.

Although the trolls and goblins heard this sound, and their instincts screamed at them of danger, they saw nothing.

Before their imperfect brains could comprehend what was going on or react to what was going on, all they saw were colorless white lines appearing all around them, and then their bodies split into several parts.

The Tier 4 trolls were the fastest to react, and they tried to protect their bodies with their club like weapons, but Corey's Phantom Plague Axe Intent cut their crude looking weapons in two like a knife cutting through butter.

Corey's eyes flashed with a slightly surprised light when he saw that the injuries on the Tier 4 trolls were trying to heal.

However, how could mere Tier 4 trolls ever heal from his Phantom Plague Axe Intent which had extremely poisonous abilities that were not easy to get rid of?

The trolls could only release grunts of shock and disbelief as their bodies slowly fell apart, and their blackened blood stained the floors.

Corey's eyes glanced at the soul crystals that fell from the bodies of the trolls, along with two items.

One was a leather armor, and one was a necklace.

Corey waved his hand, and manipulated the wind runes to create a gust of wind that carried the soul crystals and the two items.

Without bothering to spare a glance at the soul crystals and leather armor, he sent them into the storage space of his Tri-Pupil Eyes.

He was not planning on absorbing the soul crystals of just any Tier 4 any longer.

After obtaining new knowledge and information from his Stars of Consciousness, he realized that absorbing just any soul crystal was not the best path to take... Especially for him.

As for the leather armor?

He had no use of it because of his Devourer's Armor. Although he had not used it for a very very long time, his Devourer's Armor was one of his trump cards that he could not afford to expose while in the Underworld.

'I'll feed the Leather Armor to the Devourer's Armor... It must have been hungry.'

Corey thought, and then he looked at the necklace.

However, he was disappointed by the information he received from the necklace.
