Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon -
Chapter 768 - 768: 765: Mistake
A scream escaped Tessa's lips after Corey cut off her right arm, but Corey did not care.
He stretched out his left hand, and a sword made out of flames was formed in his hand in a fraction of a second.
With a calm and indifferent expression, he pushed the sword towards Tessa's head, fully intending on piercing her head.
He could have gone for the head the first time he stepped on her chest, but he knew that she was expecting him to make such a move and would have countered it immediately.
However, going for her right arm which was the arm holding the sword with a tattoo of chains was something she never expected.
Tessa's pupils shook as she felt the intense sensation of death bombarding her mind, soul, and spirit.
"AH!"
A scream tore through her throat, and her eyes unleashed a golden beam that made Corey's eyes widen past its limits.
He never expected such an attack from Tessa.
'Too fast!'
Corey could not dodge the energy beam because of how close he was to it and its speed.
Corey staggered backwards while holding his abdomen.
Copious amounts of light grey blood poured unto the ground, and a cough filled with blood escaped his throat.
He fell to a knee with blood pouring out from his mouth.
'Ah. Damn it.'
Corey lampooned inwardly as he looked at the hole that was in his stomach. The energy beam had completely pierced through his Hexagon Nova Shield and his Demi-Paragon physique, and Corey knew that he was fucked.
'I calculated and simulated up to a hundred responses she could have performed, but what I never expected was for her to suddenly unleash an energy beam from her eyes.'
'I need to leave... I can't fight with this type of injury... Even my spine was destroyed by the energy beam... The only reason why I'm not dead and can still try to move is because of my Stars of Consciousness which are controlling several parts of my body and Dream Healing.'
'I need time, a lot of time to heal this injury... I was careless.'
Corey looked up, and he saw Tessa standing while holding the stump of her severed arm.
He could see the rage in her gaze as she looked at him with immense killing intent pouring down on him. However, deep in her gaze was a tinge of fear and disbelief which Corey noticed.
"I'm going to kill you very very slowly."
Tessa spoke with an extremely cold tone as she approached Corey with slow and steady steps.
At first, red blood fell from her severed arm, but as Tessa approached him, he saw the red blood turning golden.
The moment his gaze landed on the golden blood, and its scent drifted into his nose, he instantly felt immense irritation and anger at the golden blood.
He could feel his Void Phoenix Heart thrumming with killing intent at the golden blood, and if not for how unique his mind and soul were, he would have attacked Tessa without caring for his life.
'A dragon's blood?'
Corey subconsciously thought, but then he felt like he was wrong. Another thought suddenly appeared in his mind, and he narrowed his eyes.
'No... A true dragon's blood?'
Corey took in a deep breath, and his eyes flashed with numerous calculations, simulations, and thoughts.
"You seem to be a dragon, but also not a dragon at the same time... What are you?"
He asked in an attempt to buy himself some time, but Tessa chuckled when she heard his words.
"Do you really think-"
She vanished, and Corey's pupils constricted.
Tessa appeared at a completely different area and swung her sword in what seemed like an empty space.
Clang!
However, the moment Tessa swung her sword, a loud clang resounded far and wide along with a groan of pain.
Space rippled, and Corey could be seen lying on the ground with a pained expression and a pool of blood beneath him.
His Genesis Armament could be seen flying far away, and a large cut could also be seen on his chest.
The light in Corey's eyes flickered in and out as he struggled to stay conscious. Although he tried to block Tessa's attack, he was severely weakened and he failed horrendously.
After failing to successfully block Tessa's attack, he was merely an inch from death's door.
'Damn it all... I can't believe just a slight miscalculation is about to cost me my life.'
"Did you really think that I'll fall for your illusions, and would not be able to perceive the scent of your disgusting blood... I can smell it from a mile away, and it's extremely foul."
Corey's eyes flashed with a light of realization, 'So that's why she was able to see through the illusion even when I used my Tri-Pupil Eyes... Another miscalculation because of lack of knowledge.'
Corey lampooned inwardly, and then he released a strained sigh.
Numerous thoughts ran through his head as he stared at Tessa. His gaze landed on the chain and pendant of the Temple of Flames around Tessa's neck, and memories of what happened the first time he encountered the Pope who killed his parents and kidnapped his sister flooded his mind.
His gaze became cold, and killing intent suddenly filled his heart as he clenched his fist tightly.
'Anna.'
Just as Corey had this thought, he felt another presence, and this presence was very familiar to him.
It was a presence that he made sure to never forget.
The Pope.
Corey's flickering consciousness instantly blazed to life the moment he set his sight on the Pope who stood beside Tessa with a deep frown on his face.
"What happened?"
The Pope asked with a deep frown as he stared at Tessa's severed arm with disbelief, shock, and intrigue.
Tessa glanced at the Pope and was about to respond, but her pupils constricted to needles the moment she felt the most lethal, poisonous, and sharp killing intent she had ever experienced.
She snapped her head at Corey, and so did the Pope.
